Thinner Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews. This book was a game changer for me and I highly recommend it for women who want to lose fat and build a lean, sexy and strong physique. I'm currently on the 4th month of his workout plan. (He wrote a book for Men called Bigger, Leaner, Stronger too). Very easy read. Straight to…

Welcome back and congrats for stopping smoking! Just take it one day at a time... No need to stress yourself out trying to go from zero to 60. We're here for you.

Hi there! I found this article very helpful when I began my fat loss & muscle gain/maintenance program. Hope you find it useful. http://www.muscleforlife.com/build-muscle-lose-fat/

Howdy and congrats on your weight loss so far! Well done! As for using a scale to measure my body fat... I don't. It lies. I had a trainer use the caliper on me almost 3 months ago and my body fat totaled 39% (the scale had me at 46%). I'm going next week to get it measured again, but I can totally see it the progress I've…

I had the same problem with jelly beans and cheez-its, so you're not alone. This is what has been working for me... Allow yourself to eat a moderate amount each day if you want to. Forcing your brain to completely resist foods you like won't really get you anywhere. If you love Twizzlers, then allow yourself a serving or…

What's your body fat percentage? Knowing that makes calculating your BMR more accurate. See link below. Your BMR would be the minimum amount of calories to eat. Hope that helps answer your question. :) http://www.calculatorpro.com/calculator/katch-mcardle-bmr-calculator/

Hiya! I'm 5'2" and this is 6 weeks worth of weight lifting (5x/wk), a 20% calorie deficit, and sporadic HIIT sessions (3-4x/wk). I've been following the Thinner Leaner Stronger program by Michael Matthews and I plan on sticking with it for a full year, so more to come...

Thanks for your kind words. :) 6 weeks ago I was embarrassed to even take photos and here I am posting them for the MFP world to see... aaahh! Flaws and all but I'm not hiding anymore.
-
Thanks! Eager to see what my next 6-week results will look like!
-
Awesome work!!! I think I'm going to go back to a deficit just for these next 6 weeks to see where that puts me. Thanks for all the opinions![/quote] Go for it!!

Gotcha

A lot different than what? A lot different than maintaining/building muscle while losing fat? Isn't that what a body recomposition is? If not, kindly explain what you mean...
-
I can totally see the difference... especially in the oblique area. You may be closer than you think...

Here's my 6-week comparison... I'm 5'2. I lift 5 days a week and do about 90 minutes of HIIT cardio a week. I eat about 80% of my TDEE.

Hi there! I've read Thinner Leaner Stronger and as of 4/9/15 I've been following his 5-day program. I've already seen results in one week that I haven't gotten in 3 months.

I'm happy for you. Thanks for sharing.

Well done! You look wonderful!

Hola! Sex: Female Weight: 189 lbs Body Fat: approx 28% (using a caliper) Height: 5'2" Calorie Intake: approx 1650 daily using the 20% TDEE deficit method. The scale is actually moving now, whereas I was eating 1300 and was stuck on a 3 month plateau... yeah, 3 months (I believe I was under-eating and over-training). My…

Hi there! Great topic! I'm eating 1852 (80% of my TDEE) as I'm currently weight training. I JUST started eating this much after about 6 weeks of no scale movement and little inches lost. I'm already seeing results so I'm a believer in eating to fuel this body of mine to burn fat and build lean muscle.

TurboFire on Beachbody.com! After 4 years I'm still popping and shaking with it.

Thanks for sharing your story. I understand how you feel... I'm in the same boat. Lost 30 lbs then ended up gaining it all back plus a few. For me, I got so burnt out that I was only 3 lbs from my goal weight and my mind and body just shut down. I was working out like crazy and I just felt as if I couldn't keep pushing…

Your photos alone were jaw dropping! Job well done. Thanks for sharing.

That was a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing!

My jeans ripped as I was getting into the car. Enough was enough at that point.
-
Congratulations on your progress so far! Well I'm two months into working out and no one has noticed or said anything to me. Maybe by month 3 things will show more.
-
Fantastic progress. You've inspired me to make better choices everyday, not just for a span of time. Diets just don't work for me in the long run because I can't sustain that kind of restriction for a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your story so far, and I can't wait to see you at your goal weight.

If it's not too late I'd like to join! I'm starting P90X/TurboFire Hybrid on 2/1. I've done TurboFire before but have slacked off big time. Been doing TurboJam for almost a month to help build my stamina back up.

Take it one day at a time. Do something/anything that would point you towards your goal. I've found that focusing on the life I want to live is far better than dreading the upcoming workout or not-so-delicious meal ahead of me. You can do this. You will do this. :) As for sodas, fast food and chips... that's probably going…
