  • Congrats! You both look so great..and So much younger! Keep up the great work!
  • I've also been seeing a lot about juicing lately-even at church yesterday two people were sharing juicing recipes! Neither had a weight issue BTW and neither were doing it for religious purposes. I personally do not feel it would be for me..I like to eat..if I didn't I wouldn't have a weight problem! I know I need to chew…
  • Lately my krunchy snacks have been low sodium dill pickles...bold yum and really kicks a crunch craving..and others have said carrots/cucumbers but i make a dip using fat-free greek plain yogurt mixed with a hidden valley ranch dip packet (find near salad dressings)...makes a yummy good for you dip!
  • Opps...forgot to state..the 100+ lb loser focused on staying at or slightly under their calorie goal only...calories in vs calories out is where it is at!
  • I struggle with the same problem..I can see a lot of my sodium comes from prepackaged items or sliced meats or soups..really only low sodium stuff is not processed. I am eager as well for any tips...I did see a post a while back from a 100+ lb loser who said they never worried about it (providing there was no underlying…
  • Not sure if your scale is digital or not..but mine require recalibrating if I move them. Mine you simply step on and off and a little box drives across the screen and it's all recalibrated. Check your owners manual to see if you must recalibrate yours. Also..LOL..this is why they say don't weigh daily! Sorry had to say it…
  • I have the FitBit One..and LOVE IT! I only wish it had a HR monitor and I'd be a happy clam! It works great for overall calorie burn.keeping myself focused all day...but with intense exercise like Zumba or dance..it doesn't reflect an accurate calorie burn as it just doesn't seem to get the intensity right. For those heavy…
  • What she said..I actually came BACK to this post to say how could I forget my zumba workouts??? Either find a great instructor (AND not all are created equal!!!) or invest in the DVDs..but know that a $5 class is WELL WORTH the energy of others you'll feed off..ALSO..get your butt up front! You can see better to learn…
  • Lots of people suggested the scale and weights that I'd suggest..but wanted to put a great word in for my eliptical. I LOVE IT! It took me time to build up but now can do 40 mins a day..important thing is to know before you spend this money on a big ticket item you will commit to it. I cleared out half my living room (it's…
  • A cup is a measuring cup--8 ounces are in a cup. If you google any weight or measurement you don't understand..it will give you conversions for ounces/metric/lbs ect.
  • While the focus of this thread has migrated to cosmetic appearance of the skin...I urge you to get the hernias taken care of NOW. This is not anything to mess around with-I speak from experience. I lost my mother last year due to complications from a hernia surgery that she put off so long her intestine got strangled off.…
  • You've unleashed a monster topic! Search the forums using the search feature and you'll see this topic debated a million times over heatedly..all with no true answer..yes the calories available increase due to exercise..whether you should eat them back or not-well that is a hot topic here. You'll have to figure out what…
  • I too seem to be having the same issue..I have a couple that are active and the rest have disappeared..but I have to understand..it is not time for their journey they are not prepared. I AM AND WILL continue on..alone or with others, I'll get healthier and in shape. In the end, only we can make the choices, suffer the…
  • As our society has "grown"--so has their perception of what is "normal" body weight. My husband has always struggled with this..while I struggle to lose weight, he has always had issues keeping weight on..and has weighed 125-130 since high school-which is great weight for his height and build..even the doc's agree he is…
  • I use it too but find it is a couple hundred calories generous..BUT I do not eat my exercise calories back so it's really just to give me an idea, a motivation..not to eat back every possibly calorie burned. Perhaps only eat 50% if that's what your looking to know the numbers for..then you can be safe. It would really suck…
  • Thanks for the website..I've been wondering what types of fruit/veggies people use for different combos...this site looks awesome! Thank you!
  • See a therapist..LOL! (JK had to..) No seriously--you can be "skinny" fat..if your low in weight but really out of shape..I'd focus on getting FIT...start toning up the flab and you'll see a lot of changes..be warned..you may gain a pound or two in muscle but you'll look totally better!
  • HA--scare should be SCALE!!! And to clarify--I feel MPF is generous in their calorie burn for exercise too...I don't use that as a license to "eat back" all I've burned off..it's my cushion for the possible wrong measurement or if I want a few bites of a treat.. Don't see the point in "eating back" what I busted my…
  • First question I'd ask you..did MPF set your calorie allowance or did you? Seems high to me-I am over 100lbs heavier then you and have only a daily of 1460 set to lose 2lbs a week. I work out 5-6 days a week..but set it for sedentary as I did not want to count on having extra calories to spend that I may not earn…
  • Exactly what I was gonna say-this is not a diet for me but my new way of life..some days I'll splurge but for the most part I am making good, healthy choices and that will offset it! Also..I invited them to my house..THEN announced we're doing a taco bar..this way I can load up on the veggies..still have some treats..and…
  • It's seems to always be this way in the beginning..your in the new romance stage..you've decided your gonna lose weight, you've been inspired by success stories...and your mind says "eat even less and you'll lose more faster". Problem is..its not a sustainable lifestyle. If you want to lose weight AND keep it off...you…
  • One way to avoid all this "overage" on accident is to quit choosing prepackaged crap. That's where all the calories and crap is hidden! Chose healthy options fresh veggies, lean protein, whole grains--the less things are messed with by man-the better they are in your body! A great example is that Subway came in under-their…
  • To plan your meals/days ahead..when you go to your food log-at the top it says "Monday and the date" (or whatever day it is)..use the arrows to scroll the days forward or backward. I scroll forward to preplan and print off the days so I can see them. If I have a blueprint to follow with snacks ect planned I do much better.…
  • I was having some of the same issues but found that if I took the time on Sunday (or whatever day you have off) to plan out my entire weeks food log-I can then print the days-use the list to shop and each day I know exactly what I am going to eat-how I will make it, ect. You can forward the days in your food log to help…
  • I too am having this same issue with my zumba class that starts at 6pm. Nonzumba days-I eat arounf 5pm, if I do that on zumba days I feel way to stuffed to get into it. Tried eating after-was too weak and not in the mood to eat afterwards. Last week I tried eating about 1/2 of dinner around 4:30 and then forcing myself to…
  • LOL I agree with the chips! I have been grateful my craving has been pickles and LOTS of banana peppers! High sodium but low calorie LOL!
  • That may be the issue too the potassium..I remember when my grandma took dietetics they gave her potassium too..I will start adding in the oj or a banana..all great suggestions! I just have never had this kinda of feeling before..I now can sympathize with those ladies with strange food addictions!!!
  • Ahh that's a good point..I did not drink as much water yesterday as normal and did an hour of zumba..I bet there is a connection there! Thanks for the feedback-I will increase my water and see if that helps..
