C4 worked well for me, and I'm very sensitive to caffeine. Recently though, to save money and to control what/how much of the ingredients I'm ingesting, I started making my own PWO by mixing beta-alanine (because I like the tingly/itchy feeling), creatine, and a flavor packet. You can also add BCAAs if you'd like,…

Jazz apples are my favorite! The texture is simply amazing.

When you exercise, your muscles fill up with blood and increase (temporarily) in size.

Mine is public, but my sugar is always way over. I'm a big fruit eater.

Fabulous post! It's great to hear that I'm not the only one who suffers through the first 10 minutes. A lot of the time I'm thinking, "Seriously? If running one mile is this hard, how in the heck am I going to do the 3, 4 or 5 that I plan on running?" Then once that first mile is out of the way, I'm good to go.

Doritos dipped in sour cream used to be one of my favorite snacks. At least I was eating the baked ones, right? I still crave that combo every now and then. :(

Even the person who finishes last finishes ahead all the people at home on their couches or still in bed. Just finishing is a victory. * FWIW, I highly doubt you'll come in last.

My first 5K was a Turkey Trot. At the time, I had never ran three miles. When I signed up, I didn't realize that the course was a cross country course, through woods with lots of steep climbs. Luck would have it that it rained the night before and the trail was a cold, muddy mess. I was used to running on the road, I did…

It's great that you are so motivated! Just make sure that you don't burn yourself out, and don't beat yourself up if you miss a workout. Scheduling something for every day of the week can be dangerous just because things tend to come up that can make you miss a work out. Scheduling your workouts is a great way to get on…

If you're a new runner, I would suggest running on MWF, but not on T/TH. If your body is already accustomed to running 5 days a week, then go for it! Also, make sure to give your body enough time to rest and repair.

I have had my Schwinn for about 5 years (not sure which model) and have been nothing but pleased with it. It's quiet, run smoothly, and cost about $600-700.

I'm 5'6" and my dream weight is 125. My body seems to be happy at 130-135 though as I've been maintaining in that range for about 18 months. My highest weight was 150.

One box of devil's food cake mix (I try to get the low sugar kind) One 15 oz can of pumpkin Mix the cake mix and pumpkin well. Scoop into paper liners. Bake for 15-20 minutes in an oven that has been preheated to 400 degrees. For a bit more indulgence, you can add a few mini semi sweet chocolate chips (though these are…

My run yesterday was in the rain. As long as it's not pouring down, exercising in the rain is fabulous!

I did a quick 30 minute bi/tri workout at the gym and hit the pavement for a 3 mile run. That was yesterday. Not sure what I'll do today.

I'm not sure what the price is at GNC, but I usually order mine from www.bodybuilding.com. Every now and then they send me a 15% coupon, so I just wait for that.

Do a google search on Basic Metabolic Rate and research the concept a bit. You should also be able to find a BMR calculator to find out approximately what your body is burning at rest. This number is basically the number of calories your body uses to function at a healthy level. You don't want to fall too far below that…
