  • No problem at all, glad it's worked for those that have tried it :)
  • If you can weigh something without feeling like an idiot, then do it. Things like rice, cereal etc. I won't bother with some things that have fairly definable sizes, like 'a chicken breast'. Small, medium and large work for things like that.
  • I had a VERY similar thing with smoking. I had quit smoking for 3 months at the time, when I walked into a shop and decided to buy a pack of cigarettes. I expected it to taste how it used to taste, the smell and the feeling I got from it. I smoked half a cigarette, and it was horrible. It was nothing like I remembered. I…
  • WEIGHT THIS WEEK: 223 (-9 lbs?!?!?) AIM FOR NEXT WEEK: 220 WHETHER YOU MANAGED A FULL WEEK WITHOUT CHOCOLATE IN WEEK 1?! I had a chocolate biscuit before I read this thread, but didn't touch chocolate until this morning when the week was up! Can't believe I lost so much, I lost 2in off waist too! Don't expect a similar…
  • I ate a whole tub of bj chocolate fudge once, and I had stomach cramps for the whole of the following day! Cut back. If you can't stop yourself from eating a tub, don't buy a tub.
  • I use the Nike advert they had for the World Cup, it was entitled 'Write Your Future' The music is awesome too, really gets me pumped to sprint that last half mile!
  • Congratulations on making the first big step! You'll get so much advice and support here, that you'll never want to quit! Welcome, and best of luck!
  • You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you. You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die! Quality film :drinker: I confess that I haven't done any exercise this weekend :( Stuck doing 12 hour shifts at work. Stupid work getting in my way of having fun.
  • It doesn't really matter when, as long as it's consistently at the same time of day. Morning is the easiest because you get up, you're wearing little (or none!) and it's a bit quicker. Downside is that in winter, cold bathroom floors + being naked = BRRRRRRRR!
  • Wouldn't it be so much easier if you could 'talk' with your body and know why you are/aren't losing/gaining weight? Stupid non-talking body :grumble:
  • Is it too late to join? I've been working on my weight for the last few days anyway, so should be good to just slot in! When you say weigh-in's next Wednesday, do you mean THIS Wednesday, the 22nd? Location: Reading, UK I like: Bananas and my usual 4 mile running route! I don't like: Shin splints, calf burns, cake (I love…
  • I don't get it, why would anyone say 'I'm not attracted to you because you're fat, but you have a nice face!' People
  • I'm pretty sure us people in the UK would say something far more rude and offensive than Naff off ;)
  • My lady made an apple crumble last week, just the apple and the breadcrumbs. After I scoffed it down, I said 'And that's why I love you!'. She's the best :D
  • Because we're men, and we rely on the physical, not the emotional ;)
  • Haha, I get called cuddly all the time, in fact my partner says that she likes me being cuddly! She wants me to lose weight but 'Not too much' because she doesn't want to cuddle a bag of bones
  • The transformation is amazing! These are the kind of pics that inspire me to do well so I can post pictures of me without any flab :D Well done, keep up the great work! Mark
  • Looking great, congratulations!
  • Why do people always associate bubbly with fat? Does that mean that the definition of 'bubbly' is 'Overweight, unhealthy and likely depressed'? That really grinds my gears :grumble:
  • Welcome!
  • It's just that - An indicator. And like all indicators, it has it's flaws. The best indicators are physical measurements of waist, neck, arms, legs etc, and the real test is how fit and healthy you feel :)
  • So the only difference is your height? That'll be the reason then. Though to be honest, BMI is really only an indicator and should largely be ignored/not taken seriously
  • Plan plan plan plan plan! Plan your food, plan your exercise, and if possible, prepare your food in advance. When I'm off to work I make all my the night or the morning before I leave, then it's there sitting in front of me ready to go. I know what I have to eat and how much, and then it's easier to spread it over the day…

  • Steak mince for breakfast? Awesome!
  • I'm younger than my girlfriend by 4 years. The 'rule' for dating is half your age and add 7, so for me, I'm 26, so (26/2)+7 = 20, which sounds about right. I wouldn't go lower than 24 though
  • You may not actually know it, but by having a cheat day where you go close to or just over your calorie intake on that one day per week, you are actually doing the 'zig-zag' method, which is where you stick to your BMR for 6 days then on your 'Zag' day you eat to your normal Calorie limit. What this does is keeps your…
  • Welcome! Agreed on every point you make, logging makes it easier and more interesting to count calories. Best of luck! Mark
  • I've read the exact opposite! Protein shakes are fine after your run, but I also read that your body continues burning calories for the hour after you finish running, however if you eat anything it'll instantly stop doing it. So don't eat anything for 45 minutes-hour after cardio :) Mark

  • Congratulations! :D
  • Best of luck to you! t'll be great, you'll feel so good when you're finished! My only tips are to make sure you stretch properly! Take your time to make sure you're nice and limber, maybe jog for a 3 minutes at 75% intensity to get your heart going! When you're running, concentrate on your breathing and ignore everyone…
