  • Hi I'm going to try Veganuary! I've been trying to transition from veggie for a while so am hoping this will be the final step. Happy to have friends who are doing the same :)
  • I'm finding the same too. I'm hoping to make the the change eventually. I'm a relatively new veggie so making changes gradually.
  • Hi had a Vivofit for a while but need some connections for motivation and ideas :) I'm Stoicus on Garmin :)
  • Add me if you like same username Stoicus on vivofit, that invitation extends to everyone :)
  • I do, would love a buddy who uses it too :)
  • I'm not a fast runner but I find race goals motivate me; I have a full year ahead of me!! Silverstone half (march) Colchester half (march) London marathon (April) Locall 4 race 5k series (may, June, July, august) Spartan Sprint (August)
  • Been running for a couple of years, not a fast runner, more the tortoise than the hare, but currently training for a marathon in April. The more running buds, the better I think especially for motivation, anyone is free to add me :)
  • I would love some more running buddies, anyone can feel free to add me :) I'm more like the tortoise than the hare, but I get the runs in.
  • My RHR is 43-46, this morning it was 45 it has been as low as 38 on the rare occasion. I'm 35, 5ft 4" and about 50lbs overweight. Before I started exercising, two and a half years ago, it was 65-70ish. I now run, doing my first marathon next year, and work out five times a week. I have always had low blood pressure despite…
  • I'm up for 100, I've already started training for the London marathon next year. If anyone wants to add me for mutual encouragement, feel free :)
  • Agree with seeing the doctor, I think that's important to do, be on the safe side. I also wanted to say, when I started running, breathing and an ill fitting bra hurt my back and occasionally caused chest pain. I prefer the running bras that cross at the back, much more supportive. I also found my chest ached after doing…
  • When I run 5k at an easy pace I burn around 250 calories, when I run it at race pace I burn around 490. I use a HRM. I've found MFP estimates to be completely inaccurate as far as calories burned are concerned.
  • I started SW last week after a long period of using MFP and I also decided to track what I was eating on here. Mainly to see the differences as my weightloss really slowed down whenever I tried to go under 1500 cals as MFP suggested. I have to admit after such a long period of controlling cals per day, SW seems alien and I…
  • ^^Agree. I use Nutrisport 90+ also and only use half a serving. I started small and am just about ready to order my first 5kg tub. It really is good value and I've seen good results too :)
  • My resting RHR is 43. It was in the 60's before I started running. I have assumed, rightly or wrongly, that this was because of the exercise. I have no other symptoms. I also seem to have trouble pushing myself above 150 when running, but I've come to the conclusion that it's because of the type of running, long distance.…
  • I started Couch to 5K when I was 200lbs+, I'm now 185. I started slow, in fact I'm still pretty slow but I am still overweight. I use a treadmill predominantly which is easier on the joints. I don't run outside at the moment, but I have run on concrete and I can tell you it really hurt after. I've read that a lot of…
  • Hi, I'm 5ft 4 and I honestly never gave my height a thought when it comes to weightloss. I've managed so far to lose 44lbs and have another 45lbs to go. I can't wait to be at my goal weight this year, 2012 baby :) That said, I'm more than happy for people to add me as friends and continue on together :)
  • I'm from FFL 1 and if anyone wants to add me as a friend on MFP, you are more than welcome to :)
  • I posted this in a similar thread, so am pasting it here for you: I hadn't run since school, over 17 years ago, but started C25K this year because I'd seen so many people happy with the results. I'm on week 5, and absolutely loving it! I can offer some advice following the program, through my trial and error and hope that…

I can offer some advice following the program, through my trial and error and hope that it helps. Whenever I struggled with a 'Day' I would repeat it the…
  • I lost my son when he was four months old, cot death (SIDS), in 2003. I can say now, looking back that it crippled me emotionally. I became a shut in, my weight ballooned and I eventually took antidepressants to try and function for my daughter, who was just three at the time. I swore I would never have another baby or…
  • I used to log the running parts and the walking parts separately, and a slow jog is roughly 5mph and the brisk walking 3.5mph. Now I use a heart rate monitor for the entire session.

  • Sounds great, count me in :)
  • Sent an invite too :) I've found Google+ to be an excellent way to share with MFP friends, if anyone wants to feel free to circle me too. :)
  • Thanks for posting this, rat70, there is really useful advice here :) I've just started week four and recently went from the treadmill to the road, and it made a huge difference, I ached for days after. I'll definitely be following you're advice and adding an incline to compensate.
  • I've been using Runkeeper for a while and love it, have added everyone to street teams :) Feel free to add me too http://runkeeper.com/user/stoicus88/profile
