  • Dance and maybe hug :)
  • The last sentence sounds like me, "I'm starting my clean eating tomorrow". I don't want to sound mean or rude, but why not start at your next meal? Even if you've eaten half a cake for breakfast and the other half for lunch doesn't mean you AND I can't eat a good clean meal for dinner :) I started on here last April and I…
  • I think 96 oz is reasonable depending on your activity level, that comes out to about 12, 8 oz glasses a day. If your urine is mostly clear/light yellow you should be fine. Don't be in too big of a hurry to lose the weight, slow and steady is a good thing :)
  • I grew up in a very similar situation and I completely understand how you feel, but you MUST leave for your own sanity. I moved out when I was just barely 17. That was 23 years ago and I don't regret it a bit. I kept in contact with my family, but sadly not a lot changed in those years. It was toxic when I lived there and…
  • Like most on here have said, don't panic. Breathe!! It's going to take a while to lose that weight, I'm down to losing the last 30 or so pounds and it's slowed considerably (not to mention I lapsed, so I'm back again) . One more thing.....this will likely be the hardest out of everything because it's shoved at all of us so…
  • I am in awe over this....please link the studies you've been reading. I'm not trying to be rude, but if you say study after study supports this, then please back it up with valid links. One thing I will say, athletes don't diet...they don't restrict themselves to 1200-1500 or 1800 calories a day. They look at food as fuel…
  • I'm not sure what else can help since it looks like you're vegetarian? So it's an area for me where I don't know where you can get extra protein to help. Do you eat eggs at all or would you eat egg substitutes? I don't know if that's part of a vegetarian diet. The only other suggestion is to up your fiber intake, but be…
  • Maybe try some tea with almond milk between meals? Also almonds just as a snack, a small handful....10 or so of them has helped me if I get in the situation where I feel this way. Like right before bed, if I end up with those hunger pains (rare, but it happens) almonds help. It's awful trying to sleep that way.
  • I'm not sure if these are options for anyone who posted, but for me this has worked....almost to the point of being too much sometimes. I buy bags of chicken breasts and lots of salmon, lean meats etc. over my days off I spend three or so hours in the kitchen cooking and bagging up pre portioned bags of the protein. 4 oz…
  • Does Smokey count? LOL :P and yes, it's real :)
  • It was your choice to eat there and it's your responsibility to make sure you're getting the correct amount of carbs and taking the correct amount of insulin, nobody else's. My son has type one diabetes and he's completely responsible for everything that goes into his mouth and for every injection he gives himself. After…
  • I think I might understand what you mean, I did the same thing when I went into maintenance and now I'm back to lose the weight I gained back from my...I guess you can say "arrogance". You're right, there's nothing wrong with candy, but if you go too far it'll come back to haunt you in the end. The best thing you can do is…
  • Fudge and peppermint ice cream. I wont be buying the peppermint ice cream, but I will be making fudge this year. I'll just be limiting myself to a few pieces and go with the understanding that the fudge will always be there, I don't have to eat a whole freaking pound of it. That was my problem with all food.
  • A kitchen scale is going to help you a great deal. My husband bought me one that measures in grams, oz, kg etc. You can also put your plate/bowl/glass on mine and zero out the weight before adding your food and drinks to them. Measuring your food is the only way you're going to be accurate about what you're eating and…
  • It makes my fingers and toes tingle, too. It is listed as one of the side effects, strange your doctor didn't think that was the cause. I'll deal with it because, for me, the benefits far out weigh the feeling I've been sitting on my hands for hours lol. :) As far as the weight loss, my first neuro who put me on it did say…
  • I am curious about this as well, bump :)
  • total daily energy expenditure eta....it's the amount of calories you need to function in a day. I can't give you the details how to calculate it and I'm not sure how to link the posts where they are, but they are numerous on here.
  • I weigh everything, yes.....even a handful of cashews or almonds. A handful is typically a serving size when dealing with almonds, cashews etc. Beef Jerky, a serving size is 1 oz....you can have a fairly big piece of it, but again, I weigh it. Cereal, a typical serving size is 3/4 cup...maybe about the size of your fist in…
  • I've had people act funny with me and I just don't care, I expected it......I knew exactly who was going to do it and if they can't get over it, it's their problem not mine. I'm happy with where I am and where I'm headed in regards to my weight loss and they can either join me, be happy for me or get off the train.
  • That is super!!!!!! What a great feeling, I hope you did a happy dance after getting off your scale, congratulations :drinker: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • First off, what a jerk. This is like the curly hair vs the straight hair thing......those with the bigger boobies want smaller and those with smaller want bigger (majority of the time, not always). I am one of the one's wanting less. At a 38 C now and it's a pain in the *kitten* trying to find a dress that they'll fit in.…
  • First, congratulations on the 43 lbs!!! That's super :) It's great you started a word doc for yourself. There's also a reports section on here, where you can go and see your progress in graphs over a period of time. It'll show your food, weight, inches etc. Basically whatever you want to see and in what time frame...7…
