I like to make a big spicy stir-fry of veg and chicken served over shredded sauteed cabbage instead of rice. My husband doesn't care for cooked cabbage so if I'm cooking for myself that is usually included. We often eat different sides tho. Roasted vegetables of any type are another thing I fix for myself.

Make sure you consistently flex and stretch before getting out of bed and after sitting for long periods. Mine stays under control when I do this and + naproxyn when that and heel spurs flare up. I'm able to run for exercise with these conditions so maybe they are not as bad as yours.

I can't wait to try a roasted squash recipe from December issue Bon Appetit! Also love to make food gifts. Get to try a little and give the rest away. Same magazine has a recipe for hazlenut-chocolate spread. Yum.

Low-cal jalepeno poppers: (This is a recipe in progress) roast or grill jalepenos cut in half longways, then "stuff" with mixture of fat free cream cheese and shredded sharp cheddar, with a little hot sauce. Broil (not too close) until the cheese puffs up and browns a little. Tasty!

Roasted vegetables! Broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, green beans...all are very tasty. Also fond of sauteed cabbage with garlic, ginger, and little soy sauce for an asian-y side dish. I use the bag of slaw mix because I'm lazy : )

No more 'dieting'! That is not a plan. I can't go back to eating whatever I want for 3 years then losing weight again and again. Healthy choices, stay more active, watch the scales.

Exactly. I think black coffee would be a sensible chioce at McDonalds. I just don't go b/c I don't like it that much anymore. Now chicken wings is another story....maybe I should start running since today is discount wing day down the road....
