  • Yeah, I ate some back and still have green. I am OCD though. I like a BIG green number. Over 200 is good for me. The 124 I have today seems too low, like I will gain weight, but I KNOW that is false thinking.
  • I don't have a thyroid and have been on medication for almost 6 years now. I am on Armour, a more natural medication. I can't take synthroid or any levothyroxin medications. I also have no gall bladder. I have been at this journey for over a year now and you see my ticker. I just lost 1.8 pounds after 2 weeks of exercise…
  • On a normal day I don't eat back my exercise calories. I like seeing the green when I close out my day.
  • I went with a friend to Noodles and Company yesterday and had 1/4 of a bowl and a chocolate chip cookie. I logged it when I came home and was shocked that the one cookie was more calories than the pasta. Cookies are evil. I use Atkins Endulge m&m's when I want something sweet for the most part. One bad day though, will not…
  • I weigh daily and we have a withings scale so it automatically sends to MFP. No hiding there, or not logging it. If I gain weight MFP says nothing. If I lose weight there is a party and it is on my home page. I know the body has fluctuations, I just don't like seeing them. I do have to say I was weighing myself weekly, but…
  • I have the fitbit One and LOVE it. It is the one that also tracks stairs and sleep, so it is a bit bigger. I am so used to it now I forget I have it on. I keep it in my pocket (attached to the pocket) and my husband wears his on his underwear. He too doesn't even notice it anymore. I find myself looking at my FB results…
  • I have NO thyroid, and am losing weight. Count your calories and exercise, that's all it takes. But just a hint, it will take more exercise from you than your best friend because thyroid affects your metabolism. I have burn about 1800 calories on any given day before exercise according to my fitbit. I usually do weight…
  • Some restaurants have their nutrition information online so I always check that before going out to eat. I use the information to check and see what I want to have then check the nutrition information. Also many others have put in restaurant information for specific items. I have found Subway, Chipotle and Red Robin all on…
  • I have lost 2 pant sizes because of losing inches. I have gone from a 16 to a 12 in one month, and just 5 pounds. I am pear shaped so carry the weight in my belly, butt and thighs.
  • Be able to run around the 'block' (it is almost a mile around) without stopping now that I have my inhaler back.
  • I don't have a thyroid and my meds are wrong again. I have been so tired for the past two weeks that I hardly get up to go to the bathroom. No, I don't wet my pants, but I hold it as long as I can. I don't have a gall bladder either. So not only do I not have the organ than controls metabolism, but I also don't have the…
  • It is also used for low blood sugar issues. That is why I take Metformin. I have not had any weight loss from the drug, but I have had loss due to diet and exercise. I have been on Metformin for 3 years now.
  • Was it the March box or the February box? Glad to hear you liked it. I can't wait to get mine and check it out.
  • I am 47 and weight 183, down from 220 before I joined MFP. Since joining MFP I have lost 4 pounds. I eat 1350 a day and do eat back my exercise calories. For exercise I run, zumba and use our Elliptical. I prefer running to the machine. I have my BAD days, in fact today is one of them. I am already way over my 1350 and it…
  • I got my hrm yesterday and I got the Polar FT4. It automatically set the heart rate for exercise to be anything between 112 and 180.
  • You can eat 1200 calories of junk, but think about your muscle mass. Most 'junk' food doesn't have much protein to fuel those muscles.
  • That I can still have what I want, as long as it fits into my calories, and if it doesn't, I need to exercise more! I LOVE the exercise I do - either the Elliptical, Zumba, or Running, and that helps me greatly. If you love what you do to work it off, you can stay within your calorie goals.
  • We make our own pizza. Both the crust and the sauce. The whole pizza with canadian bacon and pineapple is only 1000 calories and that is for a 10 inch pizza. I have not yet calculated the pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. Google pizza dough and pizza sauce recipes for some ideas.
  • Fitbit will sync to your laptop. I have an iPhone 5 and it syncs to mine. And yes, even if it doesn't sync to your phone it is worth getting. The Fitbit itself will tell you how many steps you have walked.
  • My husband has the Zip and I have the One. We both like mine better because it counts the floors you do (important if you do stairs as a form of exercise). The One also will do your sleep, and since I have a problem with sleep apnea and can't wear a cpap do to other health reasons, the One does a nice job of telling me how…
  • I am expecting my HRM to arrive today. I ordered Polar FT4 and can't wait to get it and see what my REAL heart rate is when I exercise. From what I know, the HRM should be the correct calories, so believe it when you see it.
  • Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the answers. I was not sure. I love exercising and have not taken a break so was planning on doing it today, but now I will rest up and hope I am better soon!
  • I am calling it a lifestyle change, not a diet. And my trick to sticking to the change is this: I don't limit ANY food. Yes, I had a donut this morning because I was craving it for the whole weekend. I have to say it wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but that isn't the point. The point is that the donut fits into my…
  • We got a Withings scale from Amazon.com. It is digital, syncs to MFP, and also gives your BMI. When you first get the scale you sign up on their site and put in your height, age and all that good stuff. The scale takes it from there. Now it knows my husband, son and me by our weights. As we are losing weight it can still…
  • I got a Fitbit One several weeks ago and LOVE it. It encourages me to exercise, do stairs, take lots of steps, and get enough sleep. My husband has one too, and we are 'friends' on the FitBit site. Because of this I can see how many steps he takes, and we are in a competition to see who takes more each day. That also keeps…
  • Protein keeps you full longer, so you may want to try having protein at every meal. Or a protein filled snack such as a hard boiled egg or almonds or other nut. Beef Jerky, beef, chicken, peanut butter. Things like that will help fill you up and keep you full.

  • Oh wow, I was going to post this question! I fatigue way too easily when running and using our new Elliptical trainer. I had almonds today a few hours before I hit the Elliptical, but had serious lack of energy. I had to take a break every few minutes.
  • I just started running, and want to do my first 5k this summer. I am struggling with energy and breathing. I do a total of almost a mile, but only jog for about 1/2 of it, the rest is brisk walking. Each day I can go a little bit longer, so hopefully soon I will be running the whole half mile, then a mile, then more. Oh,…
  • I have a fitbit One (the one for sleep). The advantage of this one is that it also counts your floors. So if you do stairs, it will keep track of how many you do each day. My husband has the zip and his doesn't have stairs or sleep. Other than that, I can say I LOVE my FitBit. It motivates me to walk more, do more stairs,…
