OK, I will start by saying my last two thursday weigh-ins were gains, but I was confident by month's end I would get close to goal. And a little full disclosure. Had a pretty high calorie day yesterday with a big dinner to finish it off, but still under my total calories for the day by about 200 with my daily workouts.…

Great job!

I have never participated in this notion of loading up several days out, i just always have a big carb fest, pasta and bread, or pizza with some lean protein the day before a marathon, and it always seems to serve me well. You don't have to wait til dinner. I usually do it at lunch, since I like to be in bed by 6 or so the…

Silk Almond Milk unsweetened. Not great by itself, but nice with something sweet and great on cereal. No sugar and only 35 cals/cup. Tried KIND granola bars...didn't do much for me. Tasted like stale peanut brittle, not the texture I was hoping for. Still love the granola though.

Those formulas have a lot of play. Your max may be closer to 200. Or you could be out of shape. Most people would have to work pretty hard to hit mid 170s. I have to run pretty fast to get to that level.
-
Not unusual. I'm 45 and have hit low 190s in a couple shorter races in the last year or two.

As a marathon runner, I have learned to cherish rest days. When I am peaking and healthy, that usually means a 20 miler on Saturday and an 8 miler on Sunday. Mondays are sacred rest days to me and when I rest, I truly rest. I don't do a damn thing but let my body recover from the effort of the past week. And I really enjoy…

Based on your recent race results, 3:15 or better looks very achievable for you. Good luck!

Pretty awesome finish for a first time marathoner, even with the crash and burn. Beats my best time and I've run 7 road marathons. Your short race game is outstanding. 1:20 half is amazing! I think with more mileage you can run 2:55

About 54 now. Closer to 50 or just under when I am in peak shape. Make sure you are truly rested and completely immobile if you are trying to test it on your own. Even slight movement can elevate it several beats.

Check out untrahike.com for a crazy hard marathon length trail race in Pennsylvania.

Last night we had no dinner plan, so we got pizza...three and a half slices later...oy prob at least 1500 over my allotment for the day, but you know what, I needed some carbs, and its not a big deal, so I'm not going to lose sleep over it, even though I didn't even work out yesterday. Not a true binge, but a bit off the…

Swai, very mild easy to prepare fish from Thailand. Wegman's started to carry 32 oz bags frozen and individually wrapped portions. And about as cheap as seafood gets these days, $5/lb Red lentils are awesome with quinoa.

Heard that one is a riot. Friend of mine picked up a PR there.

NYC is amazing...over 100 bands along the course, amazing crowds and support, running through NYC is such a rush, and when you come off the Queesboro into the scream tunnel, it is positively electrifying. Runners from many different countries...it is just so cool. Definite bucket list marathon. Boston is obviously every…

just discovered last week and loving it too! have not had for breakfast yet.

Sometimes do both, love those days.

Started out a casual runner many years ago and now running a couple marathons a year, have done Boston several times, NYC, and others, off road marathons too. Tough Mudder coming up. Never get tired of running talk. Anyone like minded can friend me.

^this When you join MFP, it takes into account your BMR and how much you want to lose so a deficit is already built in. Any additional deficit from workout calories not eaten back would theoretically cause additional loss.
-
Stop when you're done if you want to know what you burned doing that specific activity for that amount of time. Otherwise its just a few additional calories burned walking around the gym after your workout.

Rock on, no more overhang!

I am hungry all the time. Would love to have the opposite problem :)

OMG you people! Like, I could care less, ya know. This thread is so retarded, it weighs more than fat. It's totally Jewish. LOL. My bad. Fail.

How long is this marathon you're running?
