Yes, hard to not use sugar but you can cut or use substitute in this recipe. It is my mother's. Bring one cup of water and 2 tsp of pickling spice to a boil. simmer covered for 5 minutes. Can you get it take out once and measure it? That would help you to visualize. But I go with a fist for a cup and am usually about right.

The calculators and other methods all say I have a large frame. I knew that...I had....(TMI for some)..... an over ten pound baby in 45 minutes and I wear a size 10 shoe. I am 5'4".

You can do this. I noticed that you said you work in an office and sit all day. So do I. So I put a timer on my computer and every 30 minutes when it goes off I stand up and do ten of something: squats, touch my toes, shrugs, arm circles, etc. I never count it as exercise but it gets me moving a bit and brightens my day…

I couldn't walk more than 1/4 mile without severe lower back pain. I was sent to the physical therapist who said the only thing that will help is exercise and getting the weight off. Somehow, I heard it. So I am 9 pounds down and up to half a mile without pain.

Apparently, according to my husband, the fact that I like peanut butter sandwiches with A1 sauce on them is weird.

I weigh and post on Mondays. Knowing I am going to do this helps on the weekends when my life is less structured and my meals less well-planned.

There were lots of fruit, vegetable and salad choices along with white meat roasted turkey. I ate a nice plate, logged it all and didn't go overboard but did do my quarter-mile walk (all I can do without pain right now) afterwards. Whew! First real hurdle since I started this journey.

I use it instead of butter as a spread for toast or bagel in the morning. Gives a hit of protein for the day and tastes yummy!
