  • One of the reasons that food scales are preferred over label estimates for serving size is accuracy. If a label says a serving is 28 grams or 15 pieces, for something like chips for example, the "pieces" come in various sizes. That's not a good way to measure, whereas 28 grams is actually measurable. It may equal 15…
  • Just losing weight was enough for me. I was on meds at one time and my BP is good now!
  • Haven't yet. Finally broke down and ordered a copy at the Black Friday price along with Beyond: Two Souls. I've been waiting until the prices came down.
  • On that same label where you found the prepared data, they should also state the information for the mix only. Then just add in the rest of your ingredients to calculate it.
  • I use mine a lot! It's convenient and cooks quickly. Steaks, burgers, brats, chicken, fish, hashbrowns, etc. With chicken breasts, I pound them out so that they're a consistent thickness, usually 1/2 to 1 inch thick and they don't come out dry. They're only dry if you overcook them! Cleanup is easy IF you let the messy…
  • Look at the nutrition label on the package. Things like flour, sugar, etc. list the serving in grams and volume measure. You usually have to do a little math. Sugars tend to be listed in teaspoons for serving size, so you need to know how many teaspoons are in 1/4, 1/2 cup, etc. then figure out how many of the given…
  • For me, this is all brand new. I was always overweight as a kid, teenager and adult. I still have a little more to go, but it's certainly difficult to wrap my head around the new, nearly-normal sized me. I never knew what it was like to live life as a non-obese individual. It's a heck of a lot easier and I'm amazed at what…
  • I just paid about that for a used copy of Insanity on eBay. Oh, well...a week too late.
  • Mine turned out pretty similarly runny. Still tasty, though! I used 2 scoops of Body Fortress chocolate/peanut butter protein powder, one of those single-serve cups of PB (I think it's a little more than 2T), a single serve cup of the applesauce, so about 1/2 cup, 1/2 cup of quick cooking oats, and 1T unsweetened cocoa…
  • I'm pretty sure I've never felt hunger in my entire life. For me, it's a mental/boredom thing.
  • I've been strength training throughout my entire 100+ pound weight loss. I started out simple with machines and am now on to heavy lifting with compound movements and barbells. It's only done good things for my body :)
  • Coffee. Same as every day.
  • Congratulations! I know how hard you've worked on this and it's pretty amazing to see your progress :)
  • Yep, they have great customer service! I had the same problem with my Ultra. Sent them some pictures of the cracks and they sent me a new Fitbit One! I kept using the Ultra until the day it finally died after having it taped to hold it together for a few months. They really do stand behind their one year warranty. I've…
  • On a fasting day, no. On your non-fasting days you should be eating closer to your TDEE, so if you've got MFP set for 1200, definitely eat those back, and probably another couple hundred. You want your weekly calories to average out to whatever you would be at normally for weight loss without fasting.
  • Try using spaghetti squash instead of meat. You get the flavor when you add the spices, but way less calories. It totally works!
  • I haven't really noticed it, personally, but I've had people tell me I have.
  • That seems high. I usually buy the Frito Lay brand and my usual serving is about a half a cup (1 ounce seeds in the shell) and around 80 or 90 calories. That 360 calories sounds close to a whole 4 ounce bag of the Frito Lay brand ones.
  • I've never heard of this, but it sounds delicious! I'll have to give it a try :)
  • YEP! Lost my butt when I lost the weight! It was starting to get pancake-like for a while. I've been doing some serious heavy weight barbell back squats regularly (up to 185 pounds right now!) for the last few months and I've noticed that my butt is finally starting to look good! I never imagined I'd be trying to get a…

  • According to my urologist, when counting fluid consumption, *all* liquids count, including those in food. So, if it counts for healthy kidney function, I consider it safe to count as water. Clearly everyone has differing opinions, but if my kidney doc says everything counts, I trust that it does. Water, soda, coffee, soup,…
  • Walden Farms "peanut butter". Went straight into the trash, where it belongs!
  • I usually just make it as spaghetti. I did try it as a replacement for ground beef/turkey in tacos once. It turned out pretty good! I just cooked it as usual--I find the microwave to be easiest and generally with great results. Then I put it in a pan with some onions and the taco seasoning & water as directed on the packet…
  • Expecting it to be exactly like spaghetti, most likely. It's not the same, but it is very good! I like to take it after it's cooked and dry-fry it for a bit to get some of the moisture out before adding the pasta sauce to it. I've found that it can be a little too watery, sometimes. But again, if you're expecting it to be…
  • Give it time. With loss, it will come! I've had that problem since I was in middle school! Now at 32 years old, I think I might finally be able to keep jeans & pants for a good, long while since my thighs no longer rub together when I walk. Bonus! I can finally wear shorts without them riding up as I walk!!
  • I may just want to marry this thread :D
  • I've been doing this for a few weeks and it has helped me to get back on track after stalling out a bit. It's surprisingly quite easy to do. I generally choose to just not eat all day and use my 500 calories all for dinner. On work days, 500 calorie days are totally doable. On weekends, not so much. At least for me.
  • I just had my end-of-semester post assessment for the fitness program I participate in at work and managed to do... 27 REAL pushups! No girly, on your knees, crap here. Full pushups. I went from being able to do 9 in February to 27 today!
  • My mom once found a smushed, dried out frog stuck to the stem end of a head of cabbage or cauliflower, lol. She mailed it to the company and they sent her a bunch of coupons.
