What do you wear to run outside? Do you attempt to run at the same pace you run indoors? Maybe try taking water with you and using it to cool the back of your neck and see if that helps? Sorry I don't have more helpful suggestions!

Seriously, rest. I know it's hard and boring (I had surgery back in February) but you need to recover. Find another focus, craft or photography and explore that. It's not going to massively affect your progress.

Loving the idea of pacers at parkrun, I wish mine had some. I've been twice now, once alone and one with the boyfriend and dog and loved both. There's also some lovely pictures of us running this week which photographers are happy for me to use for free! I'm currently just using it to track progress when coming back from a…

I'm another one who bases meals around protein. Salmon is great; maybe paired with brown rice and breadcrumbs on top to help incorporate starches, smoked on top of english muffins, grilled with breadcrumbs, in stir-fry with noodles. Chicken; cooked and shredded in pasta with veggies, with mushroom sauce and rice, with…

Apples and cinnamon is nice and can taste like apple pie! Or honey and raspberries which I love. Peanut butter? Cocoa powder

If it gets your heart rate up it should help but think of all the benefits other than weight loss too. It should improve your mood, relieve stress and increase energy helping your afternoon to go more smoothly.

Great job berry and amazing attitude!

I got 8/10 however it frustrated me as it focuses on the calories not the nutritional content!

Agree with asking your doctor. If you're waiting for treatment in terms of an operation etc then it's not worth pushing it further.

This was lovely to read, makes me more patient with these final few pounds

I', 5'3" (163cm) and currently around 118lb, looking at the thread I think eating more may help me shift the final few lbs I want. But it seems so backwards I struggle to get my head around it!

This excites me a lot (I know I need a life!)

BBQ idea sounds perfect for meat etc and salad if possible. I'll be in the same situation from 8th October for 8 -10 weeks :(

Bumping for later, thank you!

You pick your vacation to suit your running need! You forget normal socks when working away but not socks for running (all the time!)

I'd say eat at the dining hall, definitely email your dietician for advice but you need to eat enough, thats the most important thing

You will have an amazing time, I ran my first marathon this year and loved every second of it. Dedication is important along, someone to run with it great but I did manage to train by myself. Feel free to add me.

Fantastic. Just take care of those titanium bits!

Heptathlete would be nice!

alliesamcat got it perfectly. I experimented with pre run and found that white toast with jam works best for me, be aware high fibre foods may cause digestive issues. During, if a long run of over 10 miles, either jelly beans or nuts or dried food with squash that has a pinch of salt in. After depends but usually something…

You all look amazing. Berry I promise to join in next month!

This threads just made me feel a lot better. I have this problem too and really upsets me!

As a marathon runner I can state long distance running didn't slim my thighs, and I trained on approx 1200 calories a day. Any cardio should help, although you don't want muscle you'll probably want that area to be toned so try to incorporate strength moves to the legs

I'm currently struggling with a knee issue due to running, best advice I can give is don't run through pain. Learn to distinguish it from discomfort and stop if it's painful. Look at potentially getting insoles, I found that I need them only in one shoe and they relieved the discomfort as they prevented knee rolling. What…

Watching this tonight, although my science brain can provide logic for all the points OP gave

5'3" I hover between 116-119, currently sitting at 117.5 I'd love to be comfortably at 110-112, but realistically I know it's hard to maintain below 115

BUMP! Guess what I'm doing tomorrow
