  • Hi everyone! I'm new here as well. I just started Adipex yesterday. So far I'm having a good experience. I have no negative side effects. I don't even have the common ones like dry mouth or trouble sleeping. I have more energy, and I feel like my head is more clear, if that makes sense. I really hope this works for me. I…
  • I'm so glad I found this group for this very reason! I would never post in the general forum just because they are so negative and borderline abusive. It's insane. Three years ago I lost 40 lbs with MFP and exercise. In the last year I have slowly gained weight no matter what I do. Now I am 9 lbs from my highest weight…
  • If you eat TDEE you will need to make sure you never eat over that and you also exercise that much every single day because those calories are based off your activity. MFP has you set at 1200, but eating back all your exercise calories. So if you burn 500 calories you will end up eating 1700 calories that day. Does that…
  • Hi all! I plan to start the 17 Day Diet on Sunday. I'm a total carb-o-holic so I'm really hoping this will help me shed the last 15 lbs I hope to lose. I've plateaued for a long time and then just gave up counting calories for a while. It is so hard to count during the summer since we are always on the go! Knowing exactly…
  • I live in Brighton which is in Livingston County. :flowerforyou:
  • It absolutely could be accurate. Depending on the type of cheese and amount and the type of ham it can be quite a bit of calories. Especially when you factor in the oil it was probably cooked in. To be on the safe side, personally, I would just use one of the higher estimates. Unfortunately that's the problem with eating…
  • I have no issues with my BB not calculating my exercise burn properly and this is the very first time I have ever heard that. I have heard a few people say that it doesn't calculate biking well since it is all leg work but in that case I've read you can wear the BB on your leg. Not sure if that makes it more accurate…
  • A few things you need to remember. The food you eat is going to weigh something. The water weighs a lot (a quart weighs 2 lbs.). Sodium will cause you to retain that water as does carbs. As long as you aren't 5 pounds heavier the morning after, why do you care what you weigh at the end of the day? It's not a fat gain so it…
  • Your weight will naturally fluctuate during the day for a multitude of reasons. Food consumption, fluids, etc. Don't weigh yourself at night. Only weigh yourself in the morning, after you go pee, naked (if possible). This is going to be your most accurate weight. Then only compare your morning weights. You will fluctuate…
  • Great job! You are exactly where I am. I started at 194 and am currently at 162. Only I am 5'7. I want to lose 17 more pounds, putting me at 145, but I haven't been there in a long time. Since I was 24, probably. That was 9 years ago! Good luck to you! Hopefully we can both reach our weight loss goals.…
  • I am just finishing up week 2 of Burn. I think the only reason my legs aren't killing me is because I did a 12 week round of Turbo Fire before starting. So my legs are pretty used to doing mega squats. However, my glutes and hamstrings do get sore. You'll get strong really fast. Keep doing them and watch your form. I was…
  • I used to hate water. What helped me is I quit drinking everything else. I will have 1 cup of coffee in the morning and the rest of the day I only drink water. I carry a 32 ounce water bottle with a straw at all times and try to finish 3 of them per day. Once your body gets used to drinking nothing but water you will…
  • I have a Bodybugg Version 3 and I've worn it for the last 18 weeks. I have only taken it off for special occasions, so maybe 3 days total, since I bought it. I got it on sale and only paid $99 and got 12 months free online subscription. Then my armband broke after about a week and they sent me a new one and gave me an…
  • I highly doubt she is burning 1000 calories in an hour on the elliptical. They are notorious for giving over-estimates on your calorie burn. The only way it could even be close to that would be if she is morbidly obese and if that were the case she'd need to lose weight. Anyway, alexpapa is correct. If she wants to "tone"…
  • You want to get as close to your Net goal as possible. So if you burn 600 calories you should eat 600 extra calories. MFP calculates your deficit based on the net goal. :flowerforyou: And, I have two girls, ages 2 and 3 so I totally know what it's like to have long days where you feel like you've lost your mind.
  • You burn calories when you exercise. So you burned 600 calories. Those calories come off your running total for the day. Your goal is to eat 1200 NET calories. So you are at 928...you need to eat more. It's only saying negative 600 because it subtracts it from your goal amount. Hope that helps.
  • I agree with this! ^^^ I think it takes a long time to go into starvation mode. I think that term is used way too loosely these days and especially on this site. Is there a such thing as starvation mode? Sure. But, you're not going in it from a few days. What I do believe is that your body is a very smart engine. You keep…
  • Basically just remember to measure at your biggest point for whatever part you are measuring. Example, largest part of thigh, hips (where but sticks out the most), chest is across the nipples, largest part of the upper arm, etc. Only exception is your natural waist and there you would measure the smallest part of your…
  • I just finished week four today. I like it. Burns lots of calories and I do it on the treadmill and then usually walk a brisk pace for 30 minutes afterwards to hit one hour. I think it is an excellent program for beginners to running or someone that needs to work up to running again.
  • What size weights does everyone use?
  • Cut back all un-natural sugar (meaning anything except fruit), eat lean meats, low fat dairy, high fiber, cut your processed carbs (white bread, white rice, etc. and switch to more whole grain carbs), and eat more veggies. Drink lots of water. At least 1/2 your body weight in ounces. Doing this can help keep you full and…
  • By the way...it is crazy how we are pretty much the same weight and our measurements are the same in some areas and way different in others. haha It just goes to show how different people carry weight differently. I am a total hourglass shape! And, I had no hips until I had my daughters. :ohwell:
  • My goal weight is between 145 to 150. Basically I'd like to be in a single digit jean size! I'm a size 10 right now.
  • I'm in! I just started it today. And, I'm also doing the Couch 2 5K program 3 days a week. Height: 5'7 Weight: 165 Arms: 11.5 Bust: 38 Waist: 31 Hips: 41 Thighs: 24
  • Okay, I figured it out. So, stats are actually on the pictures. But, I did TF for 13 weeks. Plus followed MFP for calories.
  • I have a before/after on my profile. Sorry, I don't have a lot of time right now to figure out how to post pictures on here. But, I did 13 weeks of TF and now I am doing the C25K program. I LOVE TF! The picture that shows the best results is the side by side comparison photo where I'm standing to the side.
  • A good trick to minimize the bitterness of brussels sprouts is to shred them. Cut them in half and shred them into pieces. Heat a couple of teaspoons of evoo in a skillet, at a few cloves of freshly chopped garlic and cook until it starts to brown. Then toss in your shredded sprouts and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender…
  • I had back surgery on a bulging disc at L5-S1 when I was 25 (I am 33 now). The disc was bulging to the point of no return and sitting on my sciatic nerve. I also had 3 other herniated discs and over the years they never got better. My last MRI was last year and showed I still had those three herniated plus the other side…
  • Thanks. Today is my "off" day so I planned to either not exercise or do the 40 minute stretch from Turbo Fire. Maybe I'll just take the break though. It's so hard to take a break. I feel so guilty!
  • Two weeks before my TOM. Bowels regular. No excessive sodium, I drink a minimum of 90 oz. of water per day and I measured myself yesterday and I have lost 1.5 inches off each thigh in the past month and that's it. But, I only lost a few pounds since my last measurements.
