  • AROO!! My next Spartan Race is the Tokyo Sprint May 27th. Fellow Spartans, would you mind a friend request on here? My tribe could use a few more like minded individuals!
  • I ended up going with Sealfit, as I believe our long term objectives are more closely aligned. It's a smaller community and finding people that are willing to offer words of encouragement was easy to come by. Wfrazee, thanks for the insight. I'll probably still hook up with you this month.
  • I had the same idea. Today I planned to test it out during my treadmill routine. Keep us posted!
  • I've been a fitbit charge/user for two years and a Surge owner since I upgraded last month. I love it!! I have this continuous fear I will scratch the screen. I felt my Force/Charge was rugged from a scratch resistance standpoint... I am thinking about getting one of those films for over it...
  • Which tracker did you get? I had a Force/charge since they came out and recently upgraded to a surge.... I love it!
  • Hello all. I just started YAYOG (Basic) this month and thought I'd try to find some support on here.
  • I'm in the same boat. The door I use isn't so sturdy and will squeak a bit when ever I use it, but it hasn't given up on me yet!
  • I haven't read the Complete Calisthenics by Kalym, but I've done the other two. I like the structure of the app, and the stories in Wade's material. In either case, these are both good for basics and really cheap to buy, so I say you can't go wrong!
  • I have the convict conditioning book and the YAYOG app, waiting for the book to arrive. I was also wondering about the logging so I thought I'd put a bump on this thread.
  • I've owned a Fitbit for years. Never had an issue and I love their customer service. I have both a Garmin and Timex run trainer 2.0 for tracking runs and recently bought a Surge to replace it. You can't go wrong with a Fitbit.
  • .... I've decided to go with Sealfit. I'll report back in a week or two to let y'all know how it's going!
  • Totally agree with the logic there. I'm thinking the Sealfit trainer, but if you have any other suggestions, I'd be open to it!
  • It does OK for eating. (Usually once I lose the streak, I fall off the wagon for a minute) Regarding exercise, I have a fitbit for tracking daily activity. When I work out, I use a timex run keeper (gps watch) with a polar heart rate monitor to log info, etc. I post the data to the timex site, trainingpeaks.com
  • @middlehaitch‌ - That is awesome! Thanks for sharing! (And it's great news!)
  • I'm not looking for videos, plans, or diets. I have those. (For example, I have a workout plan that follows a crossfit / hiit and I have done well following a paleo / low carb diet. ) The reason I am looking for an online trainer is to have someone to check in with while in a Japan. A real person that can give feedback. I…
  • You can link multiple fitbits to one account....just don't double dip the calories burned / steps per day.
  • I agree. Nutrition is 80% of the game. I believe you can't count calories alone, you need to consider all your macronutrients. For example if you're mostly (80%) carbs and the majority of those are sugar....Houston we have a problem!
  • Fitbit is such a great company! I can't wait to put a Charge HR or a Surge on my wrist!!!!
  • Having a reliability partner is key. A fitbit that tracks calorie output is second best. Using booth those tools with MFP will help anyone bounce back....(And maybe prevent it from slipping in the future)
  • I might offer something slightly more specific than "Pack a lunch"... Although the best trick is will power, you need to have a trump card to pull out on a tough day. Ok, so you packed a lunch and ate it... You're still hungry, so now what? I recommend taking a protein bar, meal bar, or shake and putting it somewhere in…
  • I believe you have to put good data in.... Although noting that, I would say it's important to give your body nutrition after stressing it out at the gym. I've had my fitbit for a while and feel it's very accurate as I've tested it against a heart rate monitor and a RMR test... They were within 5% of each other. That being…
  • One of the local hospitals near me was able to test my RMR (Resting metabolic rate) and VO2 Max (Heart rate zones for understand lactic acid threshold). It determined based on my RMR that my caloric intake should be 1790 on a day I don't work out. If I did 60 minutes of cardio that burned 510 calories (Per my Heart rate…
  • I would be liking all the positivity on this thread! Crazy awesome support! :) Always a good pick me up to read the success stories!
  • I use an activity tracker, the Fitbit force. I also use a heart rate monitor. Between these two items they give you a pretty good estimate of your daily caloric burn. Usually if I monitor the entire day with both, they are only 5% different. I use the Fitbit daily (I never take it off), but I only use the heart rate…
  • I agree. That seems to work great. I also did crossfit, but that's extreme high intensity.
  • 1. Any weight I have lost was due to counting carbs, not calories. (Given you need more protein than fat - roughly 1g per lb) 2. I love paleo and think a caveman who is moderately low carb is the best way to go. 3. I track activity (Fitbit) and macros. The more faithful I am tracking the more conscience I am of it...the…
  • I agree. Look at a book called convict conditioning. I found it a fun read and good info on bodyweight (Free) exercises!
  • I take mine with organic heavy whipping cream. (zero carb but about 100 calories) yum yum yum!
  • Mondays - Super Pack (MultiVitamin pack -from Beverly International) Tuesday through Sunday: - Fit Tab (MultiVitamin -from Beverly International) - GNC Triple Strength Fish Oil + Vitamin D3, Softgels - IGF-2 by Applied Nutriceuticals (Before Bed) - L-Carnitine Plus Raspberry Ketones by Top Secret Nutrition (Twice daily) I…
