@SarcasiticLies: Congratulations on being promoted to Paleo Police! Many Paleo "experts" (the ones writing and publishing books on this subject) agree that Paleo takes on different meanings, although the general principles are usually the same. Some of them (ready for this?!) even enjoy a little cream and sugar in their…

I have been doing Paleo on and off for about a year. Most recently though, I did it very strictly for 4 weeks (following the Whole9 approach). My only regret? No doing it sooner. The recipes are delicious and losing 8 lbs in a month was never easier! More importantly; the food you eat can be either the safest and most…

Rngrl - great response! I couldn't agree more. My husband and I run according to Hal Higdon's running program, which really couldn't be more simple for our hectic lives. http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51312/Half-Marathon-Novice-2-Training-Program Preparing to run a 1/2 marathon in 10 weeks with no base in place sounds…

I keep two binders: one that is well organized with tabs and contains all the recipes that I used to print off. The second binder, a little thinner, contains my "tried and true", recipes that I love. I also use Pinterest now for anything I find on the web. I absolutely love the site because it will store the photo of the…

Songs that inspire me.... well here are some of my favorite songs to keep my running pace up! :) Beastie Boys: Sabotage Black Eyed Peas: Hole: Violet Eminem: Lose Yourself Jet: Are You Gonna Be My Girl I dig music! Although I sometimes like to run in the woods with no music at all, I have runs that I can't imagine w/o…

This isn't exactly filling, but if you're looking to nosh on something tasty and get another fruit in for the day, this is a good go-to recipe. Plus, with fall upon us, who doesn't love the smell of cinnamon and apples baking in the…

Hello beautiful people! I've been sick the last couple days so I'm really sorry this is coming a day late. This is my most favorite salmon recipe: Quick salmon tikka with cucumber yoghurt 678 delicious calories. You can cut each naan bread in half to lower the serving size (and calories) and pair with a salad to get a…

Hi everyone! I'm Emily, from Ann Arbor, Michigan. 1. What is the #1 thing/saying/thought/whatever that motivates YOU? I just saw this on jrshipley's profile and totally love it! "Sweat is fat crying." Another favorite is from the American Red Cross that goes something like this: "You know when you exercise and you hear the…

I hope you're careful when popping the blisters, you risk infection! I used to get blood blisters too and have lost a number of toe nails..the love of running marathons can be painful! At some point along the way though I've switched to a comparable shoe by a different shoe brand and haven't had one since. Hopefully I'm…

I rarely use dressings anymore and don't miss it though sometimes I'll squeeze fresh lemon. I like simple salads like baby spinach, grapefruit, and avocado. I just discovered too that homemade granola and strawberries go well on fresh greens too. It might sound odd but those that like poppy seed dressing and berries might…

I'm like you, I like it on the go. I put a half cup of dry oatmeal in tupperware with about a half cup of frozen berries and a good tablespoon of cinnamon. Once I get to work I add hot water and nuke it for about 30 sec. It's goood!

Good luck everyone!!

yep! This is me to a T, too! I pretty much don't even bother logging it into MFP. Ugh! How to break this cycle?? I've got a rough time with that too. Maybe we should reward ourselves at the end of the weekend. Or at the end of each night of the weekend. I'll start brainstorming some ideas. If I come up with anything good,…

Women often don't get adequate amounts of protein in their diets. Adding a supplement via a shake is one of the easiest ways to up the amount of protein daily. There are different types of protein. I use whey. Soy scares me because it's basically an estrogen plant. If you have cancer in your family history, you likely want…
