I've experienced the same issue and would love to know if there if a less embarrassing, more effective solution than Spirit Fingers.

Welcome aboard! I, too, need to lose at least 100 lbs. This is a great tool to help you reach your goal. Be brutally honest with yourself in your tracking - if you go over your goal even after exercise, DON'T GIVE UP. Start back over again the next day. One of my favorite mottoes is 'Progress, not perfection.' Make sure…

So glad that you're here to share your story and help inspire us!!

Grape tomatoes - they are like candy for me! I love them raw and roasted. This time of year, I also can't get enough brussels sprouts roasted in a little bit of olive oil with garlic cloves (425 degrees for 50 minutes).

Totally NOT a dumb victory!!! Congratulations!!

It's been a rough week - I've had a horrible head cold since Monday so, besides walking my dog 5 - 6 times a day, I got little to no exercise. I guess I'm satisfied with a .9 loss this week bringing me down to 238.4. I don't usually eat a lot of packaged foods so I did well with that this past week but I did not add any…

I exclusively use coconut oil most days but when it's particularly dry out (or in my apartment), I put Vitamin E oil over the coconut oil. I don't have any problems with too much shine, I love the way it smells, and it's so much cheaper than the Origins products I was using before.

Here's one that another MFP friend of mine tried a few days ago and she said it was great and very filling: 1 scoop vanilla protein shake 1 tablespoon whole ground flaxseed meal 5 oz. non-fat Greek yogurt 1 peeled banana 3/4 cup vanilla soy milk 1 rounded tablespoon dark hot chocolate powder 1 tablespoon chunky peanut…

Extraordinary! Congratulations!

Any ideas on where to get a copy of Fresh? It's not available on Netflix or Amazon but it sounds great on IMDB.

I cried throughout the entire documentary - mostly because I knew how drastically I was going to have to change how I eat or I'd have a difficult time living with myself. I must admit that I haven't made as many changes as I need to but I'm on the path to aligning my diet with my values. I need to watch the film again.

It can be really confusing but I need to ask, is your trainer a registered dietitian, nutritionist, or physician? I would be very wary of any professional in the training business who tells you that you should not have more than 10% fat. What are her credentials? For the record, the American Heart Association recommends…

Hello girls! I weighed in at 239.3 today, down exactly 2 lbs. I added a couple of extra blocks to each of my walks with my dog this week but didn't try any new veggies. This coming week, I'm going to try either sweet potatoes or beets again, both of which I have disliked every other time I tried them. Wish me luck! Have an…

What a spectacular achievement! Probably would have been impossible 70 pounds ago. You are my hero! Hydrate and up your protein but do not worry about those calories.

Progress, not perfection! You can do this.

I really enjoy them, especially with a little bit of Dijon mustard and tomato slices.

Incredible! You're a total inspiration!

Thanks for the inspiration! What an incredible achievement.

Such an excellent idea! This is going to be my year too sister. Here's to ya!

Congratulations! You look amazing. You owe your friend at least a glass of wine for keeping that photo and sending it to you as a reminder of what you have achieved!
-
Thank you so much for sharing this! He's amazing.

eatingwell.com is excellent. I would also HIGHLY recommend the cookbook 'Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook' by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero. I love this book and cook out of it frequently.

Such a great way to start your new year! Welcome!

That's awesome! Congratulations!

One of my favorite exercises to 'squeeze in' is Calf Raises - essentially going up on my toes as high as I can then lowering without touching the floor and raising again. I usually do sets of 25 while waiting for the elevator in my building and while in the elevator* each time I take my dog for a walk, 4 - 6 times a day.…

Definitely shoes and I highly recommend getting fitted at a local running store to determine your foot type and the best type of shoe for you. You can pay a lot for a top of the line shoe but if it doesn't have the correct support or flexibility for your needs you may as well have bought something off the racks from…

So, I'm only down .1 lbs since Tuesday bringing me to 242.2. Going forward, I'll adjust my weigh day to Friday. Happy holidays everyone!

Here are a couple of books that helped me out when I first started running (Full disclosure: I actually walk faster than I run so I'm going to break any speed records and I've been out of training-mode for a few years now so I'm starting over almost from scratch): Runner's World Complete Book of Beginning Running by Amby…

This evening I made and ate one of my favorite home-cooked meals (The recipe makes enough for 2 meals for one person or a nice size side dish for a few people and it's EASY!!) : Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. - 12 brussels sprouts, cut in half, stems removed - 1/2 a medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets about the…
