  • My daughter and I gave up all animal products over a year ago. It’s not hard, and there’s more food to eat than you can imagine. Our grocery bill was cut in half too. Now if you eat all the processed crap that’s vegan, then it will be expensive and unhealthy. At first it was hard reading every label, but it just became a…
  • Hi my name is Kelly and I am 53 I am new here to this group. I've been on MFP for years, always going up and down. I was finally at my goal weight and happy, then of course life stress got in the way and I thrwq it out the door. I am back at it again for the hundredth time! Hopefully this will work this time. I am dead…
  • Libby, I add when protein which I add to milk and get 33 g of protein. Also a cup of cottage cheese with some blueberries or pineapple for an eveing snack is 26 g of protein. Tasty stuff too. I use Target Vanilla Whey protein. It is not bad. Sometimes I add it to chocolate almond milk for an extra special treat.
  • thanks everyone! I eat between 70 and 125 g of protein each day. My ex husband is a body builder, however he goes to the extreme, basically only eats meat! I want a diet more balanced with veggies and fruits and nuts too. He also works to the extreme, to him benching 300 lbs one time is a workout. He spends more time…
  • 3% is great in 6 weeks!! I've been doing everything, I've been doing strength dvd's, I have 30 day shred, I also have Nike Training Club app on my phojne that I have been doing several times a week. I also just finished Chris Freytag's 2 week turnaround program. I can now run where I've never ever been able to do that in…
  • I can honestly tell you that the women who dress in sweats and large t shirts are there just to work out. They do not want to draw attention to themselves like all the girls in the cutsey outfits. I am not over weight, but I wear t shirts and running pants to the gym. I do not spend a lot of money on my workout clothes. I…
  • I have never tried her dvd's but when exercise tv was on, I loved working out with her. Shes tough, but not as hard on the knees as JM. I miss the exercise tv, every day I would search for Amy Dixon. Her kickboxing is great too. I think I will look for the dvds. THANKS!
  • Thank you for these! I'm finally at my goal weight and really need to tighten up everything, including my arms.
  • I log everything. i've lost and gained the same 5 lbs over and over again, but at least i'm not fooling myself or others by lying about it. I know what you mean about others and their healthy entries and massive amounts of exercise, yet they never lose or gain a thing. I am sure they are not being honest either.
  • im so glad to have found women in my age group! it really is different losing weight in your 50's.
  • Yep, plan your meals. It is easy to add more protein, you can add a glass of skim milk to every meal, which will add protein and calcium. Add some nuts to your salads, snack on a handful of almonds instead of any tortilla chips. Eat hard boiled eggs for breakfast or snack, snack on some lowfat cheese, add beans to your…
  • what does this have to do with fitness or weightloss

  • http://www.prevention.com/twoweekturnaround/#/Fitness-Body by Design-Total Body Toning-Two Week Turnaround Tool- Day 0 Overview totally free two week workout. I've been doing this and it is a great workout, not as hard on the knees for me as 30 day shred, or other types of jumping around circuit training dvd's. I love…
  • I do not eat the exercise calories. If I do, I do not lose weight. I want to lose not maintain, so when I do not eat them I lose. I eat around 1300-1500 calories per week and lose about a pount, which is fine for me,
  • I weigh in on Sunday mornings. I don't weigh everyday because my weight fluctuates.
  • A pound is a pound now matter how you take it in... same with muscle/fat and the misconception that a pound of muscle weighs less than fat. A pound is a pound no matter what it is.
  • I love Chobani! Their pineapple is my absolute favorite! I can't get enough of it. I just tried the mango today and it was pretty darn good. My daugher loves the black cherry too. I am not so sure plain anything tastes good. I don't think plain Chobani would either. So try the stuff with the fruit. I like it better than…
  • I used the weight I was the day I started MFP.
  • sorry having computer problems! don't know why this posted twice.
  • Welcome Debbie! I can tell you that it does work to log your food and exercise. When I first started this a while ago, I lost 4lbs the first week, and would use it a couple weeks then fall back into my old habits and then gain the weight back. Then I would start again. I must have lost and gained the same 5lbs back 3 times…

  • Nike Training Club has a free app for iPad, iPod, and iPhone. It is old fashioned drills. You choose the level and the workout and it is like there is a personal trainer there with you. You can also use your own music on your device. Not sure how to log that in myfitnesspal, but my HRM goes tells me I am burning tons of…
  • No, I don't think so. But I am not a doctor. Check with your doctor if you are concerned. Think about little kids....they run...then they ride their bike, then they swim, then they run some more and ride their bike some more and swim, and play frisbee, then ride their bike some more. They never ever stop. They also never…
  • I wouldn't worry about it, I would be HAPPY! You eat 1400 calories a day and no exercise so that is great! If I ate 1400 cals a day and didn't exercise I'd gain 5lbs. I wish I could lose 5 lbs in a week, I am stuck at 1lb a week. Congratulations, enjoy it!
  • I do circuit training for those.
  • Your weight will fluctuate throughout the day. I usually just weigh myself first thing in the morning and then record that.
  • Do you really lose if you eat all your exercise calories? I've been trying it both ways, eating them all back for a week, and lost nothing. Then I kept it about 300 under my exercise calorie allotment and I lost weight 1 lb that week. It is getting very frustrating for me!
  • I would like to NO - I NEED TO lose 10 lbs. In 7 weeks I will be taking the kids to Walt Disney World. I do not want to be embarrassed to swim with them in the pool.
