  • Ya, I've been reading fitness gurus websites and almost all of them advocate Intermittent Fasting, some on a daily basis. And they advocate a calorie/fat dense Cheat Day. Love it. I'm never deprived.
  • Check out my diary. I rarely eat anything processed or premade. Add me if you like. I'm jealous of people who eat candy and mayonnaise and bread, but I don't like the way I feel when I eat that way. :)
  • DO IT! If it works for you, continue!! That's bottom line. Personally, I love a fast day and should do it more often. It gives your digestive system a break and it's not that hard. A 24 hour fast can last from 7 pm one night to 7pm the next night. It's not going to hurt you, that's for sure. The science is available online…
  • Yes, "you're super freaky" ~to music~ I love to lift as well and have just started last week to train with a coach. I can't wait till I breath through my eyes!!! You go!!!
  • Wow, great idea!
  • This is what works for me. Whatever you order, tell them to cook it like you want it and piece out the calories like we do when we add our own recipes on MFP.
  • Like a fish!!! It's the only thing I can tell that is hindering my weight loss, other than my age maybe? I recently read that if you ARE going to drink, don't eat much fat that day. Stick with protein and vegetables and it helps to metabolize the alcohol. If your body has fat in it to metabolize, it of course will process…
  • I so agree with this article. Thanks for posting. I too am tired of people telling me I'm not eating enough. If I wasn't eating enough, I'd be skinny!! I have been lowering my calories and upping my workouts and am losing weight. THAT'S THE WAY IT WORKS! at least for me. :)
  • I'm a mom. Keep it. If she feels that strongly about rewarding yours (and your husband's) good behavior, then keep it. She'll feel good about it. You can pay her back in other ways, and I'm sure you already have with your kind thoughts and feelings toward her.
  • She probably does feel bad that she's not losing and seeing you lose it has her feeling down about herself. My significant other didn't even notice (he was skinny) and he didn't notice a lot of other things either; hence, he's gone. LOL. Just love on her, use us for your bragging -- cuz you have the right to brag -- and…
  • I read several opinions on the low carb thing for my body, blood type(there's a book about blood types and foods you shouldn't eat), and shape (Michael Thurman), and they all seemed to agree with eachother. I really paid attention to the way I felt when I ate bread and pasta and that made me decide to cut out carbs. I feel…
  • I had a Mirena IUD put in about 3 and a half years ago. I'm 51 now. I changed my eating and exercise habits a lot since then, and I have lost around 30 pounds in the last two years. Everyone's different and my daughter thinks she gained a little since she had hers put in, but some times our minds can be very powerful in…
  • I just posted on the newsfeed board that I'm going to stop drinking and see if that is what is stalling my weight loss. I have nothing else to give up so that's gotta be it! I'll do it. I'm going to send you a sobering friend request. :)
  • its perfectly normal and everyone mostly does this around this point in their weight loss. Just keep at it. Try not weighing every day if you can do it but sometimes it works for people to keep them focused. Keep working at finding what works for you.
  • Potluck means you can bring something..........so bring something for you :)
  • I've been here since August 2010 and it has helped me a lot. Your success in losing weight with this site would be to request some friends and talk about it with people. ask questions, congratulate others, and give yourself a pat on the back for deciding to take charge. and log your food everyday and be honest of course,…
  • Stay away from those deep fried pickles!!! And ask for what you want HOW you WANT it (nicely of course) and you'll probably get it. Have a great time!! and super congrats on your loss. That was pretty fast so a great kickstart eh?

  • Woo Hoo is putting it mildly. Super congratulations!!!!
  • I just started it today myself. I'm just wondering how to log it in my exercise log. Any ideas?
  • My Girls Night Out don't usually include much food. Maybe some raw oyster shooters LOL ..........but that's probably not quite what you're looking for. Let's see ~thinking~A nice Greek Salad is easy and quick. There's always deviled eggs with LF mayo or yogurt and a little mustard and tons of tiny chopped other things.
  • Absolutely awesome. And I agree with Megan, Lucky Guy :)
  • Same here. I'm jealous. I've asked mine to come take me out to lunch and it hasn't happened. Maybe that's one of the reasons we aren't together anymore!!! ~big sigh~
  • Stranded at 172 here! Same deal although you work out more than I do. Something's gotta give at some point. i'm thinking (from the advice I get) that I'm gonna go a day on 700 calories, then 1200, then 900, then 1500, then 700. I'll post my results after two weeks if there's a change. This is only one idea; hope there's…
  • Awesome. I love hummus but good grief, it's so fattening if you buy it. Thanks for this!
  • "People cannot make you feel anything you don't allow them too." ~not an exact quote I think~ Granted though, I'd rather have sticks and stones thrown at me than name calling, cuz it does hurt. So keep those people away from you and as my wise little girl said, "Stay away from people who empty your cup; stay around those…
  • I agree with this so much. "Which foods are worth it" cuz some of them ARE WORTH IT. Everyday you are starting anew so make decisions that will make you feel good later and give yourself a cheat day once in a while, but avoid the three day in a row thing. You ARE in control of what you eat, regardless of it being on…
  • It's NOT easy. If it were everyone would do it so you just hang in there and let the guilt go. Remember how good those fries tasted and then remember WHY they taste so good LOL!!! My weight loss has been so slow and I got discouraged but now it seems that this is just the way I eat now. Maybe the slow loss for me has been…
  • What's this "date" thing you mention?
  • I know what you mean. As soon as I'd lose a little weight I'd feel good and then eat and drink to my heart's content but I think I've conquered it. I put on something tight and look in the mirror and realize I still have miles to go. I bend over and view myself from the side. I take a picture of myself and always look…
