So, how did you like zumba?! I think it's a really fun way to exercise! Was an instructor at one point in time. Way more fun than running on a treadmill or something! :)

1/20 214.4 1/27 212.4 2/3 211.4 Not exactly "earth-shattering", but at least I'm headed in the right direction!!

How is everyone doing? Hope it's been a successful first week! We got this! :)

Happy to see that I'm heading in the right direction.....down! 1/20...........214.4 1/27...........212.4 Yay!

Good job on squeezing in gym time, and great willpower to stand up to milkshakes!! You - 1, Milkshakes - 0!! Not easy! :)

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Had a lovely day! Saved up some calories for a couple of splurges, so hopefully won't go far off track!

I'd like to join! Today's my birthday, and I am now exactly one year away from "the big 6-0"! Would like to be at my goal weight by then, but will be happy for any losses in the next 8 weeks! Starting weight: 214.4 Goal weight: 155-160

Maybe you could ask your therapist friend what he thinks about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) . I looked at the video above and it's a bit in that vein. CBT uses exercises to help you discover what your "automatic" thoughts are and how you can re-train yourself to think differently (generally more positively). That's a…

Someone above mentioned Dr Michael Greger's website. Read his book, How Not to Die-- fascinating, well-researched, and explains how a plant- based diet can help prevent illness and improve your health. Honestly, I'm still an omnivore, but have been taking a lot of his suggestions to heart. Excellent read!

Love kombucha! Don't really like the bottled ones- l prefer the ones on tap, like at Vitamin Shoppe. My German mom loved this soft cheese that literally translates into "stink cheese"-- very aptly named! It smelled like dirty gym socks that you left in a bag in your car trunk when the temperature was in the 90s…

Never had one. No snap chat , Twitter, instagram or anything else either. Life is too short to "like" other people's pancakes, or follow them!

Not to be "alarmist," but I have to say that my first thought after reading your post was " that could be the beginning of an eating disorder." I think we all feel "guilty" about eating certain things, like maybe a hot fudge sundae when we're watching our weight, but you said you felt guilty about everything you eat. It…

When I was a child, fast food was a "treat," not a daily occurrence. We lived on Long Island, NY, and every summer we'd drive up to Oswego, NY to visit/stay with friends. What kept my younger sister and I from going insane on this 8+ hour car ride? The promise of a hamburger, fries, and chocolate shake at Carrol's, a…

Sitting down with a spoon and eating an entire pint of ice cream feels so satisfyingly "decadent"! I love the chocolate mocha chip and candy bar, which tastes kind of like a frozen Snickers bar. My new favorite, though, is caramel macchiato- yum! Smooth, mild coffee taste with some caramel flavor- delicious!

Not sure about all the other stuff, but ACV works well on itches, especially poison ivy. (yeah, it stings at first). I used it on some poison ivy I had, and it dried it up and stopped the itching. A lot cheaper than all the OTC itch treatments!

Nothing more inspiring to this 55 year-old than seeing someone my age give menopause a good kick in the *** !! Good for you! Great job at losing the weight, and your long-term maintenance is awesome! You just gave me some new inspiration! Thank you, and keep going strong, warrior-woman!

Are you on any prescription medications? "Dry mouth" is a possible side effect of a whole host of prescription medications.

Great job! You're my motivation for today! I'm in pretty much the same place - 5' 7", at 206 now, aiming to get to around 160 or so. (I'm 20 years older than you, though!) Just started over again on Monday. Trying to maintain the logging and have been walking my dog for at least an hour a day, aiming to return to the gym…

Unbelievable dedication, and unbelievable transformation. You also happen to be an excellent writer, and you're very handsome. So glad you escaped that prison - enjoy your freedom and never go back! Wishing you a happy ,healthy life!

Just my opinion - nope, never, not on anyone. Seems to me like "defacing" the already beautiful human body. Btw, my daughter has 2 tattoos - absolutely adore HER, but can't stand the tattoos! But of course, to each his own...for me, personally....never.

Disappointed that I came within 23 miles of my goal but didn't finish. Have had a hard week, and circumstances have gotten in the way, but I tried my best! Congrats to all who completed, exceeded, or came close to their goals! Good job everyone! Is there an October challenge? Back in the saddle!

OATMEAL!! Have tried all my life to like it, but it looks like someone got sick at the breakfast table.(sorry - but that's what always comes to mind!) So gross! Can't be in the same room with egg salad - can't watch someone eat it, either! "Slimy" foods like avocado, okra, mango. Beets make the list, along with cottage…
