I lifted and was a marathon runner for years. While this made me "fit", it wasn't until I started practicing yoga that I became toned and picked up flexibility, balance and stress reduction. I know I am far stronger now because of yoga. Do a hand stand for three minutes and tell me that's not strength training. The real…

Great job on the weight loss and the work outs! I'd be happy to lend support so friend me if you want. I'm here in Northern California where it's 70 degrees and we are praying for a little rain...

Even worse, baby, I'm a BEATNIK...

Three words for you, buddy: young - stupid - wrong. Happy holidays!

WOW! You look like two different people! Congratulations! You certainly seem to have your weight loss program in proper perspective with a realistic approach. You're an inspiration.

You have answered you own question. No breakfast works for you so keep working it! For me, I'm the opposite so I have my oatmeal. To each his own.

I kind of had this but then I directed my energies into my fitness level and seeing all I could now do with my "new" body. I learned, at this weight, I could do a lot of very enjoyable things (yoga, biking etc...) at a level I could not do before. This has become my motivation for maintaining my weight and gotten me away…

The length of hair is immaterial. I am far more interested in the quality of the head beneath the hair. Be daring...go for a change and find out!

I was at that meeting and I, too, voted yes.

Yes. My wife is a grammer school teacher and exposed to all kinds of stuff so we have gotten them for years. We rarely get the flu and, when we do, it is a mild case. We have never had an adverse reaction and we will get them again this year.

I've been drinking diet coke throughout my entire weight loss program. I have lost the weight and I have not mutated into anything unforeseen. I'm keeping my diet coke.

Timing is very important for me. Over time, I have come to know when I will get hungry during the day so I eat my meals and snacks before or at that tme every day. I've been in maintain mode eating 1650 calories a day for six months and this approach has worked for me. I am rarely starving. The biggest thing is what I eat.…

You look amazing and you can and will keep the weight off. I've been in maintain mode for 5 months with no problem thanks to sticking with MFP. If I can do it you can too.

I think your legs look just fine..But, good old fahion running - and lots of it; outdoors, not on a treadmill - really changed the look of my legs and built a lot of definition.
-
Welcome. Perhaps the toughest part is already behind you: You are here! Stick with it, be compassionate with yourself and lean on MFP friends. Add me if you like.

"I'm not dead"...."Well, he will be soon"

Wow!...Wow!...Wow!!! You look fantastic!

Yes. Science.

I think you can loose 200 lbs immediately. Dump your boyfriend. (100 lbs in four months...no.)
-
I totally agree.
-
I couldn't agree more. The hardest part is showing up and starting and that is already behind you. You will do this! The only thing that can stop you is if you stop. Don't stop! When I see new folks struggling at the gym I remember how hard it was for me at the start and I admire them. I admire you.

You look remarkable and 15 years younger! Great work!
-
Thank you. Your story so far is wonderful and inspiring!
-
Wonderful work! I hope you are very proud as well you should be.

No cheating for me. I either stay below my calorie count for the day or not. If not, I make sure I know why and try to do better the next day. I do not beat myself up.

Do the 5K! It gives you a tangible (and public) goal. Besides, it is great fun! I would check to see that you have a good pair of running shoes that are fitted by a pro at a good running shop. That might help with the ankle problem. Train slowly, but steadily. Don't go out and try to run 5 miles if you have yet to run 1…

Way to go! You have come a very long (and positive) way on every level!

I'm a Libra too. That's why I try to eat balanced meals. My wife is a Taurus so I guess that means she has to eat a lot of bull (mostly from me - thank God she's a saint.):smooched:

I try to think of five things that happened during the day for which I am grateful. Some days it's harder than others but I usually get to five with a little thought.

I love breakfast! I also find a sensible, low cal lunch is all I need if I have had breakfast. Since I started my weight loss journey I have branched out from cold cereal to oatmeal and am really getting into it. I have to make good choices with breakfast because, not that long ago pancakes, eggs, waffels etc.. were all on…
