  • I'm in the same boat and so frustrated/sad/mad. Lost around 50, but have put 20 back on. I ate pretty much the same way, but stopped tracking as I started working out more, and was trying to respond to hunger cues not numbers. Well clearly that doesn't work as I gained 10+ lbs as I trained for my marathon. I ran it, then…
  • 38D while nursing/50+lbs heavier to 34-36A. It's ridiculous; I look like a child. I wanted to lose weight because my belly stuck out more than my boobs, and now it does MORE. Hate. it.
  • And that is UK Cadburys, not the stuff Hersheys tries to pass off as Cadbury here in the States. Yeah, I'm a lot jealous right now, especially about the Creme eggs- UK ONES ARE THE BEST! I'll pay for shipping? ;) But yeah, divy it out into servings you're okay with fitting into your daily plan. The reality for me is that…
  • With about 10 lbs to go to goal, I've not really been working on losing lately and have put a couple back on. I've kept up the exercise, but eating has been way off. You know what? That's okay. I know what I have to do to go in the other direction. Right now, I just don't WANT to. I want to focus on other things- some…
  • Well done!!
  • Had a few miles of my run under 10min/mi this morning. Oh, and that I can run several miles - never could until last year. Now, trying to work on making my 1/2 marathon faster. Crazy.

  • Thanks! And funny you should mention, 4legsRbettert - I do that with my breakfast, too! I get up at 4am, workout, get the kids ready and commute, and don't eat anything until I'm sitting at my desk- usually around 9:30-10. I sort of figure if I'm gonna be hungry anyway, might as well draw it out a bit, so my next snack is…
  • I have bananas on my counter just waiting to for me to try these... thanks!
  • My brain knows we can vary in weight 5lbs or more a day, and over the course of a week, but I agree- it's still such a bummer when you get on the same scale, or a new one, and see that go up when you can't think of anything to cause that. Frustrating. I try to just let it go but I won't like, seeing a number I didn't like…
  • I aim for 100-120g a day, and I'm by no means a vegetarian, I just don't care that much for meat. Challenging! I almost always do a protein shake for breakfast. I have several flavors, mostly chocolate based, and figured out how to make it like hot chocolate in the winter, and icy shake-like when it's warmer. 24-30g right…
  • Interested, thank you!
  • Be sure you've set your settings properly for weight, height and age, but over all it should be fairly reliable. Don't forget to adjust them for every 5lbs or so change. Also, be sure to thoroughly rinse the strap after every workout, and toss it in the washer ever 5 or so - be sure to take off the transmitter and no…
  • I really like my Brooks Ghost 6, which I got at... the running store after they did the analysis and evaluated several different brands/models. It's worth your time, and nothing says you have to buy them there, where there won't likely be much of a discount. However, I found, too, that for some brands, all you're going to…
  • I don't usually take time off and continue with my next run/exercise session. I find that even if I start sore, by the time I get warmed up I don't even notice it. Well, until I get back home and out of the shower and try to go down the stairs. ;). But even then, it doesn't hurt any more, just about the same.
  • Big ole granny panties. Really big ones, too, since they're pairs I wore when I was 50lbs heavier. I'm prone to infections, so they must be cotton, not synthetic, and I make it a point to change out of them ASAP. And, thanks to three kids, when jumping during Zumba, I'm prone to urinary leaks, so I always have to wear…
  • Yawn- 4:30 am at the latest just about every weekday. I get anxious if for some reason I can't and have to wait until the evening.... like its hanging over my head all day and then I really have to psych myself up to go and do it. In the morning, I figure "well I already got up, better get this done."
  • Bumping to save, thanks!
  • Keep searching the forums- there were a few posts awhile ago that had links to Zumba playlists - complete 30-45 min workouts; playlists that people put together and shared. About this time last year, I took one of those original ones, saved all the videos into separate playlists then did searches like "zumba cool down" or…
  • I'm doing the DC Rock & Roll half too- my first! Following that up with the Cherry Blossom 10-miler in April.
  • My original goal at a 16/18 was 8. Now I'm pretty much in 8s, and a couple 6s (and a couple 10s all depends on brand), but I'm not happy with my body at the size I dreamed of. I still think I'm huge. Then I remind myself, anybody who fits in an 8 can only be "so" big, but I'm still not happy with it. So I've bumped my goal…
  • I have an FT4. I've been happy with it. I don't need to sync it to my computer, or phone, etc- I don't mind entering in the #s manually. I've taken it in the pool, thru mud runs, and train with it for every cardio workout. Sometimes, when I have just rinsed the strap, and not fully washed it, I get funky readings- usually…
  • In for 100!
  • Yep! My goal is to stay where I am for the next couple of weeks, weight wise, and not really track too closely. I actually haven't been really strict about tracking for a few weeks already, and have lost a little, though I totally admit I'm getting a little loose with that, and need to rein it back in, or I'll start to…
  • Once I completed the c25k program, I didn't do the 10k one. Instead, I found some of the free plans on Runkeeper.com - I started with Running for Fat Loss which I liked- it integrated slow/easy runs, sprinting, fartlek, etc. From there I moved to one of the half marathon plans. In between, I just sort of added time to my…
  • I had never run in my life. Outright REFUSED to. But decided I wanted to try an obstacle/mud race with some friends, and didn't want to look like a big idiot, so started their recommended c25k plan. That was in the spring. I'm currently training for my first half marathon next spring, and making lists of other races/mud…
  • The Wilson Bridge half would take care of both VA and MD- nice scenic run over the bridge that connects the two, just south of DC. The Marine Corps Marathon and 10k are well known- you have to enter a lottery to be chosen to participate. Those are in VA. Army 10-miler is a lottery, too, in DC. Cherry Blossom 10miler and 5k…
  • On days that I run or do Zumba (or both) I'm at 20k+ - I run about 4-5 mi and that's often a bit under the 10k. Even a short walk will boost up those steps, if thats all you have time for. On strength days, where my steps are much lower, I'm rarely under 10k. Looks like this: - Get up, do a couple Zumba songs to warm up,…
  • I don't have a photo, but I do this so my kids learn from the start how to live a balanced, healthy life, and don't have to struggle to re-learn how to do that. I may not always succeed, but I am to teach by example.
  • Definitely keep your knees covered with capri's or pants- those mud pits are full of little rocks and they hurt! Wear close-fitting clothes, preferably poly/dryfit type fabrics, not cotton- when they get wet they get heavy, and if they're loose, it's annoying to have them flapping around, they can also chafe. The water/mud…
