  • Ham and Cheese Keto Stromboli. I LOVE these! Each one is four servings and I got the recipe from Ruled.Me. I made an extra one so I could take them for lunches this week. They reheat pretty well in the microwave.
  • I've been thinking a lot about this, and I'm in! I've pretty much been naturally moving to eating this way the past couple of weeks anyway, so why not?! Plus, I'm curious to see the effect it has on my body. For those who do this regularly, what does your daily meal plan look like?
  • I mentioned in passing to my mother-in-law that I was doing a LCHF diet. She warned me to be weary of a diet that promotes eating fat. She's terrified of it. Of course, she grew up learning that fat was bad for you. I just don't mention it to her any more. There's a ton of dietary misinformation out there, and everyone has…
  • ... you stir some peanut butter, cream cheese and whipped cream together in a bowl and think that's a perfectly reasonable, delicious, and well-balanced meal.
  • SW: 232 CW: 214.6 I started keto about 5 days ago and was at 220lbs.
  • This post just made my day!
  • Breakfast — Skipped it because I wasn't hungry Morning Snack — Handful of raw almonds, walnuts and pecans, and few dried cranberries Lunch — Salad with roasted chicken, cabbage, red pepper, shredded carrots and ranch dressing Dinner — Husband is working, so I'll probably just have eggs and bacon with some spinach and…
  • I struggle to get my husband on board with me, too. He encourages me, and when he cooks, he picks meals based on my dietary needs. He tried eating low carb for a few weeks after he saw how well I was doing, and he lost 20 pounds! I thought that would get him motivated, but he slacked off. Last night, for example, he cooked…
  • Today Breakfast — Coffee with butter, coconut oil and an egg Lunch — Chicken and cabbage salad with almond butter dressing Dinner — New York Strip (We're thinking of doing a siracha steak and eggs with some spinach, but that's still up in the air.) Snacks — If I feel like a snack, I may have a handful of nuts or some…
  • Yep! I read about it on the Ketogenic Success Facebook Page a couple of months ago. Sounds disgusting, I know, but it's delicious! I rinse the egg first in warm water then blend it up with the coffee, butter and coconut oil.
  • Bulletproof Coffee blended with an egg: Chicken and cabbage salad with Almond Butter Dressing: Proscuitto-wrapped eggs with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes and berries: New York Strip with roasted asparagus and cherry tomatoes: For Easter dinner, we had grilled Greek chicken kabobs with roasted asparagus and balsamic glazed…
  • I'm all in for Ad Libitum April! I'm so tired of counting calories, and lately, have not been tracking religiously at all. I don't think I'm ready for the all meat challenge. I really really do love my veggies. I'm excited to see everyone's results on both of these challenges!
  • B — Coffee with 1T of butter, 1T coconut oil, 1 egg, and stevia L — 9 oz baked chicken and a garden salad with ranch dressing D — Bacon, eggs and zesty cheddar biscuits (recipe from No Bun, Please) If I feel like a snack, I'll probably grab a handful of nuts or a peanut butter cup fat bomb.
  • Welcome to the forum! There are so many wonderful people here, and you will find a wealth of great advice and encouragement. Feel free to add me! I always welcome new friends!
  • I've been eating LCHF for two months now, and I'm finding that my cravings diminish the longer I stick to this plan. I also tried low carb in the past, but never incorporated in high amounts of fats because I thought fats were bad. The high fat aspect makes a huge difference! Pinterest is a great place to find recipes.…
  • A.) I usually order a salad and eat some of the toppings. B.) I usually make something different for myself, like Fathead Pizza, which is delicious! I'm becoming the person who brings food with them to get-togethers. This past weekend, my niece had a birthday party, and my SIL fixed spaghetti and meatballs (and veggie…
  • @GaleHawkins and @bcedl1982 Thank you for your kind words. I'll be interested to see how things continue to develop in the link between cancer and high carb/sugar diets. There have been so many studies published in the last year showing the benefits of replacing carbs with healthy fats. I'm trying to convince my younger…
  • Interesting post. My mom died from breast cancer almost three years ago. I remember going with her to a chemo treatment, and while we were there, a nutritionist visited her and promoted eating a low-fat diet, which she said helps in the fight against cancer. ... Perhaps things would have turned out differently if we had…
  • I live in a small rural town, so there aren't a ton of options. I mostly try to hit our local restaurants, if possible, because they will usually work around my diet. There's a local deli that will make any sandwich into a salad. Our local BBQ joint also has some great low carb options. As for chain restaurants, I hit up…
  • Anyone is welcome to add me. My diary is open to friends.
  • http://www.everydayhealth.com/news/carb-counting-101/?pos=1&xid=nl_EverydayHealthManagingDiabetes_20160216 This is the link to the article I referred to above. The title of the article is "How to Count Carbs for Better Blood Sugar Control." It then goes on to state that carbs should make up 40-60 percent of your diet; and…
  • I recently read an article that cited the ADA as a source; it recommended people with T2 diabetes eat 45-60 grams of carbs PER MEAL!!
  • My husband is a coffee snob, but thanks to him, I actually enjoy drinking it now ... especially with lots of heavy cream. We always buy whole bean and grind it ourselves. We actually just bought some coffee beans online and are going to try roasting them at home. Yum!
  • You're looking great! Good job! Congratulations on your loss!
  • I'm pinning those now! Thanks for sharing.
  • You should be proud! Great willpower!
  • I lost both of my parents in 2013. After my mom died, my sisters and I divided up her jewelry. I ended up with her original engagement ring and a ring my dad bought for their 25th wedding anniversary. I couldn't wear either of them, so they sat in my jewelry box for almost three years. However, today, I am proud to say I…

  • Since starting Keto, I've gotten a couple of small rashes on my stomach area. I use Boudreaux's Butt Paste and they clear right up within the next day or two. That stuff is great. I even use it as a face moisturizer if my skin gets too dry in the winter.
  • My husband and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. But it was snowing pretty hard here in Kentucky, so we snuggled on the couch with our dog, drank coffee (with lots of cream) and binge-watched "Game of Thrones." It was a great day! :)
  • I'm so jealous of your meal right now! Looks delicious!
