We took her back to the farm she came from and just said that if they ever found they didn't want her, we'd take her. He said take her and so we did. She has been an awesome dog! • I used to have that problem, but eventually my body got used to it. It still happens every now and then, but I do make sure that I empty my bladder before I workout. I really like the One-A-Day Weight Smart. Make sure not to take them on an empty stomach.
  • I get up to work out in the morning also and it can be hard. Every day is different, but putting the alarm on the other side of the bed or room to turn it off helps. Also, I drink a bottle of water right before bed so when I wake up in the morning, I HAVE to go to the bathroom. Once I wake up like that, I can't go back to…
  • I used to run a daycare, and yes, $100 is way under what I would have charged for full time/ 2 kids. I charged $165 for 2 and that was on the lower end in my area. Buuuuu-t I also agree that you need to figure out what the priority is. Is this just a bonus that helps and you get to be with your child(ren)? It meant so much…
  • Here in Traverse city, Michigan, it's rainy and 45, but it was sunny and 75 degrees yesterday. The cherry and apple trees are in bloom and spring is finally here in full force after 6 months of winter. It's so beautiful here, but I miss the longer summers of Oklahoma where I grew up. It's just so much prettier here so it's…
  • You are brave to mention the Chiefs!! But I'll mention the Lions and that'll make the Chiefs look good, lol. I'm not die hard for them, but my DH is. He knows all their stats and keeps up on them EVERYDAY!! He and his boss always have bets going between the Lions and the Chiefs. My favorite sports are volleyball and…
  • Ditto My husband is an avid runner and manages a running shop. He swears by this stretch.
  • I have a boxer also and she has this same issue. She's oblivious though, lol. We'll be saying "Oh Kacy!!" trying to clear the room and she just looks at us with this "What?" look . Our last boxer was the same and my in-laws' boxers too. They are just blessed I guess. They are so darn cute though. I have noticed that…
  • I grew up in Oklahoma, lived all over; OKC, Norman, Edmond, Guthrie, Elk City, Lawton. We moved to Northern Michigan when I was 15. It was a bit of a shock because we moved in the middle of winter. I miss Oklahoma weather (nothing like the smell after a good Oklahoma thunderstorm:heart: ) and people, but it is so beautiful…
  • I live just south of Traverse City. I am so-o-o glad spring is peeking out! Traverse City is one of the most beautiful places. I grew up in Oklahoma and have come to really appreciate the beauty here. I can't wait for the cherry trees to bloom!! Claire
  • "If you are not mentally ready to quit you need get there first - you can try everything out there from patches to pill but if you are not mentally ready you will, without knowing it, sabatoage your effort. Quitting is part mental, part habit and part nicotine. It's rough but take it one day at a time. Find a program that…

  • I Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ve it!! I wish more people could follow their example. Thank you for posting that Fitness Chick!
  • I have taken effexor, but it made me very tired and I had no energy. I took cymbalta and it was really good (more energy, felt good) for about 8 months then it seemed my body needed more to get the same effects so my dr upped it. The higher dose gave me headaches. I am now on wellbutrin xl and have been on it for about 1…
  • I cross-stitch and always have one big one and then a smaller one going. I tried knitting and crocheting, but got very frustrated that I couldn't make a swatch with a consistent gauge. Then I found those Knifty Knitters. I really love them. I can whip out a scarf and hat in just a couple of days. And it is easy to put down…
  • Happy Days Laverne & Shirley Beverly Hillbillies Green Acres Cheers How about Fat Albert or Differ'nt Strokes? And my personal favorite......................... Mr. Roger's "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" Don't know why, but it always cheered me up. I have 4 kids and used to run a daycare, so I heard it often…
  • I'm sure you could use splenda. The calorie count per batch is 4359 without nuts. If you can get 60 cookies, that only 72 calories per cookie with less than 2 g of fat. I calculated this on nutritiondata.com Claire
  • I just wanted to share this recipe with everyone because it surprised me how good they were. A mother of 3 at my church has literally cut out ALL butter and most hydrogenated oils from their diet. Her husband is a body builder and she looks great. She has so many good ideas, I am going to be trying a few. This recipe is…
  • Yeah!!! Go OU!!! I live in Michigan, but am a former okie!! Claire
  • I know that losing weight is hard. And yes our bodies and metabolisms change as we get older. I don't know if there may have been some major change in your life besides graduation (which is huge, congratulations!), but girl,.....you have to love yourself for more than your looks. You sound like a sweetheart and I am…
  • I quit smoking almost 6 years ago and I had the same problem. It was discovered, about 14 months later that my thyroid was not working properly and I had to get on some synthroid. I don't think it had anything to do with the quitting, but I was so glad it was discovered. It made all the difference in my energy levels and…
  • :flowerforyou: I also think everyone here is inspiring, I don't think I can pick just one....or even two or three. I love everyone's sense of humor, encouragement, and perseverance. I love reading everyone's posts and ways of thinking about their journey. I love being with people who understand and are not judgmental. You…
  • I use a short resistance band. I hook it onto the leg of a chair or something stable. I then put the other end around my ankle and pull that leg across the front of my other. I do about 20 reps on each leg. It has helped a lot!!
  • I have had the same problem and most of the time it is because I haven't had enough water. So drink some extra water first. If that doesn't help, I eat a big bowl of broccoli. Maybe sounds silly, but it always helps me. I will try just about anything before taking a medicine.
  • I have eaten may of the food combinations you guys have mentioned: -peanut butter & jelly mixed in a bowl was mine & my brother's staple when we were out of bread -we also loved eating peanut butter(crunchy was best) with syrup to satisfy our sweet tooth -my DH used to put blueberry jam on his waffles, sometimes with pb…
  • Sorry to hear you're not feeling well!! I hope it passes quickly!! Don't overdo yourself with cleaning the house and such. I always have to remind myself that people will NOT remember me for how clean my house was. They will remember me for the time I spent with them. I know it's hard, but I would go crazy otherwise. I…
  •   I've seen this video a couple of times, but it never gets old!! I love it!!
  • I weigh myself every morning. It keeps me motivated. I do realize that my water weight can change things around, but that also tells me that I need to drink more water to help flush things out. I don't see the scale go down everyday, but it's those tenths of a pound that help keep me motivated. If I only weighed in once a…
