^^ what? It's all good to be proud of your nationality, where you come from etc It's not just about being proud of where 'your mother was', its about identity and culture. It's ok to be proud of whatever culture you are from - in fact that's a great thing! Whether it's American, Pakistani, Quechua, Maori, British ...…

Awesome transformation. And also interesting that you said your measurements were also fairly static. I've been lifting for a yearish now and measurments haven't changed much either, but it's a relief to know the muscles can still pop out regardless!

I agree with the last post. And I'm not going to get out a dictionary. But when so many people do it, it can certainly come off that way. BE NICE GUYS!!! It never hurt anyone.
-
And there's a nice way you can do it and a not-so-nice way. I've definitely seen the latter.

So someone's offered to help others and everyone is showering her with abuse. What a cool bunch of people on MFP. This is why I don't go into the forums.

I don't know the quantities of what you're eating, but just from looking at the range of food there, you're probably not eating enough, especially if you are doing Insanity. Try adding in a complex carbohydrate (ie wholegrain bread) at lunch and dinner. Ideally you should be getting 1 complex carb, 1 source of protein and…

Congrats on your weight loss first of all. 2nd of all - that sounds like it could be an anxiety disorder? I'm no expert but it might help to talk to a doctor about it. Good luck :)

go you! what mountain was it?

Reading this is so encouraging! I'm in the same boat ... eating more but terrified of gaining and undoing all the hard work. And my 'eating more' brain has yet to catch up to my 'eating more of the right thing' brain. I top up cals with bad stuff instead of adding more into my snacks and meals. RRrrrr. I've been in this…

Eat right. Lifting is still exercise as well - when you lift you're burning calories during and after the exercise. The trick is slow + steady.... logging food with MFP definitely helps, but don't go too low. NROL4W has some very good advice about eating + what to eat, but you have to make it workable for you.

well done on your weight loss. Excited to read your story as in a little over a month I'll be doing my first half marathon too. Congrats :) (and what a great time!) If you don't mind me asking, how did you prepare for it? and I've added you as a friend :)
-
Added :) I'm also 20 and training for a 1/2 marathon!

Hi! I'm a 20 year old university student from NZ and have recently joined the university rowing club. So far I love it! Erg sessions are a bit of a drag and we've only been out in the 8s a couple of times (scariest experience of my life) but it's wonderful to do a team sport again and have people telling you what exercise…

you snack on frozen peas because you know anything else 'nibbly' that you want to eat will put you over your calorie allowance the guilty feeling from drinking alcohol is even stronger because you know that you not only have a hangover, you've gone well over your calories for the day (which day?) and it also made you buy…

you're a fantastic step mum! I wish my mum had really listened to my pleas about my body image when I was your step daughter's age, and done more to help me. I'm still fighting with the habits I grew up with to do with food . . . If you do have to bring up 'calories', which not switch the word to 'energy'. That's more…

As I have recently left my teenage years but have younger siblings, I can throw in a different perspective for y'all (in saying that, I have yet to read all the posts). I definitely don't/didn't mind doing jobs if I knew I was part of a team. What I hated was being asked to do chores when I knew my siblings/parents didn't…

Amen to that. Except the skinny jeans part - I like guys in skinnies or chinos, who care about how they dress: guys who wear anything < guys who care about how they look but aren't vain

Heya, I had a similar problem as well, last month. I would wake up feeling incredibly dizzy, and have heaps of dizzy spells during the day, couldn't concentrate and felt generally weak and unfocussed. I was exercising, and not really eating back my exercise calories. My goal was at 1350, and I went over some days and on…

i'm in the same boat - and I have absolutely no idea what to do about it ... I eat good food (when there is no baking around me!) and exercise, mix up my exercises etc. I might try intermittent fasting, but I'm worried about being hungry! I eat every 2-3 hours and don't know if I could not have breakfast. But might give it…
