  • Thanks everyone for your comments. I weighed in today at 215 so it really was just the scale messing with me. Sticking to once a week weigh ins from now on!
  • Thanks all for replying. I do realize I am making myself crazy, but I actually feel like I'm a good candidate to WIN the competition and it's just a little frustrating that the water weight seems to keep making its way on to me no matter what I do. I know it's not real weight and that I've been diligent with tracking. I…
  • I do realize I am being impatient, but the 218-220 I did literally gain in 1 day. I am not expecting to be down 5 lbs or anything yet, I would be happy with 2, but my weight is bouncing so far over the place that I have barely seen any loss at all. Surely 1500 cals with fairly frequent exercise should yield something...
  • Good point on the non-liquid food weighing, but much of it is in containers or the entries are set up in a way that more precise entry and weighing isn't quite as feasible. I will make a greater effort in this.
  • I've heard Fitbits aren't 100% accurate so I wanted to err on the side of caution, but it's possible that it's closer than I think. I don't know how I'd confirm if it is accurate or not. I know my logging is inaccurate, WW has you log "servings" and for many foods will not allow you to log by weight. Right now I don't…
  • To your points, I think it is a combination of inaccurate logging and suppressed metabolism. I've done WW for the past year, on and off, and their counting system isn't very exact. Additionally, I know I'm eating more on weekends, and I don't know if that's balancing it out (it could be? I guess so if I'm not losing…
  • I do like WW meetings, so I think I'll pay for another month or two but stop using the Points system. If I lose more weight (which would be like 3 lbs in a month) by just counting calories, I'll stop overall, or see if my health insurance covers it - the meetings are a great form of support and accountability but the…
  • As someone said before, satiety is personal. Little oatmeal packets don't do much for me but steel-cut oats do a great job keeping me full. What also works for me is protein and fiber - a breakfast sandwich of egg whites on a whole grain English muffin.
  • @jaedwa1 this is the issue I'm facing as well. WW is pushing me away from healthy fats, which keep me fuller longer, and for weekly points, making even one treat almost all of them - a 500 calorie bagel could be 20 points, whereas 500 calories of chicken and broccoli is like 10. I feel like even one treat blows through all…
  • Yep. Mom is 5'7, Dad is 6'3, brother is 6'5...and I'm 5'4. Awesome.
  • Wasn't one of Zoe Saldana's first movie roles as a dancer? Pretty sure she's just naturally tiny. You never hear anyone giving anyone *kitten* for a BMI of 25 (which is technically overweight). Different bodies, different sizes. My bare skeleton is probably 120. We all just need to be the best WE can be.
  • ALL brands do this. ALL. OF. THEM. I think it started to either prevent stealing or flooding the market, I don't remember which. Abercrombie's not the only brand that does this.
  • If someone described big girls as lazy, smelly or nasty - I would be outta there so fast, big or small. However, I think having looks preferences for a partner, expressed politely (or not at all - it rarely needs to be said) is valid - we ALL have physical preferences. The only time I might object to this is if the guy…
  • omfg who cares? It's their business decision who they want to sell to. No one is entitled to their clothes and all of this is only helping their business (which has poorly made, overpriced clothes anyway). Now people will feel even better wearing Abercrombie because they know they're skinny enough for it. If you want to…
  • 41.5 inch hips and 25 inch thighs. For some perspective, my waist is 28.5 inches. I literally carry it ALL in my lower half.
  • I've only done them a few times so I can't speak to results, but her videos have fun music and she's a fun instructor! After watching too many Jillian videos, it's nice to have a cheery instructor for once!
  • It depends. Sometimes (like this morning) I eat at 9am, other days I don't eat till like 2pm without even realizing it. I do like breakfast foods though! Waffles, bacon, eggs...mmm!
  • If you're eating MORE than TDEE, like you stated in your OP, then you're getting bulky because you are....well, bulking! If you want to stay the same/smaller, you need to eat AT TDEE or cut. Eating more food is what's making you big, don't blame the innocent little weights!
  • I was a competitive swimmer and lacrosse player in high school. Got up to 200 lbs in college, I've lost 50 and I only have maybe 10-20 more to go. Good thing I banked all that muscle mass while I was still growing!
  • 1. Stop drinking so much. Alcohol has calories! 2. Working out does not cancel out the food you eat. 3. Eating a medium pizza in an 8 hour shift is not a good idea even if it is cheap. 4. Just because you eat healthy "most of the time" does not mean you will lose weight. 5. Count calories. 6. Weigh yourself. I can fit the…
  • I like yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, honey, and strawberries. Sounds weird but you can't taste the cottage cheese, it just makes it thick and adds lots of protein. Since I can't afford protein powder, I drink these instead when I'm low on protein.
  • Today I had chicken, cheese, avocado, peppers, onions, and cucumbers with taco seasoning, it was pretty good!
  • I do 5x5 and love it, but make sure you practice your form a lot! I'm taking a week off now because I didn't do that and now my back hurts. And don't feel like you have to progress as fast as the program - it goes up pretty quickly and you don't want to sacrifice form for more weight.
  • So, you're telling me that fruit, alcohol, late night carbs, and butter will undo my hard work? Please tell the 50 lbs I've lost that I ate ALL of these things every day, I must have tricked them off somehow anyway! I did WW for about 6 months and it helped me a lot. I don't do it any more, but I don't have a slowed…
  • Lift heavy, run, and pray. I have chunky thighs too and I've had them even as a slim high school athlete. They aren't going without a fight. Make sure your diet is on point and don't neglect strength training, and prepare for war!
  • I do primal because dairy doesn't affect me adversely, it only helps me increase my protein (which I totally need)! I usually have a cheat meal once a week where I drink beer and eat what I want, and it hasn't affected weight loss. Today I had puff pastry pizza...ugh and it did NOT agree with me. I won't be cheating again…

  • My immune system, I almost never get sick even when people around me are.
  • Thanks all, I think it is a grip issue so I will work on that first!
  • A few of them are a tiny bit ripped and I try to use shea butter on them after every session. I deadlifted today and I'm not due to go again til Tuesday (when I want to break this plateau!) This may be a weird question but should I...shave them or something with a pumice stone? Or is a little bit of a callus better when…
  • I've never even heard of liquid chalk, can you find that at sporting good stores? I will check my grip form too, I'm sure there are all sorts of problems with it because I've never even thought about that!
