I know authors want to make money, that doesn't bother me. It doesn't mean that some books aren't helpful. And yes calories in vs calories out is a simple rule to follow, but what about the psychological and motivational support that many people need to even care about the calories?

Thanks, rebolaugh! Would love to have you as a pal.

Thank you for reading trixieloo & nuttynanners!

I understand you completely! I've gained some weight back (that's another story), but I lost a total of 75 pounds at one point. My face became really skinny and my neck began to wrinkle a little. My boobs looked horrible! Instead of worrying about the fat, I worried that I looked older than my age. I didn't drink nearly…

Thanks for responding-I think i need to start using my scale more!

I got rid of them! I kept them for about 6 months and then mustered up the courage to clean my closet. I realized that I needed to start thinking of my weight loss as permanent and not temporary. The clothes served as an expectation that one day I'd be back there, again. But, I'm trying to think of myself as being in…

Great NSV:smile:

It's good to contain the explosion. Meaning, that if you don't let yourself have certain foods once in a while, you're more likely to binge and it's harder to stay on your plan. I eat Chic fila every so often. I get the regular sandwich, but no fries!

Unfortunately, I am one of those people! I rarely get all my veggies in and don't drink nearly as much water as I need to. However, I would highly, highly recommend eating your fruits and veggies and avoiding processed foods! I'm trying to avoid the junk from this point forward- it would have been much easier to do this,…

Wow- this is one of the most impressive transformations I've seen! You're in amazing shape!

Okay- I'm ordering her videos today! You look great :)

Thank you for the feedback! I guess I get worried that I won't be able to maintain the journaling, even though I've done it for the past 7 months now. I have this little voice in my head that keeps saying, "You've done it so far, but do you really think you can do this your entire life?" I think a lot of the doubt is…

Ok- all of your stories have been incredibly gross, but I have one that takes the cake. While eating a can of Vienna Sausages, my Dad found the tip of someone's finger.

I completely agree- I'm a marketing professor and have studied the persuasive "techniques", the food companies have used. I always argue with my friends who say "We all have free choice, just don't eat the junk food." While I agree, we do have free choice, most of us don't realize what we're up against. Advertisers are now…

I don't spy on anyone else's food-lol! However, looking in my basket and seeing veggies, proteins, yogurts, and other healthy stuff is an NSV everytime. Seriously, I've taken pics of my grocery cart before :) However, I'm slacking and I need to do a better job of avoiding the processed stuff and cooking my own meals.

You are gorgeous, girl! Green is your color. Congrats on your success :)

Congrats on your amazing loss! I like the idea of finding new activities to keep me active and motivated! Your kayaking and white water rafting trip sounds amazing! Thanks for the advice.
-
Thank you~ I agree that keeping track of the calories is going to be critical in maintaining the weight.

I only like cold water. Also, I use a big bottle that holds about 6 cups of water in it. I try to drink at least one bottle. Honestly, I haven't been doing so great myself!

Realizing that my identity and weight were not one in the same. And realizing that I was very blessed to have the life, family, and friends that I had. I believe that being at peace with myself helped me to avoid all the desperation and negativity that usually comes with the fad diets!

First of all, WOW! From a size 32 to a size 18?! That's incredible! A few years ago, I took my niece and nephew to a Six Flags. I was originally a plus-size 22ish and had dropped down to a regular size 16/18. I had been to an amusement park when I was a size 22W and the seatbelt had fit, though barely and it was…

Thank you- it seems like vinegar and/or baking soda is the best way to go!
-
Thanks! Can't wait to get home and try. Although, I think I will have to invest in some of the stink-reducing clothing-lol!
-
Thank you for the advice- I think I will try to get some tech and moisture-wicking clothes!
