  • I think I should have put some in my oatmeal this morning.
  • I didn't eat chocolate bars from 1984-1988. I gained quite a few pounds during that time. I think I got fat from having a chocolate deficiency. Come to think of it I haven't had chocolate for quite a few months now. I better go get some before I stall or worse start gaining again.
  • Just had to come back and say. I am no longer diabetic. I believe it's because I walk several hours a day and have cut my calories enough to lose a half pound to a pound a week.
  • IIFYM, diet is the best. It puts you in total control of what you eat and how much as long as you hit your protein, fat, and carb goals. Or you could just focus on calories many people do that as well with great success. It's really not that hard just figure out your TDEE and subtract 500 from that and move more. You might…
  • awesome didn't get it til the last line then the tune started playing in my head.
  • I don't tell people my weight, unless they are a doctor or a personal trainer. I went to have a bf analysis and the guy asked me how much I weighed, must have been thinking (pretty sure I was thinking) about my goal weight and that is what I told him. He didn't even blink, then I said oopsies and told him my actual weight.…
  • Twinkies, Pop-tarts, chocolate milk, Tostino cheese pizza rolls, plain bagels (they're ok if you put cream cheese on em), baked chips, low fat mayo, green olives, or anything else I don't like. PS I will still eat the pizza rolls because they are convenient, but I definitely don't like them as much as I used to.
  • I don't even... But, it is making me hungry for an apple.
  • I used to do that hoping to get some insight into what foods thin people eat to stay thin. It was a no go cuz the thin people had just as much junk in their carts as the obese people. I have no idea what store you are going to, but consider yourself lucky cuz the thin people around here are no help whatsoever.
  • Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer I have a French test coming up on Monday.
  • There are too many factors to say if 150 is too heavy for 5'4''. Frame size and muscle mass being the main ones. But, some people for other health reasons need a little extra weight as well. I just found out yesterday that some joint problems can be made worse by losing too much weight, don't remember the name of the…
  • What have you done today to make you feel proud? I think about that a lot. It is a variation of the philosophy I adopted about 6 years ago that I would do something even if it was a small thing to help me get my health back. I didn't lose any weight during the bulk of this time, but I did go on a walk nearly everyday. I…
  • Well I think you should have a cape and be an action figure. Because you are a super hero. You have done some very brave things. It's amazing and inspiring. I started out at well over 300 pounds and I didn't even know it. I got the shock of my life at a doctors appointment after losing a significant amount of weight. I…
  • I would go with this one. That could be a very satisfying snack for around 200 calories. Only I would have 2 cuz I ain't afraid of eating at night. I would just make sure I hadn't eaten all my calories during day walker times.
  • I have lost "only" just under 60 pounds so far. I haven't seen any issues with saggy skin. But, I have been losing ever so slowly it's taken 9 or 10 months. I do think it will become an issue though when I am getting closer to goal weight. I think that it's good to be aware of the problem now so you can take steps to avoid…
  • I stopped worrying about calories when I realized it's really really hard to go over on days where you are walking for 5 or more hours a day. It's a big campus and when I am not in school I am walking to get to all the errands I need to do. So, I just worry about moving at least 3 hours a day and as many as 5. Also eating…
  • I have wondered that myself. I try not to let things like that confuse me too much so basically I ignore what I don't understand.
  • I can't think of a single negative physical effect. Even though I knew this was going to happen, I am fighting with my SO a lot more. He tends to wig out when I am able to do my thing, which right now is attending school. He doesn't like me not being out for most of the day and coming home "late" like at 9:30 when I have a…
  • Tip no.1 Realize you are the person in charge of setting your goals. MFP just helps you do the math. And realize that the math is what is generally true for a large population group sample, but it might not be true for you especially if you have medical conditions. So, you might find you need to lower your calories…
  • Diet coke. I will win!!!!!!! I will force them to drink it cuz we all know that diet coke will make your bones dissolve and the acid in it will destroy your stomach. Ha ha ha zombies take that.
  • I don't know or care why people disregard walking. I walk about 3 hours each day I go to classes and I can walk up to 5 hours on days I am not in class. So, I can pretty much eat whatever I want. I don't go crazy of course and eat a whole pizza, but walking definitely means I can have a slice or two. It means I can have…
  • Yep, that is what I was trying to say with a lot more words. I think you have a beautiful soul and I hope you are able to keep that and add some healthier habits to your lifestyle at the same time. Just keep at doing something everyday to make yourself healthier. Eat a little less move a little more or a lot more and by…
  • Working out is hard at least mentally. So, wear whats comfortable you shouldn't have to be uncomfortable when you are trying to get in better shape, you know so you can be more comfortable.
  • You are probably a very nice person. So, it will probably take a lot of practice, but start by telling them to F off. I don't mean that in a nice way either. It's no one's business what you weight or what you look like. If they are rude and insulting that says more about them than it does you. You have a big task ahead of…
  • I unfortunately didn't have a last straw. There were lots of shoulda been the last straw though. But, fortunately about 9 months ago I started dieting by accident. I didn't even have a scale or anything. I wasn't actually counting calories either, but after about 2 weeks in and noticing I was eating less I decided to do…
  • I have seen threads on this. So, you aren't alone. I haven't done any intense workouts, just a hella lot of walking (up to 5 hours a day) so that might be why I haven't experienced it. It doesn't sound like fun to me, but the people that say that it has happened seem to think it's something like a spiritual event.
  • Walking will help you get A's so I would start with that. They did a study that showed children who walk to school perform better in all areas of study. Even the walkers who didn't eat breakfast did better than the general student population who didn't walk to school.
  • Well since many people are quoting the nonsense about sugar being more evil than cocaine, I got this one. It's more to the point of the OP it is as informative as the demonization of sugar is entertaining. I became pre diabetic while consuming nearly 0 percent carbs. I later became diabetic while going back to eating all…
  • I'mma gonna go make some fried green maters and mashed taters and probably a fried egg or two for dinner.
  • I haven't given up anything for my "diet". What I eat is always in a state of transition anyway whether I am trying to lose weight or not. Right now I am obsessed with waffles, next month I might become obsessed with something else or just go back to eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast when it is consistently cool…
