I've been battling this and then another heel injury for 8 months. What helped with the PF was to get this boot think to sleep in that keeps the PF stretched out and also Cortizone shots. Make an appt. with a podiatrist. I'm going to look into the whole barefoot running thing...a lot of people swear by that.

I think you should meet the Cross Country coach at your school and ask his/her advice. They'll know exactly what type of trianing you'll be doing in August and how to best get prepared for that without getting injured.

for cardio, i either do the Eliptical, Just Dance Wii, Zumba Wii, snowshoeing or walking (at least 4.0 mph). I do 30-60 min. of these pretty much everyday. Then i do some sort of weight circuit. sometimes with weights, sometimes with a medicine ball and sometimes a combo. When it gets warmer, i'll do more biking and…

More often, the better. Of course it matters. Is your heart getting healthier if it's worked 3 days a week or 6? If you have time to do more often than every other day, then do it.

I started a month ago and the first week I was hungry all the time. i think it was because i was used to eating soooo much more and feeling really full more often. I try to eat every few hours and that seems to be working. plus, getting used to not feeling full helped. :) I keep carrots and cucumbers around all the time to…

I think it depends on how hard you workout. If you work out INTENSILY, (sp?)it's probaly a good idea to take a day off. But that could mean, if you run everyday, go for a walk or a swim. You'll still be exercising, just lighter and different. I think for the majority of exercisers who are just exercising to be fit, there…

I started exactly a month ago and i've lost about 8lbs (give or take 1/2). I just cut down obvious junk food. I eat around 1500-1700 calories/day. I make sure ALMOST everything i eat has nutritional value and not just crap. i start each day with hard boiled egg whites and then i eat often through the day but smaller…

ME TOO!

I guess since you're retaining a lot of water, drink a lot of water and maybe eat asparagus, since it's a natural diaretic (sp?).

I agree with this

A friend of mine just gave me this recipe and it's super easy and yummy and low fat. In a crockpot, put 3-4 chicken breasts, a large jar of salsa, a can of rinsed black beans and a can of drained corn. I hate the idea of setting it at low and cooking alllllll day, so i set it at high and cook it for 4 hours. Yummy!

I weigh myself everyday in the morning as soon as I wake up. THis keeps me motivated.

I've had problems with my heel for the last 7 months. the first problem was definently PF. The dr. gave me a brace to sleep in to keep it stretched out during the night. I also got several steroid shots in it as well as prescription anti-inflammatories. One thing about PF is, yes, it hurts mostly upon waking or after a…

I make the mexican cold dip pretty healthy. Layer: organic refried black beans, then Salsa, then Chobani plain yogurt, then lettuce, then light mexican cheese on top. Great for dipping tostito chips-just pick a better one like with lower sodium, etc.

I don't wear perfume, but i love Secret Wonderland body cream from Bath and Body Works.

I watch mainly reality crap, but for regular tv, i like The Office (though it jumped the shark several years ago), Modern Family and Glee.

I hate to cook , but these are a few meals that i make that are relatively cheap and healthy: Tacos-hamburger, seasoning, shells, tomatoes, onions, cheese, salsa Mexican Chicken-throw 4 chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, can of drained black beans and a can of drained corn in a crock pot. I put mine on high for 5 hours or…

It's too late to make this now, but another day. :) Put 3 chicken breasts in a crockpot with a can of corn (drained), a can of black beans (drained) and a jar of salsa. That's it. Awesome!

I definently do not count office walking or walking around the house as exercise. That's just simply part of existing. I count walking if it's done for exercise for a specific distance or amount of time. (fast pace, etc.)

AWESOME! You look completely different!!! Congratulations!

I do appx. 1 hour everyday. It's split between walking, eliptical, weights, zumba, etc. I don't exercise to an extreme intensity that requires me to take a day off. But if something comes up and i have to take a day off, i do (like my kid was sick one day last week).

There have been studies shown that Fit shoes do nothing to actually get you fit. Don't waste your money. Good old hard work will get you fit.

I've been running for 27 years (though not in the last 7 months due to a peristent heel problem). I would recommend walking more at the beginning. Once you've dropped some weight it'll be a lot easier and less chance of injury when you start jogging. When you get to the point of starting jogging, you could start with W…
