I so needed this today! I was you insofar as logging and lost weight; then my mom died, my dad broke his hip 3 weeks later, we started raising my 3yo nephew the following month, moved twice with the sale of one house and the purchase of another 3 weeks apart - I DID gain 15lbs since April. I'm on day 2 of logging, drinking…

Day one (again) for me too! I hit 50 this year and my body doesn't respond like it once did - gotta keep moving though.

I've lost about 32 lbs over the last year or so although I see it creeping back up. I got away from logging when I had a few things going on in my family the last 6 weeks but I'm back at it this week and refocused. I would still like to lose a few lbs before my 50th in July.

I love how your expression becomes much happier the further into your journey - all the best to you and much success!

The dude that used shoe polish in his hair... seriously - it started to run a little from the perspiration.

LOL... I'm dying!

Baby steps! take your time - and take walks. You don't have to go miles and miles but just get out and walk a little today. Please don't fall into the 1200 calorie pit, it's not enough food. I'm not going to give you a laundry list... just that one first step of taking a walk.

My general breakfast is... in a blender mix 1C. silk milk, frozen fruit and some protein powder. This takes me about 3 minutes from pulling everything out and putting everything back away. I drink it on my commute. If you don't want the protein powder use a banana for extra body and nutrition. I also make various baked…

Perfect, I came to poke around and see what I could find for the same reason. Thanks!

I've been going to my gym for a couple years now and... hopefully you will always have moments of feeling awkward and out of place. Many of us feel that way when we step outside our comfort zone and place ourself in unfamiliar territory. I used to only do the eliptical, treadmill... cardio stuff. I mean, you get on YOUR…

I use the Polar FT7. I wanted something to track during workouts only and this does the trick and is simple to setup and use. I'm very satisfied with it!

I started at 215 doing bootcamp 3x pw... essentially a lot of HIIT, conditioning etc. It was hard and sucked... I complained - a lot. It gets better... I was not able to run around our building (.25 mile) at all when we started, I would walk it or elect to hold a plank while others ran. I've been at it a year and I ran it…

Thank you everyone!

I agree with what you're saying but also, much like the other posts, think it relates to what your goals are. Currently for me, I am more interested in weightloss and stick to the "within your calorie budget" philosophy. I am losing an average of 1 lb per week and have not had an issue with hunger or lack of fuel during my…

I strength train 5 - 6 Xs per week and have had no issues with my weighloss etc.

Not ketchup or mustard but everything else yes...

This is exactly what I was going to post!

On board w/this! I think it's part of their charm frankly...

AWESOME!!! See, it's all about the little victories that move us along. Well done

I'm 49, 5'6 and was 215lbs in January. It took me several months (7) to lose 4 lbs doing a bootcamp 3x per week. Honestly, I wasn't giving it all that I could/should have. Something just clicked one day and I really started to put in the effort working out. I saw a couple pounds drop and that motivated me to use MFP. I log…

I think it depends on what you want. I ended up w/the Polar FT7 b/c I wanted to track calories burned ONLY during workouts... not throughout the day - or while sleeping for that matter.

Well... It's tough and I totally get it. Of course go w/smaller portions of anything you think is not calorie friendly and load up on any healthier options they have. More salad or veggies if they're an option. Definitely bring your healthy snacks, fruits etc. People do that all the time on vaca. Try to get some…
