  • I actually got a postcard from my local Hallmark yesterday for the Premier of the Ornaments in July!
  • This may seem like a dumb question, but along the same lines. Not necessarily to lose weight, but would it help you keep your core tight and concentrate on your core if you wore it while working out? When I am doing Zumba I am constantly forgetting to tighten my core and tighten just the muscle we are working on. Sometimes…
  • Looking good! Keep up the good work!
  • Definitely this! I agree whole heartedly! I'm a 12 now and I could live with that as long as I'm healthy! I don't care how small I do or do not get anymore!
  • I have a bad habit of weighing every day. I have no idea why. I don't necessarily get discouraged but it doesn't help much either. I find that the morning after my work out classes I tend to weight a little more, I understand that is probably because my muscles are holding water. I'm also not as regular as I was before I…
  • Good for you on the weight loss and the attitude change. It all starts there! Keep up the good work!
  • I am getting my first tattoo next week. I am 43. One friend I told asked me why I would do that. Well, I'm not doing it for her. I'm doing it for me. Not to show off ot anyone. I am excited about it. It is a shame that people don't look past it to see the person behind the tattoo. I have never met a person with a tattoo…
  • So when you use the fitbit you don't add your exercise at all? Just let FitBit make adjustments on MFP, right?
  • Wow, this could be me. I am 43, 5'9" and weighed 228 when I started MFP. I nearly cried when I got below 200 and actually sent my hubby a picture of the scale! lol Congrats on your hard work, dedication, committment and so on! You look fantastic!
  • I am glad I saw this. I am a little confused about my FitBit. For example, I ride my exercise bike every morning for 35 minutes. MFP logs that at @ 230 calories burnt. Then my FItBit logs additional "fitbit adjustment" calories. Sometimes it's even higher than the 230 that MFP logs for me. What I usually do is ignore the…
  • Feel free to add me. My birthday is September 14! Best month of the year :)

  • My daughter tricked me into buying a pair of pants. They are a junior 11 from Rue 21 and have a Union Jack flag painted on the hip. When we got home she said "oh, those aren't for me, they are for you to get into"! Yikes, I was a women's 16 when she did that. But now I can wear a junior 13/14 and women's 12! So it may be…
  • Hershey's Special Dark minis. They are 45 calories each.
  • This is exactly the thread I needed! I am 5'9", female and started out on January 7 at 228. I have lost 33 pounds. I started out at 1200 calories and working out. I ride my exercise bike daily and zumba/toning 4 days a week. My weight loss has slowed down and this week I have felt sluggish and bloated. I've tried…
  • Congrats on your loss. I was a size 16/18 and now into 12's. When someone told me I needed to get new pants because my britches were baggy I took it to heart. I just bought a couple of pairs to give me basics then I went home and got rid of 3 trash bags of clothing (just passed them on to someone else!). I had a ton of…
  • Chicken cantina bowl from Taco Bell Chopped salads at Subway - yum
  • I don't mea to hi-jack the OP's post. But along those same lines, I started out 3 months ago at 1200 calories and working out 4 times a week (plus 30 minutes on the exercise bike daily). I eat back some of my calories, not all. On the recommendations I've read on MFP I upped my calories to 1300 a week ago. This week I've…
  • I dropped 32 pounds and went from a 16/18 to a size 12. I went the is weekend and bought just a couple pairs of dress pants for work. Skirts I'm just wearing lower on my hips! But my pants were so saggy in the butt it looked like I didn't have one!!! lol
  • I have been having the same issue. I am increasing my calories slowly, 100 at a time, and eating back some, but not all of my exercise calories. I've lost 32 pounds so far and definitely do not want to go backwards on the scale. Feel free to add me!
  • Just my 2 cents: I have a fitbit and I love it, it syncs automatically so it is very easy to use. My friend has the Nike fuelband and loves it too. The BodyMedia has a monthly plan to pay into although I think it comes with so many months free. I have heard that you can't replace the battery on the Polar, it has to be sent…
  • I'm sorry but he sounds completely superficial. Are your looks all that really matters to him? Others are saying he's being honest, blah, blah, blah. If he truly loves you, he'd understand what you have been going through with work, etc. because he would be an active part of your life and know those details. I have been…
  • Wow, this is so inspiring to me. I'm 5'9" and I'm down 32 pounds. My clothes (16's) are hanging on me and I need to get new ones but hate to spend the money since I am not done! I have a before pic but need a current pic. I'll try to post soon! Thank you to the ladies who have posted. It truly helps everyone!
  • I'm actually still wearing a lot of it, just really baggy. I don't want to have to go buy all new things just to do it again in another 30 pounds! But when I'm ready I'll donate what I can't alter. Skirts, piece of cake, not so much for pants!
  • I struggle with the scales too. I take measurements of my bustline, hips and waist just to keep track of that too. And that helps but when you have weight to lose you still want to see the number go down. It's how we identify with weight loss! Try keeping track of measurements too, it gives you something else to focus on…
  • Nice to see a >40 forum here. So here's my story: I'm 43, work as a paralegal in a small law firm, been married for almost 22 years and have one daughter who is 15 (and yes, I am very uncool in her eyes!). Growing up I was the kid who ate everything and was a stick. Got married, gained a few, had my daughter, gained a few…
  • Congratulations! I come from a family of diabetics and just turned 43. It hit me like a lead weight - I am at a higher risk than most to be diabetic. I jointed MFP in January and have never felt better. I go later this week to have all of my levels tested so I am hoping for good reports! Best wishes to you on your…
  • I have a whey protien shake for breakfast each morning. I mix 2 scoops with 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk and 1/2 bag of the Yoplait Frozen Smoothie mix. It's good and fills me up for quite awhile!
  • Great job, you look wonderful. And thank you for posting your success. It is inspirational!
