  • One thing I can say about alcohol is that it turns into straight sugar inside of the body. So too much is probably not a good idea for weight loss, however, it sounds to me like you are drinking in moderation. I think if you are not getting trashed on the weekends then you should be good. Also, hangovers are for the birds…
  • The only thing that I can tell you comes from personal experience. Watch your sugar intake. This includes natural sugar. I find when I do not go over (or when I come in under :-) my alotted sugar for the day my stomach is much flatter. Also, make sure you are getting enough water and fiber some of that "fat" could be…
  • You poor thing. I just broke up with my guy too. We were living together and he asked for a bunch of money back on bills so now I have to rely on my mother to play catch up on my bills this month...such a pain! I can totally relate. I don't have a child to consider but I would just say take things a day at a time. I know…
  • Like a previous poster said...eat them back unless they are impeding your weight loss. If that starts happening then try eating back only half the amount.
  • HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training. It basically is what it sounds like. It's a burst of intense cardio then a period of active recovery, then another burst of intensity then some more active recovery. It's just back and forth the entire workout. If you have ever done any of the Insanity workouts or even anything by…
  • I have never understood why people come to work sick. The whole point of being sick is getting to stay at home and get rest for wellness. That is why companies invented sick leave. Some people are so nasty and inconsiderate.
  • Lots of water and a little known trick...watch your sugar. If you are going over this macro daily then this could be increasing your bloating. Everyone who is telling you to try a probiotic is also right. The bloating could be an overgrowth of yeast and yeast loves sugar! I also battle with this. The number on the scale…
  • I would say the elliptical. Just keep aware of your core, because it is not as effective if you don't pay attention to that. It works your arms too if you are doing it correctly which is an added bonus!
  • I wouldn't mind having her body either...she is beautiful!
  • Kerry Washington...hands down. Her body is sick.
  • You look fantastic. Your stomach is soooo flat. I too love Jillian Michaels...she is amazing! I just have one question, did you consume sugar while losing? If so did you hit that macro everyday or were you sometimes over? I find that for me, when I eat over my sugar alottment my stomach bloats. Just wondering if that ever…
  • I'm 5'5 and my goal weight is 127. I personally hate being in the 130s and would give anything to just get out of them. That is just me though. I feel like the 130s is heavy on my frame. I currently weigh 133 and if I could just get to 129 I'd be glad.
  • My envy runs deep...lol! I am trapped here in Dallas, TX, but will always be a SoCal girl. I'm from Santa Ana, middle of the OC. Miss it everyday!
  • If you are cleaning house...then you are burning calories. The intensity of your cleaning is something you may want to up. For me I have taken to cleaning my bathroom like it is life and death...lol. I scrub my bathtub like I am mad at it and I work up a sweat that definitely makes me feel like I have been running on the…
  • 6 Week 6 Pack is really good if you are thinking of trying that one. I also do her Kickbox Quickfix and it does wonders for target zones like your abs and arms. Haven't tried any others just yet, but I also own Jillian's Kettlbell set and it is great if you are looking to start lifting. The weights are 5, 10, and 15 so you…
  • Up a pound...but I am thinking this is muscle mass. I have been lifting pretty consistantly. SW: 140lbs CW: 134.2lbs (Damn water weight) GW: 127lbs UGW: 123 Weigh in Dates: 8/1 - 134.2 8/8 - 133.2 8/15 - 132.2 8/22 - 133.2 8/31 -
  • Definitely lift too! I was skeptical at first myself, but I have seen better results now that I have incorporated lifting into my workouts.
  • This all got really interesting. I have enjoyed reading everyone's points of view.
  • I can understand that statement but if you are of Dominican descent but were born in American...do you really want to be called African-American by default? Did you come from Africa directly? That is all I am saying.
  • This further proves my point. Her friend is from Brazil and identifies as Black. Not an "African-American" because he is in this country and his skin happens to be dark.
  • Can I just say as well that most Black people in AMERICA have NEVER even been to Africa...I know I sure haven't!
  • I personally do not want to be referred to as African American. Here is why...I do not hold a belief that all "Black" people are decendants of Africa. Plenty of people from countries such as the Dominican Replublic identify as "Black" even though they speak Spanish and are of "mixed" heritage. That is just one example.…
  • Welcome to MFP. I graduated a few years ago in 2009, but I work a desk job now too that I started December 2010. It is really hard when you are not moving around constantly. I just try to take the stairs and step up my workouts everyday. Please feel free to add me for motivation and support. :-)
  • You look fantastic...great work! Very inspirational.
  • Personally I think the girl in the photo has a great body. Her stomach is flat even though she is clearly a heavier girl. Just goes to show you that the number on th scale does NOT mean anything! Her stomach is flatter than mine and I probably weigh less. My ideal body is simply that...a FLAT stomach and not the kind you…
  • This is a tricky question. I am your height but have less weight to lose and my calorie goal is 1200. I think it really depends on what results your are currently getting? Are you seeing the scale go down on 1200 or are you just maintaining? Are you hungry all the time trying to run on 1200 a day? There are several factors…
  • It is more than likely water weight. Up your water intake and the scale will probably move next time you get on it. It's a gradual process and sometimes our body goes into shock when we first start fueling it with the right things. Hang in there. :-)
  • I don't consume chia seeds, but a friend of mine does and she soaks hers overnight and then just uses the "gel" it creates on top of the water. She puts it in her drinks too...like her morning OJ. Maybe give that a try and see if it gives your shakes a better texture.
  • You look great. Keep at it!
  • May updated stats...another pound! Very excited...we'll see what happens next week! SW: 140lbs CW: 134.2lbs (Damn water weight) GW: 127lbs UGW: 123 Weigh in Dates: 8/1 - 134.2 8/8 - 133.2 8/15 - 132.2 8/22 - 8/31 -
