  • I have multiple, painful conditions I'm dealing with so my exercise is limited. It takes awhile to put weight on so it's going to take awhile to get it off. Be faithful to your food logging and do whatever movement you can whenever you can. Every little bit of effort counts and you'll see results in the long run. Go for it!
  • Fantastic job! Congrats on hanging in there and finding your own right way!
  • You look great! Your real self is shining through. You're going to lose that next 50 pounds too because you've learned so much and have a lot more to look forward to!
  • You've done a great job! Congratulations on your determination to have a healthy lifestyle and be a healthy role model for your son. From the pictures, it looks like you've also influenced your husband to get trimmer too
  • Congratulations! Thanks for your encouragement too. By the way, i understand that skin will gradually tighten up again for most people though it could take over a year and you may still have permanent stretch marks
  • Hi Jayjay! I commend you for making all the changes you have. Your body must love it. I've made most of those changes then, to various degrees, I slip back even though it feels so good to eat raw, etc. My struggle is that my husband doesn't eat the same way &I'm the family cook, so that presents a challenge. It's also hard…
  • I'm from Louisiana. After a year and half of up and down on MFP, I've lost 45 pounds. It's an evolving journey and I'd be happy to share the road with you. Add me too!
  • I walk almost every day with my dogs and it feels good when I'm able to manage it. I also climb the stairs at work instead of using the elevator so I get that too. On my best days, I just do all the physical activities I want to do (clean house, dance, play with my grandchildren, etc) and those are great if I don't do so…
  • i walk 30 minutes most days for exercise because I can usually do that and not have too much payback later. But I can also go for days where that is not possible because of my pain and fatigue levels. I long to exercise more and know on good days that I can try but have to watch that I don't wipe myself out for later. Feel…
  • Make sure you're going to bed early enough to get a good night's sleep. That will make a big difference to how you feel getting out of bed in the morning. And I agree with the idea of baby steps that bgelliott explained. Bottom line: you deserve to take yourself seriously and organize your life to do whatever it takes to…
  • Our minds are truly the most powerful part of us... Congratulations on your determination and your success! I'll bet everyone who knows you is impressed. You look great and I'll bet you feel even better.
  • Thanks for bearing the embarrassment because you sure have inspired me! You make it clear that it's possible to quietly, persistently reach my goal and maintain it. Thank you!!! I hope you're proud of yourself and are enjoying all the benefits of your wonderful fitness.
  • I'm a vegetarian but I still like this beef!!! Thanks for this inspiring video. You brought a smile to my face, a lift to my heart and a kick to my butt. Appreciate it!
  • You are impressive!!! It's fantastic that you did this, especially while going to college. I'll bet you inspire the people around you and I know you sure inspire me. Thanks for sharing your victory. If you apply this kind of effort to everything in your life and take yourself this seriously in everything, you are going to…
  • YOUR inner self is telling you its time for a complete overall so TRUST YOURSELF. You can do it!! Perhaps in addition to MFP support, you can join a quit smoking support group. Anytime you're giving up an addiction - let alone two of them - the feelings you've been shutting down with the addictions are going to come up and…
  • Hi Audrey! Congratulations on all the terrific progress you've made and how much you've learned in the process. I'm with you that change takes time, patience, dedication and openness to learning. I also find that raw foods have improved my life in so many ways though I'm only eating raw about two thirds of the time right…
  • The average age of menopause for women in the USA is 52. So age 48 doesn't seem off to me for you to have it. I also don't see it as a problem if your periods stop if you're otherwise healthy because that means you're ready for it. The reality is that most meats come from animals raised on antibiotics, steroids and…
  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing this.
  • I like registries because they help take the mystery out of what a couple needs, especially if they've lived together awhile and have most everyday stuff. If I don't know what to give a couple, my favorite thing to do is to get the wedding invitation framed for them. EVERYONE loves this and couples rarely think of doing it…
  • Thanks! I love fresh beets and have been looking for new ideas on how to prepare them so I'll try this. You've given me an idea too: I think I'll try raw beets and oranges together in a green salad with walnuts...maybe use a lime dressing.
  • I've lived many places in the USA and a few overseas. And I'm a first generation American on both sides so I have family ties in two other countries. I've always been drawn to Tahiti, Hawaii and Puerto Rico though I'd like to see Alaska and many places in South America and Asia. So, if I moved from Louisiana, I'd have to…
  • Thanks for starting this topic so I could get all these great recipes! My latest favorite is what I call an 'apple pie smoothie' and I got the recipe from one of my MFP pals. 2 apples 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 5 pecans 1 frozen banana 8 oz almond milk (I use unsweetened) It has lots of calcium, potassium, iron and 3…
  • I think a good saying for a t-shirt would be 'I'm fat and watching what goes in my mouth. Please be careful what comes out of yours!' It sounds to me like what you're doing is self-protection, survival and a wise plan. Good for you! I didn't tell anyone but my husband, my doctor and folks here that I was making changes to…
  • It's not only time to get a new doctor, I'd report that one to your state's medical licensing board.
  • I don't have pictures to share yet but have lost over 30 pounds through diet and walking 30 minutes almost every day. I have a chronic illness that limits my ability to exercise so I do what I can when I can, e.g. I park farther away from stores so I have to walk and take stairs instead of elevators at work, etc. Anyone…
  • You are gorgeous! And I'll bet you're powerfully strong too... I hope you are extremely proud of yourself! You have given me much needed inspiration to strengthen myself and proof that it can be done. Way to go, girl!
  • How do you track the inflammatory properties of what you eat? Is there a chart or rating you use? I'd love to do this too. One of the reasons I've completely eliminated animal flesh and virtually eliminated sugar and dairy from my diet is because of their inflammatory properties. I'd still like to track the rest of what I…
  • I'm so glad you're bringing this up as I've also been reading a lot about inflammation, nutrition and its role in pain and illness. I'd love to become friends so we can support each other on this. I recommend you read "The China Study" by Campbell and Campbell and check out http://www.trivita.com/Web/default.aspx for info…
  • Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your success and being an inspiration. I love how you're planning to naturally figure out the best weight for you and then maintain it for life so it's about having a healthy life too. I hope you're celebrating!
  • Hermana, I've been there and have had to fight my way out of depression over how bad I looked, how much I ate, what I ate, etc. etc. You are being very, very hard on yourself. It's time to stop, take a step back, and reconnect with how much of a worthwhile human being you are, no matter what. You need to start praising…
