You know what solves all of these issues? Tight leashes and fences. I never have to worry about my dog attacking anyone because she is either in my fenced backyard, on a leash when we are out of the back yard (a 5ft leash that I hold at about 2 ft when others are near) or in my yard. She is the friendliest dog I have ever…

Last night I got 135 on squats and 90 on bench. I am still doing only 65 on row because something didn't feel right about them when I was doing them heavier (and they were bending my bad wrist weirdly). I will increase on all three next time. I am super excited to be able to do squats with the big plates! 90 on bench was…

I run a little, take a lot of walks with my pup, and do StrongLifts.

I did almost all of NROL4W and then switched to 5x5. I prefer 5x5 because it is less complex. In the later stages of NROL4W, they start doing a bunch of variations of exercises and accessory stuff. 5x5 only have 5 different exercises. I see maybe people could get bored with 5x5, but I love SL.

I joined. My name is Ashleydidz if you want to add me. :)

It's more about helping you continue to progress. If you don't deload now, you're just going to get stuck on the next week. Going down will give you 3 workouts to progress to 100 and let you get stronger in the meantime.

Just started SL 3 weeks ago. I am 26, female. Current stats: Squats: 80 OH Press: 60 Deadlift: 125 Bench: 60 Row: 80

Least favorite: rows Favorite: OHP and bench

I like your knowledge. :)

Workout felt great today! Squats 70 lb 5x5 - for some reason these felt way easier than 65 did. No complaints. OHP 55 5x5 - I was talking to the bar about how bad a** I was. OHP makes me feel tough DL 115 1x5 - Still not sure about these. I don't feel any pain and they feel decent, but I don't feel them in my hamstrings…

This burpee challenge sounds interesting. I think I'll pass. :) Yesterday, I got my new rack and bench put together, all by myself, with only a little help from husband to help do the top because I couldn't reach. After it was put together, I lifted. I did Workout A for the second time: Squat - 55 5x5 BP - 50 5x5 Row - 70…

You look great! Great job! I hope you never find your double chin!

If you have already created the weight loss bay, go to "Community" and then "Settings" under the message board section and check to include the Ticker. To create a Ticker, you can do this under the "Apps" tab, then click "Ticker". It is automatically updated each time you weigh in. (I just did this so it's fresh on my mind…

I absolutely love NSV. Been a good week for NSV: My pants feel looser I got my husband, who NEVER does physical activity, to start C25K with me. Logged for 5 days Bought weights and did my first lifts for SL5x5 Back to walking with a limp due to being sore Hit 10,000 steps at least 3 days this week Husband actually…

These make me wonder if I would lift better if I wore a unitard :)

Hi everyone! I had done StrongLifts before last year, but stopped for no good reason and decided to start doing it again. I am starting fresh at the recommended weights, but that meant last night's work out wasn't too difficult, but I am feeling it today. Workout A Squat: 45 5x5 Bench: 45 5x5 Row: 65 5x5 I just purchased…

Finished week 4 today. I guess that means workout number 12. Workout: Squats 5x5 95 lbs (excited to hit 100 next time!) OHP 5x5 70 lbs (also excited to hit 75 next time, but it is likely I will fail there) Deadlift 1x5 140 lbs (so exciting to be able to use the real plates for once) Then did some accessory pull up and ab…

Had a total moment at the gym today - We were doing 80 lb squats so I figured that we needed 35 lbs. But I forgot to cut that in half for how much to put on each side so instead of squatting 80, I loaded the bar with 115. I did my first set and was like wow these are really hard today, but I ran 4 miles yesterday so I…

I've been stalking the boards for a while but I figure it's time to drop in and intro myself! I did NROL4W for Stages 1-3 before I got sick of it and decided to try something new. I am now doing SL 5x5 with some coworkers + adding some accessory lifts with the goal being able to do pull ups. I did Week 3 day 2 today.…

This is my third week of doing SL. I am loving it! July goals: Squat: 140 Bench: 95 Overhead press: 70 Barbell row: 95 Deadlift: 150 Other goals? Be able to run 8 miles Eat less awful processed food Log on the weekends

You look amazing! Wow what 26 lbs can do! Keep up the hard work.

My best advice is that if you're not a morning person, don't force it. I tried for a while to get up in the morning and work out and I just dreaded it. Now I work out right after work and I find it much easier. If you aren't a morning person, you may just be setting yourself up for failure. If you really do want to workout…

As far as keeping cardio, technically I should tell you the book tells you not to. But for me, I need to keep my running up, so I typically run around a 5k on my off days.

I've posted a few success stories on my blog: www.losingatlosing.blogspot.com I am not finished with it yet, but most of the time, I love the program! Feel free to add me!

Congrats! I actually just had the trainer at my gym say he was impressed by my 3a2 workout. Stage 3 is no joke.

I am kinda excited for my 2nd A workout tonight... but B is boring! I don't think the cobras are that hard, just boring. I have to distract myself during them, watching TV or reading something. I'm ready for the pain of BWM tonight!

I do cardio of some sort on my non-lifting days. Usually a 2-3 mile run, a long walk with the dog, stair climber, or elliptical. I wouldn't recommend doing anything like p90x or Insanity that uses the same muscles as lifting because you won't allow your muscles to recover. The workouts will get longer and I'm not sure…
