  • Is he "on his own" for any meals during the day? I know that sometimes when people feel "restricted" they will binge. I guess I would personally just ask him if he's been tracking his carbs, and if he says no, you could share that you feel like you've had some success with being a bit more mindful with your tracking, and…
  • Maintained my runs and weight training for the week. However, I splurged with a more carb heavy dinner time last night since we were celebrating my birthday with family. I'm planning to really push more water this week and my goal is to get in 3 runs this week. I'm going to work on my stretches a bit more this week too…
  • Recently I opted for lattes with almond milk and they were great! I might order a breve the next time I go to Starbucks or Human Bean, but I feel like the almond milk is a good (and more consistent) choice for my local coffee spots.
  • I agree with earlier posts, I would pursue some certifications and get whatever legal support you need to cover your rear. I own a side business that I do choreography and consulting services, mostly in the cheer industry, but I've been toying with the idea of doing some "life coaching" on the side. I have a Bachelors…

My Valentine's "weekend" was filled with way more carbs and sugar than I had actually planned for. Long story…
  • Goals for the coming week: *Keep running 2-3 times a week with 2 weight training days - so far I've been keeping this goal all month, and regardless of the scale, I feel this exercise is valuable for me *Work on planning out my meals, especially breakfast for the rest of this week (I've been doing a lot of "grab n go" sort…
  • My last weigh in was 187.6. Didn't weigh in this morning, but yesterday was the most carbs and sugar I've had in several weeks. Long story short, I got asked to do some extra things prior to the State competition I was judging at, which led to me forgetting to grab my snacks and getting myself a keto coffee to help me…
  • There was an earlier post about this. Seems like most of the regular posters on here go by total carbs. I personally go by net carbs, as I feel it works for me, but I suspect I may go to total carbs once I find at what point I stop being in ketosis. Also, MFP won't log your net carbs unless you change the setting for it.
  • Thank you for all the suggestions! I do need to make a Costco run soon, so perhaps I see what the price is there when I go. Thanks again!!

I'll be honest, I don't think I'll reach goal weight by my birthday. This is…

Was not happy to see 188, but I suspect I am back on track again and should be able to see better outcomes moving forward. I have gotten in 1 run and 1…
  • I get that too, and just eat lunch food for breakfast![/quote] @jennifermcclanahan50 - I recently ate leftover jalepeno poppers from our Sunday "snacks" and it was THE BEST! All we did was stuff them with cream cheese, a little shredded cheddar cheese and cooked bacon. Put it in my over for 20 minutes at 375. The jalepeno…
  • I will weigh tomorrow morning and see where I'm at....figured the scale would show water weight gain with the carbs I ingested this weekend, so we'll see what tomorrow shows. This week's goals: *Run 2-3 times *Weight training 2 times *No alcohol this week....as much as I may want some this coming weekend!
  • Believe me, I know everything is better from your own kitchen. Especially because you can gauge what it has in it better....just happens that every so often I will pick up a coffee in the morning or most likely have some when out with friends or family. I just was wanting suggestions or pointers for when I'm "going out".…
  • With today being the end of February's weekly check in I figured I would touch base. I was good about my fitness goals for last week. I didn't hop on the scale this morning, but it was a ROUGH day yesterday. The competition I judged at had me there from 7:30am to 8pm. I planned snacks for myself for a "typical" competition…

My times have been pretty good considering that I'm burning a new source of fat rather than my carbs. Granted, I have to push through it a bit near the end, but overall I'm feeling good. Once my weekends free…
  • The Garlic Parm wings sound good! I actually did a "test run" on unbreaded jalepeno poppers stuffed with cream cheese, cheddar and bacon....yeah, they were AWESOME! Might do some more on Sunday, but we are currently planning a trek out to IKEA for some furniture Sunday, so I don't even know if we'll be watching much, if…

I tweeked my neck muscle and am thinking I might opt to try an ab workout tomorrow or even Saturday and use today and tomorrow to get in my 2 additional runs for the week. NSV -…
  • Thanks for sharing your journey! We've all had that moment of being a bit down about the scale not reflecting the efforts that we've put in. I'm down 60 pounds from my highest recorded weight, but it's taken me several years to get to this point...probably 5 years of half-a$$ing it and 2 of taking things seriously. My…
  • Just completed my first run - 1.72 miles at an 8.5/mile pace. Can tell a major difference in my energy depleting about half way through the run, since I'm pulling from fat, not carbs...I really pushed myself though. But it feels good! Heart pumping. Breaking a sweat. It's awesome!!
  • Very excited to do this again! SW: 195 Prior W: 189.8 (1/22) CW: 187.2 (1/29) GW: 160-165 I've committed to running 2-3 times each week with at least 2 weight training/body weight training sessions weekly as well. I will be continuing to keep my carbs to 20-22 net carbs for at least another 1-2 weeks, then will start…
  • SW: 195 Prior W: 189.8 (1/22) CW: 187.2 (1/29) GW: 160-165 My wrap up to January included some major compliments about how amazing I looked from both friends and family...made me feel great! Additionally, I got to try keto coffee for the first time...Awesome! I also was tested on making the best decisions I could while…
  • Will we be starting a new thread for this next week? 1/28-2/4?? I'm enjoying this check in! I'm planning to run 2-3 times a week with 2 weight/body weight training days each week. I'm excited to see more positive results as I continue LC and add in some more exercise...since I lost nearly 8 pounds these first 2 weeks with…
  • We had kabobs for dinner! Tried a new marinade recipe and it was AMAZING!!
  • The only thing I've known that WW has that is a valueable piece to their program is their WW meetings. I've had a couple of family friends do WW and the meetings and support that they got is really what kept them going....the one gal picked up the tips and tricks and eventually left WW and continued to have success. I…
  • I have had more of an issue with people telling me to not lose anymore weight. My goal is to reach 175, but I'd like to get down to 165. I'm still 12 pounds from reaching 175, but when I verbalize this to friends and sometimes family ("I'd like to lose 10 more pounds.") , they're like, "Why do you need to lose more? You…
  • I agree with wabmester, do what you enjoy and look forward to. I personally think exercise is beneficial because it helps me feel strong, gives me mental clarity and is good for the heart. It helped me lose 40 pounds. Now I am looking to drop another 20 with LC and exercise. So far, so good!
  • SW: 195 Prior W: 189.8 (1/22) CW: 187.4 (1/28) GW: 160-165 Goal for 1/21-28: Sticking to 20-22 Net Carbs. Going to add in 1-2 running days and 1 class (yoga or Zumba). I didn't get in a run during the time frame of this week, but I am planning a run FOR SURE on Friday. It's been much needed, and I should have done it…
