I’m on week 6 of Piyo. I’m feeling amazing and can see changes. I’m also hiking, walking on the treadmill (a little to motivate my son) and doing things like push mowing the yard. My daughter is starting Barre Blend today. She tried Slim in 6, but she didn’t like the monotony and her knee started acting up.

What was your level of fitness prior to starting?

Looking to lose ~50lbs total in the next 1-2 years. Current: 172 Goal: 125

Wonderful!!

I have a similar story. Dad passed away last year (kidney cancer as well-saw in your profile). Gained back a bunch of weight, lost a bunch, gained most of it back. Calorie counting works, eating mostly vegan/non-processed works (both have for me anyway, separately in the past) and those strategies combined is what I'm…

I'm trying again too, and while I'm am not in menopause or hypothyroid, I understand both make it very difficult to lose weight. Best of luck to you!

Brushing your teeth is also a tip I've heard.

I do a "free" day once every two weeks. I usually log my breakfast and lunch just to keep my logins. I eat anything I want that day. Anything. I also gave myself complete eating freedom while at the beach last week (8 days) and two days after my return, my weight was unchanged. I ate so much, I have no idea how. Now I'm…

No sweet tea or soda for 6 months for me. I decided to cut it out for good (may drink tea again, but I feel like soda is something I can do without). I downloaded a countdown type app on my phone that tells me how many days since I've had soda...even has a pic of my last glass of it! Good luck!

To help stretch the foot and ease the pain freeze a bottle of water then roll your foot over it with a sock on. Be careful not to damage the skin with the ice, especially if you have any neuropathy/diabetes etc.

Don't be discouraged if you don't lose that much (though it is possible). A better goal might be 10 lbs.

Having a program like Jillian Michaels Body Revolution helps me because it is a schedule set by her that I choose to stick to.

One resource I use for health information is drweil.com

I just take the duration and mph and log it into mfp. I usually estimate low on mph and impact. For example, when I hike I just log it as "leisurely walking." Still got 450 extra cals Saturday after a two hour hike.

Keep going! If you find you are hungry or tired, don't be afraid to add more calories. I went from 1250 to 1650 and I'm actually consistently losing when before the losses were not consistent.

I realized that getting up at 5 is the only way I'm going to get in a workout every day. I go to bed between 11 and 12. Right now I'm doing Jillian Michael's Body Revolution and looking at Focus T25 next (both 30 mins a day).

Boiled eggs, baked sweet potato, pre-cooked chicken, avocado half, soybeans (just discovered I love these straight out of the pod, after microwaving). These are all ideas from my lunches this week. I do clinical at a medical office.

Usually I've had headaches about 3 days, then nothing. Right now I'm 132 days without soft drinks or sweet tea. Have had some coffee but not regularly.
-
I'm doing it without the meal plan. Just eating 1650 cals of whatever I eat (usually TRY to eat healthy, but I've had a lot of frappuccinos lately, lol). I did 1200 (before I started the program) for several months and just decided I needed to eat more despite usually feeling fine and not hungry on 1200.

Reese's cups with caramel on top of the peanut butter! Best thing ever!

Yeah, 15 dvds, 30 minutes a day. I think 90 days. I got a good deal on ebay. $40

I've read a lot about the Body Revolution. It has good reviews. I'm thinking of starting it in the a.m.

Ditto. Here's to a brighter tomorrow!

You can do about as well just using MFP, but I wouldn't expect to lose weight faster under any circumstances. You are losing at a healthy pace, but not in a sustainable way. Quit that expensive and unsatisfying stuff and eat real food, Calories In, Calories Out! Good luck and congrats on your loss so far!

NC, worked tele, right now I'm in NP school.

Congrats! I'm down 20 +/- since Jan 22!

Food allergies are something I take very seriously. My son has life-threatening food allergies. Please make no mistake, a food allergy is completely different from an intolerance. Symptoms of food allergies are usually very specific and can include GI symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea, but may also include hives and…
