any other oldies out there ??

Hi all;
I am 65 and counting - just trying to shed 12 kgs.

I lost 5 kgs easily in the first few weeks, but now don't seem to loose a single gram anymore !!!

Are there any others in my age group as foolish as me?
Like to hear from you.

I'm not in your age group, but I love the way you phrased the question. You must be awesome :)

    sure there are, plenty.
    I'm in 2 groups, one is" fit after 50" & the other is " 55 & over"
Why don't you join them, you'd be very welcome.
Good luck and yes it's slower but it can be done.

You might be on too low a calorie goal btw, maybe eating a bit more might help you get a kick start again. I've just upped mine and it seems to be working.

Ahem. Yes, there certainly are. I am 60 and have more to lose than you but I am also a bit crazy so we might get along fine. Feel free to add me. :)

Hi! I'm an oldie...just getting started in MFP...
I keep hearing from everyone that it will come off!
So I'm sure it's true for you too! I keep wanting
to cut my calories too low and that little message
will keep coming up that says your body will
go into starvation mode and conserve calories
    (rather than shed them.)

This is a great site for us older gals. I'm 62, but I think I'm ready to stop counting, not that fooling myself is possible at my age!

Oh yes! I am a few months from 69. Remember...we are just middle aged (if we live to be 130 or so); and, we want to go out in style. That means thinner, stronger, and looking good. It isn’t uncommon to loss, maintain for a while, and lose some more. Whenever I don’t eat enough and let up on exercise, I don’t lose. Walk. Drink water. C’mon...we can do it together!

I am 60, been on here since Jan 2011. It is a great site, and lots of motivation out there.

Healthy eating, exercise and water . . . .

None of us are foolish we are all just trying to get healthier. They say the last few lbs. are the hardest to lose I am having the same problem. I think if we all stick together and help each other we can do it . Working out and drinking lots of water helps.Add me if you would like.
