I used Jeff Galloways Half program, he does the Run Disney races. Its pretty much short runs Tues., Thurs, and a long run on the weekends... with a mileage buildup. His big thing is running injury free... training runs should be slow, you should be able to talk. The Disney races are good for your first Half by the way…

Cheryl... will be watching, I think I remember kids in our area falling thru the ice.... Ran my Superbowl Shuffle yesterday, 33 minutes, happy with that as there were hills and 20 degrees!! I think if I lose another 10-15 lbs. I can break my 30 min. mark on a flat 5k course. That would be huge for me. Have a great week…

Def. technical layers. bra, tank, long sleeve tech, outerwear/ shell cold weather tights - I have underarmour. I use handwarmers when it's really cold, then stick them in my pockrets when I'm sweating :) My training partner puts them in her shoes?! That would seem uncomfortable to me... I find headbands better than a hat…

Hi! So good to know there are other fabulous fifties out there! I turned 50 in Sept. and ran my first Half Marathon @ Disney in January to say "take that 50!!". I did run and only walked about 5 minutes so... yes it can be done! Even if you are terribly out of shape as I was. I have lost about 15 pounds so far with 15 to…
