I don't deprive myself, that only makes me want something more. My keys to success is moderation. If I want Pizza, I have pizza for one meal with smaller portions and compensate the remaining meals staying at or under calories for the day.

I'm 5' and 1/2" (at least I hope I still have that 1/2") and have found now that I am 50 it is harder than ever to stay the same or to loose. I hit my goal weight of 102 almost 3 years ago and have stayed within a couple pounds. I still track what I eat, it keeps me honest. Unfortunately, a few pounds on us small framed…

5' and 1/2", 50 YO been bouncing around 101 - 105 for almost 3 years now.

Congrats!!!! I use the mobile app most of the time. Been at my goal weight for almost 3 years now. Keeps me honest plus I don't forget to log as often since I can do it right after eating. Stick to what you have learned on this weight loss journey. Your new eating habits will help you maintain. Remember, it's not a diet,…

I prefer the low end for me as well. If I get up to the high end I cut my food intake for a few days and get right back where I am comfortable. Been doing that for almost 3 years now.

I am 5' 1/2" and am down to 102lbs, still can't find clothes that fit. It doesn't matter if you are plus size or not. With vanity sizing everything is to big and always to long even petites. Today I am wearing a skirt I have had for years (one I didn't get rid of when I was heavy) it is a size 4 and fits perfect. The new…

Yep lost 40 lbs and kept it off for 3 years now. Lost the weight on WW but after maintaining here the points I was using translate to 1200 or less.

I get that from my Mom of all people. The same person who told me I was getting heavy. Can't win. I am 5' 1/2" and 102lbs. Just keep reminding her I weighed 98lbs when I got married and she didn't think I was to skinny then.

bananas, greek yogurt and cheese I buy my meat in bulk and my husband is a hunter so it's in the freezer :)

I stay away from prepacked foods, too much sodium. Fresh fruits and veggies are great for on the go quick meals.

I am 50 yrs old, 5' 1/2" 102 lbs MFP has me at 1230 for maintenance. If I eat that much every day I gain. I stay between 1000 & 1100. Been staying the same weight for 3 yrs that way.

It's OK to eat several small meals a day, just kept it healthy. Fast food messes with my system so I avoid it like the plague. I am 5' 1/2" (yes I count the 1/2", worked hard for that, LOL). I have been able to maintain my goal weight of 102 lbs for 3 years now. )Lost 40 lbs) I rarely eat 1200. I stay closer to 1000. I am…

I agree with NikonPal too. I have been maintenance for almost 2 years now. Continuing to log my intake and my weight keep me accountable. I never want to be fat again so this is now my routine. I quit logging for a few months and found myself slipping back to old habits. So much so my IBS is in full uproar again. I am…

Welcome! You are on the right track. I am 5' and 1/2" and soon to be 50 with grown kids still at home (my youngest just graduated high school). It is harder for us because a small gain is noticeable. I lost 40lbs 2 1/2 years ago and have kept it off. I can't do strenuous workouts so I walk and ride my bike when I can.…

No it is not impossible and you do not need to obsess. I have been at my goal weight for 2 1/2 years now. I do still track what I eat, but I don't obsess. I gain weight easily so I have to be conscious of what I put in my mouth. As others have said, it is a lifestyle change not a diet.
-
Congratulations!!!! Welcome to maintaining. I found it best to ease into increasing your intake.

Agree 100%! Been at or below goal for over 2 years now. Recently made the move from Weight Watcher to MFP. Took a little to get used to calories vs points, but I know I have to track intake and continue to weigh in or it'll all slip back on. Never want to be that unhappy person again.

I am 5' and 1/2", almost 50 yrs old, and weigh 101 right now. My heaviest was 142. I have a very small frame and my current BMI is 19.7.I have never been accused of being to thin. Mostly depends on your frame. According to Dr, healthy weight range for 5" tall is 95 - 128 and BMI is 18.5 - 25.

I still weigh myself every morning. I find if I don't, weight goes up really fast. It's another thing I do to keep myself accountable. It's not for everyone though. You have to do what works for you.

Drinking water helps with feeling hungry. The other thing I have found to work is drinking a glass of fat free milk. At our age (I am 49) we need the calcium anyway.

Just shy of 50, 5' 1/2", SW 140, CW 102 and loving it. Feel free to add me. Took almost a year to loose the nearly 40 lbs using Weight Watchers, been at goal for 2 years now.

I am 49, 5' 1/2" (yes I count the 1/2") been maintaining on WW for 2 years. Bounce around between 101 & 104. Just made the switch to MFP. Feel free to add me, I could use all the support I can get. The switch to counting calories threw my for a loop. Think I have it together now.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I am just going to keep doing what I had in the past and not panic.

Thank you all! I work at a desk for 8.5 hours a day so not much activity. Still have kids at home so not much time for Mom. I eat very little if any processed food. I am a scratch cook, I can my own veggies, buy only fresh meats from a local locker...... Been using MFP for only 3 weeks and have stayed the same weight, just…

I am 5' 1/2" and am going to be 50 this summer. Gaining weight has always been easy for me to do, loosing it......not so much. People (even in my own family) just don't get how hard it is to stay slim when 5lbs means your jeans are to tight. I recently left weight watchers because I have been at my goal weight for 2 years.…

I am 49 yrs old, 5' and 103 lbs with the same problem. I find things at Charolotte Russe, H&M, Body Central, and on line Victoria's Secret. VC can be expensive, but shop the clearance area. Their 0 or XS fit me perfect and they have short length on pants. Their clothes are a bit more age appropriate, they have become my go…
