  • Not only do I love to listen to my tunes... But it also drowns out my labored beathing so I'm not paying attention to that and I can push myself further!
  • In my humble oppinion  .... I've done a lot of research on carbs, my body LOVES them and loves to keep them stored on my thighs, lol! I lost over 75 lbs, and put back on a few now, because of carbs.. ugh! But my advice is simple.. Keep it simple. Don't get caught up in the numbers. Log your calories, keep your fat in…
  • Awesome! I promise you it gets easier! And you will actually start to look forward to it, I never would have believed it for myself, but it's true! Have fun!:flowerforyou:
  • Thanks for the info and the food for thought! I've always wondered why, but was afraid to ask because I didn't want to offend. So I hope I didn't :flowerforyou: ! I've noticed that I have not had a migrine in a few years now, although I carry Immatrex with me just in case.s, My healthy life style change must be doing the…
  • I took Immatrex many times. My doctor explained to me that I would feel a tightening in my chest and many people feel like they are going to have a heart attack, lol! I took it and yes I did feel all those affects. But, since I was warned about it first it wasn't bad, actually more interesting. It took care of my migraine…
  • You Rock! I lost over 75 lbs and gained back 15.. You know what? It's ok...I've picked myself up and do what I know works. I really would like to reitterate the fact that people worry about going over on somthing like protien or carbs, or whatever... It's a guide line, and I ALWAYS go over on protien, and I still loose…
  • I am not a tofu expert by any means... But pay attention to the firmness of the tofu. Firm or extra firm are great for sliceing and stir frys. But my favorite and my kids favorite is tofu smoothies. 1/2 cup or more of silken tofu 1/2 bannana 1 cup frozen strawberries 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (or peaches or mango, or…

  • I offer no help... I just feel your pain! I work at an Ale House, and get a free shift beer! Who can say no to FREE BEER?! I've put back on 15 lbs since working there:noway: ! I guess it's time to "just say no"! LOL Cheers!:drinker:
  • I don't eat them. However, I take extra care to eat my calorie intake, especially the next day. One day of not eating enough is not going to but you on a plateau. But do it enough times it can slow down your weight loss. But here's another question.... Do you eat those calories that night? After 7 or 8? I had only ate 800…
  • I don't like traditional slaw myself, but I came up with this recipe... I make a Chipotole Slaw out of it and make Baha Tacos... One bag of finely shredded cabbage 1/2 C Fat Free Sour Cream 2 Tbls Reduced fat Mayo 1/2 C (or more)Chipotle Salsa (If you cant find it, use canned chipotles and dice them up depending of your…

  • First, know that we all struggle with the holidays. Second not bring able to exercise is going to slow down your process, it's ok, just eat healthy foods. Third, dealing with a loss of a loved one is obviously extreemly stressful and emotional to say the least. Since most of us eat because of stress or emotionally eat it…
  • I shred it and make it into slaw. My slaw is a bit different tho. I use FF sour Cream, Low fat Mayo (equal portions), and Chiptole peppers and a squeeze of lime juice. I eat it with tacos or as a side to anything really. It's super tasty and fresh.
  • Everyone hits a wall or a plateau at least once, if not many times. To me the best thing to do is shake things up a bit... I tend to eat the same thing everyday, I eat what works for me. Same with exercise, I do the same things over and over. That's when I hit a plateau. Most of the time it just takes a small shift to get…
  • Have fun at the game! I know it's soooo hard to be good there! My boys are going to the Giants game, I'm sad that I'm not going, but grateful that I don't have to navigate the garlic fries and hot dogs! Go GIANTS!!!!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
  • The thing I did was to eat grains/starches only once a day and mininize the fruit intake and up my veggie intake. Also if you are under on calories that will slow your weight loss, try almonds or peanut butter to increase your calories without adding carbs. hope that helps! :flowerforyou:

  • I bet you get comments all the time about how people don't recognize you. You look great! :flowerforyou:
  • Gardner for sure! I hate yard work! Or a masseuse that would just be heaven! OOOOOH! I got it, how about a hot gardner who gives massages! Or is that too pornographic?

  • I find it interesting to weigh myself through out the day just to see sometimes. I find that my weight can flexuate 1-2 lbs in a day. I think it doesnt matter when you weigh, just as long as you are consistant. And by the way..... you are doing great! I read your posts, and you are such an inspiration. Thanks, and keep up…
  • I think in my hay day I could have been a competior to some of those people! I could eat and eat and eat, with no stomach aches! Today is a different story for sure! :drinker:
  • Ok, I TOTALLY know where you are coming from. I just went camping for a week with my family and it sounds very similar to you experience. With in 15 mins my mother implied that I was an alcholic (sp? I can spell it because I am drunk right now, j/k). She accused my sister of being a bad mom. Then My sister had to go back…
  • AWWWW! Congrats! I agree with everyone else, check with youor Dr first, check out babyfit.com, and I also think that weight watchers has a plan for expecting mothers. Anyhow, best wishes! :flowerforyou:
  • Years ago I did the Adkins diet (which is horrible), but I did learn a lot about carbs. I do watch my carb intake more than anything else (other than calories). When I eat more carbs/sugars I do not loose weight at all. So here is what I do hope it helps..... I do not eat anything white, ie: white flour, white rice, sugar.…

  • Mine came from a life long learned behavior. I come from a long line of "foodies". I always loved to watch cooking shows on Saturday morning instead of cartoons. When I was in HS I ate so much junk, then I got married and love to cook, but I cooked rich processed foods. Then I had the boys and was a total junk food junkie…
  • LOL~ I guess we heard the same thing and posted at the same time!
  • I heard that anything over 30 doesnt do anything, 30 is all you need. The higher SPF's are just a waste of money. I'm not sure if that is true or not, just something I heard. I personally use 15 and I still get tan and not burnt. :flowerforyou:

  • For me and I believe for most loosing weight is a process. It has been a three year process. I had lost over 70 lbs before I came to MFP, and wanted to get the last 15 or so off. So in the beginning I could only tackle one thing at a time. I controled my eating and learned A LOT! And it worked for a long time, my body…
