  • He will eat salads occasionally, but it's not an every day thing. I will suggest that to him though and see if he likes that idea better than drinking it.
  • Also no experience with this, but just wanted to say that you can wean yourself off the caffeine so that you don't get migraines. If you do it gradually, you shouldn't have too many side effects.
  • If I am being super careful about this, I will ask for oil & vinegar on the side and put it on myself with salt & pepper.
  • Update: My son was taking a teaspoon of ACV twice a day and he said he was a little better but not completely. I told him to increase it to a Tablespoon and he said that it seems to be a lot better. He isn't wild about the taste, but it is a lot cheaper than the Zypan pills and the Prilosec or Nexium or whatever it was the…
  • Yeah, I think you will find that some days you will be more hungry and some days less. Don't worry about it now. If after a few weeks you are still always low, I would revisit it then.
  • It is *hard* even when not many pounds overweight. I tried incorporating it into my routine, but it is just too strenuous for me. I need something that I will stick with.
  • We did clean the air conditioners after I suspected that was the problem and it helped some but didn't completely eliminate my symptoms. The ACV does seem to be helping further though and I hope soon will completely clear me up. I did tell my son yesterday to stop the antacids and start ACV. He has been on probiotics for…
  • Keep going. Read all the stuff in the Launchpad if you haven't already, make any adjustments necessary, keep calm and keto :) You will feel great soon.
  • ^^ This.

  • It could be the protein or higher fat that is keeping you satisfied. 980 calories a day?? That seems low to me, unless you have a serious health issue where you need to drop as much weight as you can immediately. The typical recommendation is 1200 calories a day.

  • Started eating lower carb 13 months ago to support my SO whose doctor told him he should do Atkins. While I wasn't going to keto levels, I was amazed at how good I felt. I dropped 20+ pounds which was an added bonus.
  • Yeah, the point is, it doesn't confuse the body at all, your body knows exactly what to do with those extra carbs and calories. We just like to confuse our mind with justification. lol.
  • I would say give it more time before declaring it not working. Especially since your body was traumatized like that. And 1200-1300 calories is not enough for a man, 1200 is the minimum for a woman.
  • Well, define "cheat". Does that mean higher calories, or eating more carbs than you normally do? My personal carb goal is anything less than 100 grams. Some days I am at 40-50, and some days I am at 80-100. For some people, those 80-100 would be considered "cheating". This past Tuesday, I was way over on everything. We had…
  • How long have you been at this?
  • Do you log exercise? Because MFP will give you the calorie goal necessary if you did not do any exercise and then add more calories when you exercise. Also, these calorie calculators are estimates, it doesn't mean that your body burns exactly that many. And another thing to consider is accuracy in measuring, logging. This…
  • I have found substitutes for most of the things I loved.
  • How much weight do you have to lose? I think it is fine short term to be way under goals, but not long term, all the time. I find that usually that after several days or a week, then I get more hungry for awhile. It seems to go in phases.
  • I love Leslie Sansone walk at home videos any time of year. If I go outside to walk I end up strolling slowly (oh, look at the kitty.... oh, nice doggie..... oh, I love those flowers..... oh, need a picture of how they built that deck-patio-whatever) lol.
  • How much weight loss are you currently seeing? If 1500 is the number of calories where you should lose .5/week, then the number where you would stay the same weight would be 1750 calories. I'm in the camp of not being militant about the 1290 calories.
  • ^^This. I eat at a similar carb level as you (typically in the 50-80 grams/day range), and while I don't have *as severe* symptoms as my SO does with the sodium losses, I do still get them. (He eats less carbs than me and also works outside in a physical job). I agree that the reason you are experiencing them now and not…
  • I am the same way, my belly protrudes but my hips, butt and upper body slim right down easily. Exercise does help. I can have same diet, about the same number of calories consistently and be losing weight, but when I am not exercising everything is soft and flabby and the belly is a big roll that it looks like I need…
  • Oh this zombie thread Much too soon you said goodbye Please come back to life
  • This thread is so old But I'm glad to see it back Haiku is so cool
  • Am I the only one freaked out about the thought of my uncle or brother watching me dance naked? Well it's freaky thinking about anybody I'm not intimate with seeing me naked, but male family members? Yikes. LOL.
  • Yes it can be done. But I have found that when I am not exercises, even though I get to a reasonable scale number goal, I am still very flabby. Exercise is important for FAT loss, not only weight loss. If I weight 140 pounds and have 30% body fat percent, I'm not going to be very happy, I want to be under 25% body fat…
  • The lighting was about fatigue, headaches, and just feeling totally run down all the time. I felt good on vacation, and when I came back to work, immediately started feeling like crap again. And it isn't job stress. That is when I looked around and realized the new bulbs corresponded to the time I started feeling bad. The…
  • One weird thing I noticed was I don't have gunk in my ears like I used to. Now if I use a Q-tip, it is just to dry in the ear, not to wipe out gunk.
  • The flourescent ones in the office do not have any diffuser covers and they put way too many bulbs in last time, and apparently they have different wattage or something and these are the brightest ones. They also put some new LED bulb in the hall right outside my door and that one is like a constant blue blind spot in my…
  • Yes, lack of sodium can be the problem. Or potassium. If you drink a ton of water, you might also be further depleting your electrolytes.
