  • Rachel, distance is more important than speed for end results. For example I walk about 4mph and do so for about an hour and burn as many calories as someone running much faster. Walking is easier on the joints besides ;-). I would combine long distance fast walks with ab related muscle building exercises like crunches…
  • For constipation issues I always recommend probiotics. Something with 30billion+ should clear up constipation problems pretty quick. If you can get some prebiotics in there with them then even better! I had IBS type issues for 4 years that docs could never get under control. Finally said screw em and researched stuff…
  • The voices in my head. Currently they're telling me that it's late and I should go to bed :P
  • That is one really long interview! Probably something light since most people have the stomach butterflies going during one of those.
  • Haha no, I actually have a 4 year old daughter. Nice try though ;-)

  • Good luck! It's worked well for me and the smartphone app is really handy for scanning barcodes etc...have fun :)
  • The only ones I've looked into are Japanese Bento boxes. They contain little compartments for various foods and are typically used to control portion sizes and make sure there's a large variety of food in lunches. I've seen a few on amazon that even have pictures on the bottom of each section to indicate what you should…
  • Honestly any fake sweatener is questionable in my mind. Stevia being the odd duck out as it's an extract from a plant [hard to be concerned there]. I had a diet pop every now and then [yes has aspartame] but otherwise keep sugars [including artificial ones] to a minimum.
  • Honestly for me as long as I was attracted to them emotionaly and physicaly....it really wouldn't matter their age one way or the other. Although I'm 28 and married so not really something I worry about anymore ;-).
  • I'm doing a pretty similar one from Livestrong: http://www.livestrong.com/blog/30-day-ab-challenge/
  • Sugars are essentialy empty pointless calories. And your body breaks it down and can store it as fat if you eat too much or give it sugar shock first thing in the morning for breakfast. As was previously mentioned added sugar and refined sugars are the big enemy. I have a banana in my smothie every morning which doesn't…
  • Sometimes what I've done is find a identical recipe online somewhere that lists the nutritional content. Then I just create the food and put in that nutritional information. The internet is vast enough that I have yet to not find something like that where someone's already done the work for me.
  • I used to just dump internation delights creamers into mny coffee. Then I realized the serving size is just 1 tbsp lol oops. So now I'm down to just 1 tbsp. It's just enough to make the coffee palitable for me. Rather dislike black coffee :-/
  • The problem I would have with that is that apples wake me up. So, for me anyway, it wouldn't be a good idea before bed. At other times of the day though man I love me an apple!
  • I get home from work at around 12:30AM and have a bowl of Special K Original and Almond Milk. Then about 2 hours later I go to bed. It serves as my "supper" meal of the day and works for me :-).
  • I found this group due to a post one of you made on one of those threads. So, thank you very much!
  • I'm a guy so MFP sets my caloric goal a bit higher than the ladies. It tells me 1800 a day but I tend not to eat that much. I got down to about 165lbs about a year ago and then blew it :-(. So am trying to get back down there.
  • Sad but true :-(. I am also a fulltime employee and find sandwiches and healthy snacks [green bell pepper slices in homemade dip as an example] to be the easiest way to do this at work. I just started trying to eat cleaner too and my hurdle is the wife's cooking. She cooks really awesome food but it's a lot of it heavily…
  • I had this problem for the longest time and still linger right at or over the goal MFP set for me. I ended up cutting out a lot of the heavily flavored sandwich meat and going with basic oven roasted chicken deli meat. Way less sodium and just so happens to be lower in cals too.
  • I try my darndest to eat as clean as possible. I sometimes falter a bit but my diary is open too.
  • Lol, sugar...lol oh my...I won't say more :-D
  • Cause it's not the "in" thing to do. It's not "cool". And people don't like to be held responsible for anything anymore, especialy not for what they're doing to their body when they eat terribly unhealthy things.
  • Every co-workers except one goes out to eat everyday. Most of the time it's King sized Burger King. They look at me strange when I pull out my homemade lunch. They also always try to get me to eat out with them. But in the end I am also way healthier than they are and smaller in rotundness than they are so I don't let it…
  • I have always had a soft spot [see what i did there hahaha] for their mexican pizzas that aren't technicaly remotely mexican. Now if I go there, which is rare, I'd get a fresca bean burrito as it's close to if not the lowest calorie option.
  • Wait...since when is skipping breakfast good? Any scientific accredited research I've ever seen says breakfast is essential. And yes it matters if it's McD's McCafe versus bowl of healthy cereal. In the end I only control what smart nutrition choices I make so I guess do what you feel is right for you and good luck.
  • I'm down to just below the MFP recommended sugar level for me per day [about 73 i think it was]. Some days I'm down to 40 other days im 2 over but I typicaly stay around the 70 mark. All the sugars are naturaly occuring in vegetables or fruits or dairy [yogurt].
  • To me eggs are like what "experts" say about butter versus margerine. They change their mind every year whether it's good or not for you. My advise to people always is try it and see. Everyone's body is different and reacts differently to everything. So just because it may spike cholesterol for the one person they had in…
