I've had a double chin all my life, but I've been heavy all my life. I know some people who lost weight and got a double chin, because the excess fat filled out their neck tissue. When the fat goes, the tissue gets wobbly! I've just started working again on losing weight, but this is one thing I dread.

Made delicious ratatouille for dinner. Here's the recipe: 4 14.5 ounce cans whole tomatoes; 2 eggplants, cubed; 3 zucchini, sliced; 1 red pepper, sliced; one onion, sliced, 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning; 1 teaspoon garlic powder; salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil and simmer in big stock pot for 2 hours. It will come…

Excellent job!

I like your solution best! It's not as complicated!

But paper towels don't always flush.

Everything you've said applies to me. I have to be REALLy motivated to cut back my food intake, and I obsess about food. I wish there was some way to conquer this but I don't have any lasting answers. Just do the best you can and make sure you make exercise a regular part of your life.

OK, I'm 59, and will turn 60 in October. I simply cannot go into my 60s this large! I weighed 202 at the doctor's this morning. I need to get down to 160 or even 150. I'm in panic mode, which I know isn't good, but I have so many health issues related to my weight (diabetes, bad knee mainly). I wish I had some advice for…

good advice!

10 pounds in months is great! Wish I could do that! As for not exercising, you said you walk 20-25 minutes a day. That's exercise, so log it and you get more calories. As for junk food, small amounts are ok (although plenty of people on here will disagree with me) to lose weight if it helps you from bingeing or keeps you…

You can do it, and we're with you! I'd love to have you as a friend! AW

You're going to hate what I have to say, but this guy is NOT for you. He criticizes how you look and he eats all your food. Listen to what you're saying. He's not loving you the way you'd like, he doesn't accept you as you are, and he is exploitive in taking advantage of your food situation. I'm assuming you are young. I…

You can do it!

Good for you! Keep it up1

Science tells us that 95% of people who lose weight gain it back. It's the least scientific method there is. Imagine if you had cancer and the chemotherapy they gave you was only 5% effective, and you had to keep taking it your whole life without success. That's how dieting feels to me. So invariably, yes, the majority of…

Technically, the Fast diet is not starvation (or even a true fast), but a very low-calorie diet. You eat 500-600 calories a day on "fasting" days.

Yes, that made sense to me too.

I'm a former nurse, and we used to call women gallbladder patients the 4F's: fat, female, forty, and flatulent. (I don't believe it was an actual medical term, though.) I was in my 20s and am horrified I ever participated in that nomenclature! How belittling and unfair. I know plenty of fit males who've had their…

Great advice, Marsellient!

Be careful with potassium. It's a mineral. It's not difficult to get enough in your diet if you're eating just about any fruits or veggies. If you take too much of a supplement, it can wreak havoc with your heart. The only way you should take it is if it is prescribed by your doctor. Usually it is prescribed if you are…

That would confuse me, too, because supposedly the more fit you get, the lower your pulse gets. But maybe that's only your resting pulse and not your pulse while exercising? What I would suggest is taking your pulse for a full minute at a time when you are rested and quiet, ideally before you get out of bed in the morning.…

I make black bean soup that is delicious and quick to make. (No dry beans to soak.) To feed 4 people, I take 4 cans of black beans, drain and rinse them in a colander. Put the beans in a dutch oven with enough chicken broth just to cover. (Or, you can use water and 2 boullion cubes instead.) Do not put more water than just…

It's amazing how other dieters think they are experts on the topic. I am only an expert on my own body, and even then I make mistakes. Also, the closer you are to your ideal weight (or the less weight you have to lose), the harder it is to lose. That's why going down to 1200 calories may be needed.

Real Coke has high-fructose corn syrup in it, which can cause diabetes and is bad on your arteries. So quit drinking it!

I mix mine with just a little skim milk. It gets kind of thick and pasty, which makes my stomach think it's getting real food! Sounds gross, but try it!

Hi: This is my story, I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 40s when I was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have been overweight all my life and most of my weight is around my waist. I had trouble conceiving, but managed to have a baby at age 40. I have had hair loss in a male pattern since my 20s, which is about the time…

I wouldn't worry about 5 calories!

This has GOT to be horrible for your body! Not only because of all the caffeine, but enemas are not good for your intestines! I wonder where this idea came from? Sheesh!

A lot of it depends on your age. I am in my 50s, and as I am losing weight, my boobs are going south. I hope I don't look like that Playboy granny when it's all over with!!!

Excellent! You look beautiful!

Please don't give up! There are so many of us who live with pain each day. It is NOT fun and it can really hurt your quality of life. Ironically, though, if you don't exercise, it can make you down in the dumps. I sometimes have back pain, but mostly I have hip pain and some days I cannot walk for exercise. On those days,…
