  • Hi there, I'm also in Ireland. I dont religiously track but I'm trying to get back into good habits for the new year. Feel free to add me :)
  • Fellow running hater here *waves*
  • Does anyone else find when they work out a lot their weight doesn't budge or even goes up!? I often find this and it's really frustrating. When I focus on food and only do small amounts of exercise like walking I loose weight. But when I log and work out hard my weight just hovers around the same. I am also hungrier so…
  • I'm 5'5" and currently at 163. Wearing size UK 12/ US 8. Sometimes larger in tops as I have a big chest and carry my weight on top. Brands also vary so much I find that I could be 10/12/14 depending on what it is!
  • I'm also in this camp and struggling! Food is my weakness. I've been on and off MFP for years and I'm finally in a place where I'm not overly concerned about my weight, but I would like to drop some fat. Doing well in the excercise department but need to start logging again. As someone else said going to up my protein and…
  • I'm in :-) I just recently got a road bike and I'm new to outdoor cycling. I've been spinning a few days a week since January. I'll be doing a combo of both and will set myself a goal of 150 miles for the month. 4/2 - Spinning 45mins approx 15 miles 4/4 - 7.25 miles
  • I just started spinning a month ago and I have to agree, go buy a gel seat! It helps a lot. Tonight is the first night my *kitten* didn't hurt and I could solely focus on giving it my all. Loving it!
  • I'm living in Dublin and I've been on here a little over a year. It's always nice to have new friends, so feel free to add me if you want!
  • Hey there, I'm in Dublin and I log on every day. Feel free to add me if you'd like! Always nice to have local friends. :)
  • Dublin, Ireland :) (American from Michigan)
  • I just joined on Tuesday. I'm in Ireland. I want to loose about 2 more stone and have kind of hit a wall so decided to try this and see how it goes. I know a couple people who have lost about 4 stone doing it. Feel free to ad me if you want to be sw buddies!
  • I was doing a 70 minute class for a few months. My instructor told us between 400-600 cals burned per session depending on weight. I never wore my heart rate monitor while doing it but I'd say it's on the up side of 600 cals. It's a lot of work!
  • I completely agree. There are so many opinions on here, it can all get very overwhelming. I love the site for logging exercise, but I tend to just do what I know works for me and stay away from threads that are heavily opinionated. Over time you will find what works for you and you have to stick with it. Good luck!
  • I'm the same as you. Have lost just under 25 pounds since I started dieting. Was all into exercising and being healthy...and then I went on vacation for a month. It ruined me! Im home now and having a really hard time getting back into it. I have really good days and then a bad day. I want to loose at least another 25 by…
  • Hey! I'm in Ireland too, feel free to ad me. Good luck with your journey! :)
  • If you want a challenge definitely try it! You can get the dvd on amazon for around 10 dollars. And all you need is hand weights and a mat for floor work. The good thing about it is it's only 25 minutes in total so you can easily fit it into your day. I never really lost any weight with it, but you will see changes in your…
  • I would also recommend anything by Jillian Michaels. You may not loose any weight but you will tone up with her dvds. The 30 day shred and Ripped in 30 are great work outs, plus only 25 minutes which is so easy to fit in! Good luck.
  • I kind of find summer harder than winter as well. When the bbq food comes out I am really really bad at saying No. There are so many more opportunities to have a glass of wine or a beer outside with friends, etc etc. So I do get what you're saying about winter v summer. I also think when you have been working hard at…
  • I also agree there are good fats and bad fats. Avocado, nuts, oily fish, coconut, etc is good fats. You need them to be healthy. Bad fat would be more saturated fats from fast food, chips, etc. I even think meat, full fat dairy and butter are fine in moderation. But I know that's not a common belief!
  • You look Amazing, well done lady!
  • I'm an American living and Dublin! Feel free to add me for support, I'm on here everyday!
  • Low GL is a different idea than Low GI. "The glycemic load (GL) is a ranking system for carbohydrate content in food portions based on their glycemic index (GI) and the portion size. Glycemic load or GL combines both the quality and quantity of carbohydrate in one ‘number’. It’s the best way to predict blood glucose values…
  • I am also a sahm to a 3 year old. I found it really hard at first staying at home. I was doing ok loosing weight until I quit breastfeeding, but I kept eating and gained more weight than while I was pregnant. It's not easy staying at home in my opinion because the temptation to eat is always there and food is so…
  • I'm an American living in Dublin, feel free to add me! Welcome to mfp and good luck with your goals. :)
  • I tend to go for 30 grams oatmeal, cooked with water. I put fresh berries on top and then top with a little skim milk and 2 tsp xylitol. I also like to add a tsp of linwoods or chia seeds for extra fibre. It's my favorite breakfast. :)
  • What a great story and amazing transformation. You should be so proud of yourself! :)
  • It's nice to see a thread on swimming. Ive never swam competitively but I've always loved the water and started swimming 2-3 times a week when I started dieting. It's a god send having a pool near our house in Dublin, as the weather can be so bad in the winter you wouldn't want to be outside so the pool is a nice change of…
  • Hey everyone, I'm an American living in Dublin for 5 years. I've been on my weight loss journey since January (only found mfp around march) and have lost 25 pounds so far. Kinda slacking off lately...really need to get back on the wagon. I'm still about 20 pounds off my goal weight. Going home to the US in July for 4 weeks…
  • I'm right there with you on this one! I'm always asking myself 'is it worth it?' But the fear of gaining the 20 lbs I've lost is there to keep me from giving up totally. It's so hard because I do want to be healthy and happy and skinny, etc etc. But I also love food! I love butter! I love cheese! My husband is thin and can…
  • That would totally make my day, too! Well done! :D
