I was only suggesting some healthy snack and alternatives. She should of course consult her OB. I have had gastric bypass, so my daily intake is around 800 calories. I supplement my food with protien drinks and many vitamins. All according to doc and nutritionst. :)

Had to add something after seeing the other posts. If you gain too much weight while pregnant, it is unhealthy for the mom AND the baby (speaking from someone who gained 100 pounds during pregnancy). Dieting while pregnant when your BMI is too high is perfectly okay. Make sure you discuss your plan with the OB, to ensure…

Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds is a GREAT program! The easy walk (1 mile, 17 minutes) and brisk walk (2 mile, 30 Minutes) sound like viable options for you. Record what you eat religously... Then review to see where you can cut calories, and choose healthier options. You can do this in a painless, safe manner! BTW i…

Make sure you get in at least 60-80 grams of protein daily, and I would also take 2 multivitamins daily. Since you are so low calorie, you may need the extra nutrients. I had gastric bypass in 2011 and eat 500-800 calories daily after exercising. I have to have that much protein, the 2 multi vitamins, iron, calcium, and…

My husband and I have been married almost 21 years and my son (the best thing I have ever done) is 20 years old, and a Marine, and beautiful inside and out! Parenting is the hardest thing you will ever do, but also the most rewarding. I am sure I made TONS of mistakes on the way;…

I had Gastric bypass in Dec 2011, so I have to do 60-80 mg of protein daily. That in addition to my lack of green leafys causes a problem. I take 2 colace one in morning one at night (no laxative) and for bfast I have a yogurt mixed with allbran cereal. It helps things move along! hope it helps!

Joining MFP, and logging your food intake and exercise is a HUGE STEP, and will alert you to the changes you need to make in your food intake. Portion control is a huge thing!! We Americans are just not taught how to eat. This site is a great tool, as well as great support. Good luck on your journey! J

What happened to cause you not to be able to walk. I am schedule for bypass on 05/04/2011 and am interested in hearing about the complication if you don't mind. I am not limited to a wheelchair, but mobility is hard due to my weight. There are lots of exercises online for sedentary adults. Do a search for them. Good Luck!.…
