Well done everyone, and thanks for your replies. I walked a half marathon a few years ago - no way I could do that at my current fitness level so I have much respect for your upcoming challenges.

I just found this challenge again. My fitbit died and I haven't been counting steps/kms for quite a while but the lovely people at fitbit have sent me a new one so I'm back in business. Completed my 100 plus a bit more today. All walking, morning beach walks with my dog helped :-) As long as I get that walk in I can be pretty sure I'll get my 10,000 steps a day.

I'll join you on this challenge. I walk on the beach with my dog most mornings and use my Garmin Vivofit to count steps. Yesterday was 10270.

I'm a walker - too old and heavy to run :-( My dog encourages me to get out for a walk every day so will just need to up the distance a bit which will be good for both of us! I'll be logging in kms.

I'm in too! Just back with mfp after a long break and have a couple of weight loss goals for next year so this challenge is perfect. I'll be logging kgs though as I'm in New Zealand. Hope that's ok with admin?

I have had a fitbit ultra (no longer available) but after breaking the clip twice replaced it with a vivofit. However I find the wristband bulky and uncomfortable to wear and am thinking of getting another fitbit (thanks for the tip about using flybuys - never thought of that!). Both the ultra and vivofit have plus points…
