So, just popping in here to share a dessert recipe that totally saved me over the holidays. I splurged and bought some birch xylitol to make this cheesecake :http://www.intoxicatedonlife.com/2012/05/27/new-york-style-cheesecake-low-carb-gluten-free/ and then made this for a topping:…

Thanks for sharing what works for you! I'm new to the LCHF lifestyle and trying to learn more. The question I'm left with after reading your post is can you maintain this diet plan over the long haul and if not, how do you avoid weight gain when you either add foods or change up your macros?

I really don't know, but since I eat only a very small amount and the carbs in a quarter cup of white basmati rice properly prepared (see the washingtonpost link above) are reduced by half, that would be 5g carb. I'm just learning, but here's some info:…

Haha.....my first time posting in here and not one response! Fail! Well, anyway, I found out the answer to my question from John Bagnulo.....LCHF guru.....check him out on fb! If anyone IS interested in nutrient values of white basmati rice cooked and immediately cooled 12 hours to increase the resistant starch and…

There was a wild nor'easter blowing a gale outside Below zero and over a foot of snow had fallen with no signs of letting up. Her husband had been standing at the kitchen window, staring for hours. She guessed if it kept up much longer, she'd have to let him in.

I skipped right over all the replies, so don't know if someone has already mentioned kombucha, but probably not! lol! It is fizzy, very low cal, has some beneficial properties, tastes good (can be an acquired taste for some), comes in a variety of flavors and some brands have small amounts of alcohol. However, you probably…

Me, too! Smells kinda like meat going bad to me. However, I do like the occasional sub on flatbread with grilled chicken, cheese, most of the veggies and spicy mustard, toasted! Pretty darn good for fast food! :)

Bored, much? ;)

Thank you for the link to this recipe! It sounds really yummy. Might toss some garlic in with the spinach! Do you use regular rice or minute rice?

Well, first off, your son is precious!! After looking at your profile and your friends list, only thing I'd suggest is to get more friends that have a more realistic view of life and what a woman should look like.

I had a laid-back weekend and took it easy, trying to shake this cold! I stayed under calories both days despite no exercise calories! Today was 2 hours of pickleball, tomorrow is an hour of pickleball clinic, and another 2 hours on Wednesday unless we get rained out, which is a distinct possibility! I'm feeling on track…

Here's an easy, yummy way to get loads of vegetables into your meal: There is a bit of chopping involved, but you could buy the veggies pre-chopped. Let's call it "Veggie/Protein Scramble". For the protein, brown 1 pound lean ground meat (beef, turkey, sausage, etc), tempeh, or tofu and set aside. In a large skillet, add…

The good news: I've weighed in and entered it on the spreadsheet! The not-so-great news is that I still weigh the same as my initial weigh-in! :ohwell: That's fine, I'll take it! I know I'm on the right track! Today's goal is to enjoy life! Outside to continue garden harvest and clean-up, then hit the pickleball court for…
