I think that's a good plan. I've been doing that in my weight lifting class and I find it pretty doable. I don't have a bunch of weight on (about 30-35 pounds), but I'd say it's a good way to work up to it. Also, thanks for sharing that great mental image.

Thanks everyone! That's all good to hear. I have had knee problems for years, but the odd thing is it's the right knee, and that's where I've loaded up more muscle from what I can feel. It's strange. But I'll keep tabs on it and hope it changes! It's enough that my loose-leg capris fit snugly on the left and loose on the…

Yeah, this one is just pretty noticeable being 3/4 of an inch bigger than the right one.
-
Ummmm...yeah, no. What everyone else has said. Please don't do this to your body.

I don't know if you have access to any gyms that use Les Mills courses, but I've been doing Body Pump as a total beginner and I've had some great results. It's a lot easier for me to start out when I have instruction and can't really afford personal training.

I'm 5'4" for those who were wondering. Mostly I've been doing Les Mills Body Pump classes 3-4 times a week on average, and upping my weight as I go. I get bored easily with weights so it helps to have a class to go to with instruction! I highly recommend it. I've also been doing PiYo, which is great for strength as well.

ETA: This is mostly from weight training 3-4 times a week and cardio 2-3 times a week. So don't let anyone tell you weight training isn't worth it! I didn't believe them two years ago but I do now. And thanks all! :)

I have this same exact problem! I'm a newspaper reporter so I'm broke and have terrible hours with no routine schedule. It makes it really difficult to want to come home at 9 and fix something rather than stop somewhere. But when you get the urge, there are healthy options! Subway makes some good stuff, as does Pita Pit.…

I really need some encouraging friends! I will do the same for you.

Thanks everyone! :D I've been working out since January...am now training for a half-marathon at the end of August.

I got called "Shamu" behind my back once in 9th grade, and I'll never forget it. People can be such jerks. But you can do this, and I've added you as a friend! :)

Mine would totally be French fries. I don't know why I crave them so often.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but that just sounds awful to deal with! I can't even imagine what a pain that must be. I hope that works out for you!

I have a friend who would be happy if she had just enough boobs to be recognized as a female. She hates hers, it kinda makes me sad.

I totally agree with this.

Not great. :( Been moving, so I haven't had time for workouts... Going running tonight, so hoping to get back on track!

I'd like to be part of this! I need a short-term goal. Starting at 160.5, 5'4". Would love to see 150 by July!!

Make sure your bike is adjusted to the right levels! Ask the instructor to help you if you haven't been to the class many times, cuz it might be different than you think it should be.

If you made every day like yesterday, you'd be in good shape. I haven't had fast food besides Subway, Quiznos and other sandwich type places in about four months, and it's helped accelerate my weight loss a lot. If you really really want something from a fast food place or Chinese, make sure you exercise that day and give…

Got down to a 10-minute mile pace!! Three miles in 30 minutes. Made me happy.

I don't bother with salad unless it has lots of chicken for the high protein, which keeps me more full. But after a hard workout, I would definitely go with something more substantial. Maybe chicken and brown rice instead, or something like that.

Gotta love statements like this.

1.) No more knee pain 2.) Being able to wear a MEDIUM size shirt, not XL 3.) Not having to shop for only flowy shirts so my stomach doesn't show 4.) Feeling more attractive and confident, especially with my boyfriend 5.) Better digestive system! (Have IBS...a healthy diet and exercise really can work wonders, especially…

For some reason I love green olives on mine. Orowheat bread, butter and Tillamook cheese. Pretty simple, pretty delicious.
