  • Try to stick to low glycemic index foods, set reasonable weight loss goals, drink plenty of water, but most of all don't be too hard on yourself. I am in the same boat as you and have lost 30lbs on this site. Lots of support here. Good luck to you :)
  • I'm with you on the BMI thing. I don't agree with it at all and I'm gonna go with an ideal with that I feel is healthy for me. It says I should be 140, but i'm going for 160 as that seems more comfortable for me. Do you girl :) Best to you

  • When I was taking it, I was as high as 2000 mgs a day and when I stopped it at I was at 1000 mgs a day. I stopped it on my own just a few weeks ago. I talked with my OBGYN who was fine with that. I'm in a much healthier space now then when I first started taking Metformin. However, if my body starts doing wacky things I…

  • I've pretty much been over on my sugar everyday since I started MFP in October or 2010. I don't worry about it too much because most EVERYTHING has sugar in it. I just figure now that i'm tracking my sugar, i'm not eatting as much of it as I was before I started tracking it. This is a tough area to get under control, but…
  • I injured my L-knee cap after my first half marathon in April of this year. I haven't been able to work-out like I want to since. Walking and low impact treadmil is all i've pretty much been able to do. The knee is gettin better, but it's a slow heal and it sucks!

  • It's irritating for me too, but I just say, "whatever" and keep it pushin. Don't be distracted by the journey of others. Stay focused and keep moving forward girl. Now, let's get it!

I came close to carrying full term this last time, but it was only because I had lost weight. My OBGYN is convinced that the more weight I lose the better chance I have of carry this next…

  • Congrats on joining the journey to a healthier you. I have been on here for almost 3 months now. Don't be too hard on yourself, set realistic expectations, and if you stumble while trying, get up the next day and start fresh. Everyday is a new day. • I have been working hard at trying to lose weight for the longest. I have tried a lot of different things. Dieting doesn't work for me at all and i'm just now getting the exercise thing down. This site is the only program that I have been able to be consistent with and I don't feel deprived of food. I am about to hit my 2…
  • I'm reading "The Final Years of Michael Jackson Unmasked" by Ian H. I'm also reading "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara E. Both are interesting books that I can hardly put down when I'm reading them.
