I am just diving in to the Autoimmune Paleo Diet (AIP) after realizing that I have not felt better even after removing gluten and dairy (3 years). I have been working with a nutritionist for about 3 months and have been logging everything and eating around 1400 calories. I have only lost about 4 pounds, and I'm realizing…

Focus on protein! You can do it!

Measurements! I find the scale does not give me any real information and can really bum me out. I focus on lifting and cardio, and make sure I track my measurements every month or so. Good luck!

Daydream, focus on the positives....you respond with kindness to your Mfp friends. Let the other nonsense go....stay strong and stay positive....

Hey, I use jari love too. Sweet outfits. I have found another DVD that is good bc it's short (30) and really intense. It's Jackie Warner and it's a circuit DVD, focusing on weights....good luck Melissa I am impressed that you are so out about Mfp. I get shy.....

Yes! My littles are too old to be blamed for the extra. 12-15 pounds I have happening over here....
-
Awesome! And hilarious....

interesting! I mean, I think the calorie discussion is kind of irrelevant as it pertains to everybody else b/c we are really different. I'm tall and I lift a lot of weights, so 1750 may be high to some, but low to others. I am just looking for ways to shake it up. I do agree that we get into habits of taking in way more…

Dayum!

I'm in! I will use a pair of pants to mark my progress instead of the scale though....

wow! that is crazy that your reactions are so immediate! Mine are of the GI variety and I'll leave it at that. I'm convinced though too my history of migraines is connected to my Celiac. So, how do I create a group? Just make a thread like this and post stuff? OK, I'll try that. Yay! Jen

I remember now, that is rough! Sorry to hear about it. I tell my husband though, even when it gets sooo tough, that the gf/df diet is worth it for me b/c I feel so much better. I cheat sometimes with the dairy (hello, M&M's!) and I feel it IMMEDIATELY. Boo. But good, actually, to keep me in check. Best of luck, I'll check…

I don't even know what that means! I'll google it.... Day 4 is early, and it can be overwhelming. How are you doing with it? I have about 5 years of GF under my belt, so feel free to msg me a questions. Thanks for the info, good luck!

Oh ok, so it's more if I have a bodybugg or some sort of device that I can see cals burned. Got it! Thank you!

Hahaaa, that post could have gone either way! hahaaa, congrats!

Thanks all! I wonder sometimes if I should be adding my exercise in b/c sometimes that gets me 'off the rails' with some food choices. I will try and use better choices to eat back my exercise calories. Jen

Hurrah for the turtles indeed! Love that!

Hellstotheyes! Well said!

Thanks everyone! Great ideas. I think I need to mix it up with lbs and inches and behaviors versus scale alone. I have some awesome clothes hanging in the closet, hoping to get into those! That's a reward for sure....good luck and thanks!

Haha, good for you....I think that there are some great workout clothes I could splurge on when I hit a goal. Just have to figure out which goald to shoot for....thanks!
-
Huh! I hadn't even thought of doing a short term goal until now...thanks for the inspiration. And so: my short term goal is to get into the 160's before the end of April. I'm only 171 now, so it seems like a feasible goal. However, this is always, ALWAYS in my 20 years of dieting history (although this is a lifestyle, yes)…

I'm in! What do I do?

It's true, you're right. Have to be prepared b/c the slip ups are part of the whole process. I told my hubby last night that I could probably lose 20 in 2 months, but refuse to. If it's something that I can't maintain forever, I want no part of it. Just found out I'm gluten and dairy free, so that changes the game…
-
thank you! just have to remember that it's consistency that does it....keep doing the same thing.... have a great day!

Wow, I'm surprised to see such a quick response. Congrats on 19lbs. down, that's crazy! I have just finished reading the Eat Clean Diet, (have you seen it?). I like it b/c it just makes sense, it's normal, and it's actually satisfying in that I don't have to starve myself. I also eat gluten/dairy free, which is a new…
