I tried IF but it made me sad. Evidently breakfast is important for my mood! A lot of people find it great though, good luck with it!

You can definitely tell. Keep going, it's working!

I don't eat them back at all, but I'm also not completely accurate when logging (I don't weigh or measure food, for example) so I like to think that the extra exercise calories make up for anything I've underestimated when logging :)
-
It is a pain, but once you've inputted most of your favourite meals it gets a lot easier :)

It's all about making good drink choices. I love cider, but at 220 cals a pint, it's difficult to fit it in under my goal. Instead I have a small glass of wine (85 cals) or if I'm having a big night out I'll drink JD and Diet Coke (65 calories). And I pre-log beforehand. It's totally do-able :) Good luck.

I agree, I'd really try not to eat at 2am, you don't want to make it a habit. I'd have a cup of tea and try and get back to sleep :)
-
I don't log diet drinks, hot sauce (unless I have a LOT of it), herbs and spices, and I don't accurately log tea and coffee, I put 4 cups a day which I think is about my average. Life's too short and I'm still losing weight :)

I have goosebumps! So inspirational. Seriously, well done.

I agree with the others - I'm under my calorie goal some days so that I know I've got a 'cushion' for if I go out and drink too much wine / eat a whole pizza on other days. I find this a LOT easier than trying to stick to an exact number every day with no wiggle room for general life fun :)

This thread is awesome :D Now when I see photos of myself, my first thought isn't immediately "I look huge :(" Now, just look like a normal person! :)

Joining in with the mushroom love! I microwave them with loads of chopped garlic and put them on pizzas / in salads / in stir fries / in omelettes. Yum!
-
Do they sell cheap bags of stir-fry veg near you? That literally takes minutes to cook (I add spices, hot sauce and a few eggs for extra protein) and is healthy and really low calorie.

I've lost 8lbs recently and I can tell the difference, especially in how my clothes fit. Today I'm wearing one of my favourite floral dresses - I used to have to squish myself into it but now it fits fabulously :)

I agree, I found it a lot easier just giving up sweets/chocolate/biscuits. The first few days are HORRIBLE and (if you're like me) you'll be a complete grumpus, but it's so much easier when you stop eating them completely. No cravings, super easy to stay within your calorie goal, better for your teeth. I'm pretty annoyed…

My secret is those big bags of pre-prepared salad leaves. Soooo much food for so few calories. Beefs up any low cal meal.
-
Same here! I've been really good for the last month, but eaten so much over the past 4 days! (Even surpassed 3,000 calories on Christmas Eve, jeez). I'm definitely not weighing myself for at least another week until the water weight and bloat has had time to settle. And I'm back under my calorie limit as of today. :)

Everyone here looks amazing. Well done, guys!

Hello! I'm 5'4", currently around 158 and want to get to 140. Doesn't sound like much but man, this is hard! :)
-
I swear the low fat ones come in a smaller portion too. They're definitely not as tasty as the delicious chemical-salt-and-fat-filled regular Supernoodles. Mmmmm.
-
Why not set a reminder on your phone? And pre-prepare meals and snacks to bring with you so that they only take a few minutes to actually eat.
-
Strawberry Split ice lollies are only 74 calories, and they take ages to eat! Either that or a yoghurt.
-
Why don't you work out the TDEE for lightly active, then work out the TDEE for moderately active, and then take the average of both of them? If you're not totally sure whether you quite reach the level of moderately active, I'd go for this :) I think you're definitely above lightly active though!

Thanks everyone :)

I'd be interested in this too. Any YouTube videos recommended for starting weight training?

My biggest shocker was a Caffe Nero Coconut Frappe - 516 calories! That's more than half a pizza!
-
Hey! I'm around 163ish and 5"4' with a TDEE -- 20% of around 1800 calories. I've lost weight very slowly on that (although a lot of days I did go above it, sometimes even up to 2300) so now I'm aiming for 1400ish calories per day in the knowledge that the extra 400 calories are there if i do slip up. In conclusion, I know…

Hello! I'm a 26 year old UK veggie with almost exactly the same story! Around 73kg now, looking to get back down to 63kg, put on weight due to stressful study snacking (and the discovery of Lidl 39p white chocolate...mmmm). Only difference is that I'm a lady. Good luck with your journey, there's loads of support here…

I've found that splashing out on those pre-prepared bags of baby salad leaves really helps me - you can eat half the pack for 30 calories and it makes whatever small meal you're eating seem much more substantial!
-
Definitely agree with this! Being thin won't magically solve all of your problems or make you happy. I'm thinking of it as the icing on the cake.
-
I'm 5'4" and I'd like to get back down to around 140. I can't believe when I was 140 a few years ago I thought I was fat!
